Must Watch: Spacebound

This short film is about a boy and his small dog who have crash-landed in outer space.  The film isn't so much about what they're going to do with the little oxygen that remains.  But more about what they're going to do together with the time they have left.  Check it out - it's really powerful.

Ahhh, those dreaded detention slips most of you boys got while in High School and Grade School.

Seriously, what was this boy, Khai thinking?  "Khai was running around yelling 'Seal of command fades, I cast seal of command, I cast holy shock. he then punched a boy in the mouth and yelled Hammer of Justice"

And boys weren't the only ones who got them, look at Marissa here...  "Disrupting class - claiming to be the reborn Jesus and hitting another student with a Bible"

How many of you have ever been annoyed by someone who raises their hand in class?  Oh, I remember those days.  Lord, I feared for my life. LOL.  Not that I raised my hand in class a lot.

Actually I never did in grade school - I was too shy.  But in college, oh my, you couldn't keep my mouth shut, and classmates were not too happy with my "very liberal" mouth.

Well, now you have a simple guide to help in deciding whether you should, or should not speak up.

With all the craziness in the world, it's amazing how a video with over 1,800 High School students can make your day feel so much better.  Maybe it's because we were all high school students once, or maybe it's because we had or have teenagers who are in school, I don't know.  Maybe it's a combination of all those things.  Regardless, the entire student body of Stratford High School in Houston, Texas, created this video of them lip dubbing to K'naan's song, "Wavin' Flag" and it was absolutely fantastic! Absolutely, absolutely wonderful!

Absolutely hilarious!  We're screwed, and our future is in their hands. LOL.  

When our high school children agree that the Korean War is when we gained our Independence or when they don't know that Mexico and Canada border our United States of America, we have a serious problem on our hands.

Better yet, ask them to name a country that starts with the letter "U".

Get More Out of Google

Hack College has come up with the following Infographic that I have posted on my blog on a permanent basis (located on the left sidebar).  It provides tips and tricks for students wishing to do online research.  

A recent study has found that 3 out of  students don't search Google efficiently, hell, I know people that could use help with Google.  One example, "Don't ask Google questions. Think about how an answer would be phrased, and search for that(ie, never search for 'What is the air speed velocity...')."

Yes, you have people who are Google masters, and know every Google trick in the book, but most of us don't, so this definitely does help.  Give it a try if you're doing a research paper, project, or just simply at home searching for useless information.  Enjoy.

I guess the next time a professor tries to outsmart his student, he better be well-prepared. Better yet, take a class on student-teacher etiquette. LOL. 

Too funny. I'd have to go with the student, he was quite clever.

What is it like after college?   It's pretty much what this chart is trying to convey.  I had to move back into my parents home, not once, but twice.  Oh boy, those were the days. LOL.
