“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Troll of the Day: The Gift Wrap Issue

OMG, I can't count the number of times of done this to my co-workers.  I did mine a little differently though.  I actually got some boxes, wrapped each of them with different paper, leaving the bottom side open.  I then placed them over each item on the desk. Like a small gift box for the mouse, a big box for the computer screen, a medium long box for the keyboard, and so forth.  The nurses I did this trick on thought they received lots of gifts, when in fact it was their entire computer and other items. LOL.  Major Troll!

A Happy Chevy Grad - Superbowl Winning Commercial

Because we all know America's Team is out of the playoffs.  The Texans handed the Ravens a win, who in turn lost to the Patriots - a team nobody really cares about.  And well, nobody can really stand the Giants, so what's the point?

Commercials!  You know everybody watches the Superbowl for the commercials.  It will be the perfect time to DVR and fast forward through the entire game. LOL.

Here's Zack Borst's winning entry to Chevrolet's Route66 competition chevroletroute66.com. This Chevy ad will appear during Super Bowl XLVI.  Check it out, it's pretty darn funny.

I Gave My Kids A Terrible Present: Part II

Now why does Jimmy Kimmel keep torturing these poor kids?  LOL.  Actually it's the parents who are to blame.  They continued taping their kids, even after Jimmy Kimmel had already completed his segment.
Last month, Jimmy had asked his viewers to play a trick on their kids by having them open one present a few weeks early, but instead of a good present, he advised them to put something the kids wouldn't like in the box, upload it on YouTube, and label it, "Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I gave my kids a terrible present."  Well, the taping didn't stop, and the videos still kept pouring in.

This is part 2 of "I Gave My Kids A Terrible Present":

Movies to Watch - The Christmas Shoes

I had heard this song many times before, but never really paid attention to it, till yesterday.  I mean, I understood it, and knew it was emotionally heart-wrenching, but it wasn't until I saw the movie that it made me value the importance of loving your fellow man.  There isn't one person in this world that I hate.  Not one solitary man, woman or child, and I'm a better person because of it.

Remember to tell the people in your life how much you love them, because there will come a time when they're gone and you'll wish you had.  I call my mother 5 times a week to tell her I love her, and I tell Ryan how much I love him every day.  Embrace it!  You'll be better for it.

I bought the DVD, "The Christmas Shoes" on Amazon.com and got it in the mail just on the nick of time, on Christmas Eve.  I knew Ryan wanted this movie for our collection, so we sat and watched it on Christmas Day.  Let me tell you, I cried, and cried, and cried.  It's a tear-jerker of a film.  I highly recommend it, if you're a Christmas movie aficionado.
The movie bounces between two families--the Layton household, where the father, Robert is so consumed with his work that he misses his daughter's recital; and the Andrews home, where the mother Maggie has been diagnosed with a fatal heart ailment. Desperate to make his mother's last moments happy, Maggie's son Nathan struggles to buy a pair of red dancing shoes that seem like a pair Maggie remembers from her childhood. Naturally, the lives of these families become intertwined, particularly when Robert's wife takes over Maggie's choral program--which topples the already troubled balance between Kate and Robert. Perhaps because Rob Lowe is usually stereotyped as glib and insincere. The Christmas Shoes feels surprisingly heartfelt. The earnestness of The Christmas Shoes surprises because the story originated in the famous country song of the same name, and movies based on songs rarely feel anything but plastic and contrived. There are certainly moments when The Christmas Shoes lays on the sentiment woefully thick, but you'd have to be an ogre not to be touched when Maggie and her husband have one last dance.  --Bret Fetzer on Amazon

I Love My Best Friend For All That He Is, I Wouldn't Change A Thing...

In the nearly six years Ryan and I have been together, not one day has gone by where I've never said, "I Love You."  And if we had a disagreement or a difference of a opinion, we got over it rather quickly.  Arguments and/or fights are too far in between that we simply forget about them.  We have better things to do with our lives than to sit around bickering all day.

Quite honestly, we became "Best Friends," because that's how every relationship should be.  I believe wholeheartedly that if you cannot become best friends with your partner, your relationship will never work.  Friends you've made over the years through childhood, high school and/or college that you consider best friends, are there for you, love you and will support you as much as humanly possible; But in the end, the one you gave your heart to, should be your truest friend.

When you fall in love, and your partner becomes your "Best Friend," he or she should mean more to you than all your other friends combined.  If you truly love this person, no one, and I mean no one, can tear that apart.  He or she, in essence has become the most important person in your life; Your confidant, your soul mate and your partner.

Simply put, when you get into an argument or a disagreement about something, don't go running to your friends about it.  Take a moment to cool down, run to the bathroom, beat the walls, wish him/her dead, but do not run and tell your "other friends."   You need to talk to the man or woman you love, they are your Best Friend.  If you cannot do this without telling other people the problems you have with your partner, then you don't belong with him or her, and quite frankly, were never their Best Friend to begin with. You shouldn't be.

Today around 2:00 in the afternoon, Ryan received some flowers in a basket, a cute monkey holding a candy bar, and a balloon that said, "I Love You." And on the card I wrote,
"It's not Valentine's Day, but I don't need a holiday to let you know how much I love you.  You're not only everything I dreamed you would be, you're the blessing God told me I would receive when I got older."
I meant every word I wrote, and to this day I love him more than I ever could.  Life would be incomplete without him.  Ryan is my Best Friend and he means more to me than you will ever know.
