It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Are People Really This Stupid? Issue No. 39 - NO GAY EATING HERE!

kansas religious freedom bill ridiculousI don't even know where to begin with this.  What's next? Segregated bathrooms?  Hell, from New York to Chicago - there's gay high schools going up, because kids need a place to feel safe without being bullied and tortured.  Just recently laws in Kansas and Arizona were passed by Republican lawmakers who felt the need to discriminate gay patrons.  Lord help me if something similar happens in this state (Texas) and someone kicks me out of a restaurant.  Are people really this stupid???

by

Proposed Jim Crow laws for gay people are already taking effect in Kansas.   38-year-old Johnny Quinns-Smith wanted to get an egg-salad sandwich for himself and his fiance, Erique Boltzman.  He went to his local diner outside Franton, near Scranton, a place where he and Boltzman had occasionally ate over the past 6 years.  In fact, it was at this diner that the two met during a lunch hour.

But today, Quinss-Smith encountered something he thought he would never see in his lifetime:  a sign.  A sign that said, “Service Refused To Gay Couples.”

“I was in absolute shock, I mean, I could not even fathom what was going on,” he said.  When he went into the restaurant, all went silent.  The locals looked at him, with several pointing and whispering.  Wiping out a cup, a server behind the restaurant’s main ordering station stared at him and then looked over at one of the newest signs next to the cash register.

“I looked at where several people’s eyes were tracking.  Then there it was, it was a sign that said ‘No Gay Eating Here’.”

Shock: “No Gay Eating Here”, Kansas bill allows businesses and government workers to refuse service to gay couples.

Not wanting to make a scene, Quinns-Smith quickly walked up to the stand where he had always been able to order his food.  The server who had taken his order and brought him his food for years stood there in front of him and asked, “How can we help?”
“What is wrong.  What is this sign meaning,” Quinns-Smith asked, feeling uncomfortable as eyes rested on him.

“It means you and your boyfriend can’t come eating in here no more, unless you find God,” a customer seated offered a response before staff said anything.
“You need to find God and the Bible,” someone else yelled out.  The floodgates were open.

“We don’t want your germs on the silverware.”  ”Just repent son, you can still be forgiven and be normal.”  ”Being gay is not natural.  It is not God’s way.”

Quinns-Smith ran from the restaurant, utterances from the customers making him absolutely horrified and uncomfortable.  When he closed the door behind him, he saw the sign boldly positioned on the front door, right above business hours, “Service Refused to Gay Couples.”  Quinns-Smith had not even noticed it when he walked in.

While he does not plan to return to the restaurant, Quinns-Smith is worried that so many people in town were so bold to talk him down about his lifestyle and that the restaurant was supporting their views, telling him he needs ‘Jesus and to read his Bible’ and to just ‘stop being gay.”

The Kansas House of Representatives recently passed a bill with a 73-49 vote that  allows government workers and businesses the right to refuse services to gay couples.  Fortunately, the bill lost traction in the Kansas Senate, but it is still alive and could become law in the state.   The story of this restaurant will become reality for more gay couples across the state, facing an unprecedented showing of ignorance that has unfortunately reached back from the turbulent 1960s and into our modern age of progress.

When Johnny Quinns-Smith hopped back into his car, his fiance was surprised. “Where’s our lunch?”
“I had to explain to him, that because we are a gay couple, some people already felt they had the right to deny us any service, and that included getting an egg salad sandwich so we could eat outside for lunch and enjoy a rarely warm winter’s day.”

Republican Senator's Teenage Son on Gays, Blacks and Jews

Ahhh, it's those little things in the news you don't hear about too often.  Republican Senator, Jeff Flake had to publicly apologize for his son, Tanner, because he obviously didn't know his son was racist, anti-semitic or homophobic.  And to think he raised a boy for 14 or 15 years without ever realizing any of this... hmmm...

So the boy starts off by saying that a faggot stole his dirt bike from a church parking lot.  He goes on to say he will find him, and beat the crap out of him.  He jokes about a friend stealing one-liners because he's Jewish and loves to play "Fun Run" on Facebook with his favorite screen name, "n1ggerkiller".

“I’m very disappointed in my teenage son’s words, and I sincerely apologize for the insensitivity. This language is unacceptable, anywhere. Needless to say, I’ve already spoken with him about this, he has apologized, and I apologize as well,” Sen. Flake
Seriously, how much you want to make a bet, there's many more of them?  Racist, homophobic, teenage sons from Republican Senators.
And Tanner Flake's You Tube comments reveal something even more sinister... He hates Mexicans. LOL.  But I'm going to say anyone with dark skin at this point.

“a reader sends in a sampling of Tanner Flake’s comments from YouTube.”
“you faggot retard pussy piece of crap i hope you die in a hole slowly and painfully”
“you gay fag ni**er go shoot yourself because no body likes you”
“Mexicans are the scum of the earth.”
“Then some ni**er started rapping and I looked at her album art and saw that it was Flo Rida.”
“IT’S THE NI**ER FAMILY!!!!”
“Stupid little ni**er”
“go die in a hole you stupid ni**er”
“The black guy always fails first…”
“Yes, because one white dude goes nuts. No. Black people do crap like this all of the time.”
“When he called himself a cheap jew i loled hard”

Michele Bachmann's Real Retirement Video

Leave it to Funny or Die to make a parody of Michele Bachmann's retirement video.  It actually isn't too far off.  LOL.  Make sure to catch a special cameo by her "behind the candelabra" husband, Marcus.

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: Define Me

I'm going out of the norm for today's issue of Saturday Morning Coffee Break.  I'm featuring a music video by singer/ songwriter, Ryan Amador that is absolutely amazing.  He sings alongside Jo Lampert in a duet that is both powerful and moving.  The song is titled, "Define Me".

Trust me, making you cry is not something I want to do, but this will be especially emotional for those who have ever been bullied or blasted with gay slurs growing up.  And this will be emotional for those straight folks with a heart and soul, who may have contemplated saying these things once, and regret ever doing so. But finally, this is for those Christians who know loving your fellow brother is something Jesus asked them to do, and yet, don't understand why their fellow worshipers are so full of hate and contempt for those who wish them no harm.

The video features Amador and Lampert stripping down to their underwear revealing gay slurs and negative stereotypes across their arms, legs, and chest.  It ends with them washing away the words and sharing a smile.

Once again, it is absolutely amazing; I just love it.  And this why it is today's Saturday Morning Coffee Break.  And rightly so.
Grab your java, sit down and enjoy.

The Lovely 29 States That Can Fire You For Being Gay

Yep, and my lovely state of Texas if one of them.  I look at this sea of red and can't figure out why these state legislatures would allow this to happen.  I have my theories, but there are not enough curse words in the English or Spanish language to voice my frustration.

Thankfully, employers make their own decisions in our state.  And while M.D. Anderson doesn't provide health insurance for our spouses, they do support the GLBT community.  Now, Ryan's bank, on the other hand, provides domestic partner benefits, and this is across the board - all over the U.S.

I honestly believe that if conservatives and republicans could find a way, they would make it illegal to be Gay.  I honestly believe that. They hate us that much.

My Gay Agenda

I thought this image was humorous, but I had to say something about it...

Yeah, so we've heard it all before.  We gays have an agenda.  All gays want to force homosexuality down people's throats, molest their children, keep people from saying Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, and we all have AIDS.

Seriously?

Yes, we have an Agenda, and I can tell you right now, it doesn't interfere with your lives.  We don't want to know what you do in the privacy of your own home. We don't want to take away your marriage licenses, or sleep with you.  We don't have a desire to molest your children, actually the likelihood that it's one of your family members (who's straight) is a more plausible answer, considering statistics show that straight people molest children more often than gays.  Hell, look at all those teachers (straight women and men) sleeping with their students.

As for the AIDS issue, this shouldn't even be one.  AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease that can pass from male to male, female to male, male to female; Either way you look at it, it is not a "Gay" disease.  It's your disease too.

And finally, the Christmas thing is actually a religious nut idea, nothing really to do with gays - I just through it in there to be funny, because we're blamed for everything.  Republicans, like Sarah Palin think non-christians are out to take the Christ out of Christmas.  What does it matter? I say Merry Xmas (and yes I used an X), and say Happy Holidays too!

A Very Special Moment - Issue #6: Imagine a World Without Hate

It's time for A Very Special Moment, and this one hits close to home.  Actually, the previous issues hit pretty close too.
For those who are here for the first time, I created this series because I always come across videos on the internet, that I swear, are very special moments, and this video is a perfect example of one.  Have you ever wondered what it would be like if people didn't hate?  I have... hundreds of times.

But for the people in this video, it was something that overcame them.  It's time to reflect.  Reflect on what could have been.  Reflect on what "Hate" took away from us.  And this goes for straights and gays, as both are highlighted in the video.
Imagine a World Without Hate™, one where the hate crimes against Martin Luther King, Anne Frank, Matthew Shepard and others did not take place. Support us in the fight against bigotry and extremism by sharing this inspirational video and taking the pledge to create a world without hate at http://www.adl.org/imagine.

My Christian Thoughts - Issue #4 - The Baptist Pastor Who Encouraged Parents to Punch Their Boys

I first heard the following audio on Anderson Cooper last May, and was so angry about it I wanted to immediately share My Christian Thoughts on the matter.   Unfortunately, I was on blog break and my blogging was sporadic at best; But now that I have this new series every Sunday, I do have something to say.
"So your little son starts to act a little girlish when he is four years old and instead of squashing that like a cockroach and saying, “Man up, son, get that dress off you and get outside and dig a ditch, because that is what boys do,” you get out the camera and you start taking pictures of Johnny acting like a female and then you upload it to YouTube and everybody laughs about it and the next thing you know, this dude, this kid is acting out childhood fantasies that should have been squashed.

Can I make it any clearer? Dads, the second you see your son dropping the limp wrist, you walk over there and crack that wrist. Man up. Give him a good punch. Ok? You are not going to act like that. You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male. And when your daughter starts acting to Butch you reign her in. And you say, “Oh, no, sweetheart. You can play sports. Play them to the glory of God. But sometimes you are going to act like a girl and walk like a girl and talk like a girl and smell like a girl and that means you are going to be beautiful. You are going to be attractive. You are going to dress yourself up.”

You say, “Can I take charge like that as a parent?”

Yeah, you can. You are authorized. I just gave you a special dispensation this morning to do that."
There's a special place in hell for Baptist Pastors like you, Mr. Sean Harris.  And if any of you reading this think and act like this, there's a special place for you too.  Oh, I'm sorry, am I being judgemental?  Am I judging you?  Since it's okay for you to do it to me, I think I have that right too, no?

But guess what, I'm not.  I'm not a hater - I'm a lover.  I love you regardless if you hate me.  I love you regardless if you rather see me in some prison camp for the gays.  I love you regardless if you "choose" to be straight.  I love you because my heart has no room for nothing else.

See the clear picture?

It's love.  Jesus loves, God loves, and I love.  And this is who I will emulate - not you - the Christian who pretends to be of God.

My Christian Thoughts - Issue #2 - The Subway Preacher

In today's My Christian Thoughts I'd like to talk about a video I saw last week.  The issue hits close to home, because I remember portraying the pastor or preacher in this video.  The debauchery that takes place really upsets me and it does so, because who are we to judge other people?  Who are we to tell other people what to do?  I understand teaching or sharing The Word, but I don't agree with forcing it down a person's throat.  In the end, we will be judged individually by a higher Being if this is what we choose to believe, and for those who don't - more power to you.

I lost countless of friends in high school and in college, because I was preaching to them - telling them they were going to hell, because they didn't belong to the true "Church of Christ".  Imagine me going up to a Catholic, a Baptist, a Presbyterian, a Methodist or a Mormon, telling them, "you, your mom, sister, brother and family are going to hell - all of you!  And if you don't change your religion soon, you will feel the fire deep in those pits!"

Yep, that was me.  Don't get me wrong, I believe in God - a loving and beautiful God who made me who I am.  Who is there beside me every day, and will be, until the day I die.  And this is what I choose to believe.  It's not your or anyone else's job to tell me it's not gonna happen.  My transformation took time, and I am so grateful to God that it happened, but that's another story - another issue of "My Christian Thoughts."

What is so remarkable about the video is the response the gay man receives after being chastised for over two minutes.
[Excerpts from the video]
Instead of attempting to ignore a "preacher" spewing homophobic rants, a gay New York City subway rider decided to confront him.

On Saturday, a street preacher went on an anti-gay tirade on one of NYC's subway lines, according to New York Mag's Daily Intelligencer. The preacher yelled about society's poor influence on children, likened gay men to pedophiles and claimed "Michael Jackson died because he was gay" to a crowded subway car.

But one stranger wasn't having it.

"You teach hate," the man, wearing a khaki coat and a large fur hat, responded. "You are false. You are a false prophet. Do not listen to this man. He's scared. He's full of hatred."

The man continued to stand his ground and revealed that yes, he is gay, and yes, God still loves him. "I'm a man. And I'm a good man," he said. "And I'm a gay man and Jesus loves me! Jesus loves me!"

The gay man's eloquence moved his fellows riders so much that it was met by a rousing round of applause.

My Christian Thoughts - Premiere Issue: Alfie's Home

Honestly, this has got be the most atrocious thing I have ever seen in my entire life.  We start today's new series, "My Christian Thoughts", with a book titled, "Alfie's Home".

It's a Sunday and most people are at church.  I know, I know.

Ironically enough, I used to be a frequent church-goer as a child - and way into my teenage years.  Taught Sunday School, led hymns even gave one sermon.  I wore a suit and tie often, carried around my Bible and even spread the Word of God to fellow school mates in and out of school.  What happened, you ask?  Nothing happened, I just realized the truth.  God created me as I am, and he loves me as I am.  He made me who he wanted to be.  I've said this many times before, I didn't wake up one day when I was four years old and say, "I think I want to be Gay today".

It's people like the author of this book that terrify me.  And I'm sorry to say this, but most Christians & Republicans believe in this manner.  No, I'm not sorry - most Christians & Republicans DO believe this way.

Earlier this month, PFOX (Parents and Friends of Gays and Ex-Gays) and the Family Research Council submitted a brief  that states that gays and lesbians shouldn't be a "protected class" under the law because homosexuality is something that can be changed or corrected.  So to show evidence, they provided this children's book.  I about threw up.

Alfie’s Home was published in 1993 by Cohen’s International Healing Foundation. [Image Excerpt Source]

The book starts with a picture of the protagonist on a boat with his dad.
But it goes bad fast, going right for the right-wing myth that homosexuality is caused by childhood sexual abuse…
…and by insufficiently attentive parents:
Eventually, Alfie seeks help and takes part in the “touch therapy” advocated by Cohen…
…which leads him to “realize that I’m not gay” and start dating a woman:
Oh and by the way, I was raised by two loving parents who were both excellent teachers and the most amazing people in the world. They taught me to cook, clean, change the oil, work on farm, write, read and most importantly love. And while some gay boys are molested as children and teenagers, most are not.  So to hell with this author - along with the images and story he's trying to convey.

Worldwide Homophobia

This chart is really fascinating.  Not in the sense that I'm glad America isn't in that horrible, deep-pink and purple category, but glad that our country has come a long way.  Sure we have thousands, if not millions of people who continue to hate us - like that ignorant school teacher in the news lately.  But to think that Ryan and I could be incarcerated, or better yet, put to death in all those countries is mind-boggling to me.  It's crazy!!!

So if you're thinking of taking a trip to any of those places - good luck.

Paint & Body Repair Man Has The Most Amazing Heart & Soul

What an amazing story - I shed a few tears watching this video.
And it isn't just about the video being so special - which it is, but because I can't fathom why most of today's Christians, Conservatives and Republicans can't be more like this Paint & Body Repair man.  To top it off, he did an act of kindness for someone he didn't even know.

I love Ellen, and I love this young man.

Traffic Sign: God Hates Gays!

You have to love the good citizens of America who know there are stupid people in this country, and most of the world for that matter.  This lovely video was posted on YouTube last week by a woman who was driving home one night.  Everything in my right mind was telling me this had to be in Texas, because we have millions of crazies in this 'once upon a time' very blue state.  But I was wrong, it's another state full of crazies - Utah.
When the Utah Department of Transportation, Provo Police Department, and Utah Highway Patrol were contacted last week, this is what they had to say...

“Employees of each bureau expressed shock upon hearing the news of the sign, in several cases saying it was the first they had heard of it. Eventually it was established that the sign was on the I-15 corridor. Utah Department of Transportation spokeswoman Mindy Nelson told Gay Salt Lake that signs are maintained by contractors who have the messages approved by UDOT. The sign was most likely changed by one of the contractor’s employees who thought he or she was playing a prank. ‘A very bad prank that is obviously unacceptable,’ she said. Inquires to UDOT regarding the contractor responsible for the sign, and the department’s response and investigation were not returned as of press time.”

"Ain't No Homos Gonna Make It To Heaven"

C'mon, join me now... "I know the Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong...ain't no homos gonna make it to heaven."  A little louder... "I know the Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong...ain't no homos gonna make it to heaven.

Yep, those are the words sung by a mere child in front of a congregation in Greensberg, Indiana.

Isn't that just lovely?  And to think that all along I thought our preachers and pastors were men of God and all they cared about was love. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing that everyone is not like that, but as more and more churches are declaring death to us gays, and spewing hatred month after month, what else are we to believe?

I believe in a loving God.  A building is not a church.  What makes up a church are its people, and if there is but more than 1 that condones this hatred and death towards myself and my partner, then you are part of a bigger problem.  You are, in part, congregating with them, singing and worshiping with them.  The bible states where two are more are gathered in his name, He is there with them.

You don't have to go to a building to worship with people who hate your son or your daughter.  Get together with those you love and worship together, at a park, in your home, at a school - worship with them - they are your church.

My "flesh" Is Intrigued By The Idea of Killing Homosexuals and Adulterers!

Lovely. Just Lovely.

Curtis Knapp
Oh, I just love Baptist churches!  Don't you?  Hell, when all they do is condemn homosexuality and force God down our throats, what makes them think we want to worship with them?  Seriously?  Don't they think we love God just as much, if not, more than all of them!!!!

Two more Baptist pastors have come out in support of killing your brother, sister, mother, father, uncle, aunt, grandmother, grandfather, cousins, friends, co-workers, the list goes on.  All because... well... a straight couple bore a gay child.

Dennis Leatherman
Two pastors, Curtis Knapp of the New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas, and Dennis Leatherman, pastor at the Mountain Lake Baptist Church in Oakland, Md spoke from the pulpit at two of their recent Sunday sermons.  While Knapp suggested that the government should put gay people to death, Leatherman said that his “flesh” is intrigued by the idea of killing homosexuals.

You can read more about this ridiculous nonsense here and even listen to clips of their sermons.

Detain Them In Electrified Camps Until They're All Dead!

I was reading Facebook this morning and came across this horrible article... "N.C. pastor calls for "lesbians and queers" to be detained in electrified camps "until they're all dead"" - Full Story
You know that despite the hatred that comes from these religious people, they will be judged for how they were on earth.  Whether you believe in God or not, most of these people who call themselves Christians are the most vile people on earth.

But like Jesus asked his Father on his dying day, "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do"

"To My Unborn Child... I'll put a bullet in your damn skull" (if you turn out gay)

This hate talk comes from a parent or an idiot who wants to be a parent.  Everyone knows that Twitter is the place to be nowadays, and sometimes things can get a little personal, sometimes a little too personal.  "To My Unborn Child" has become a recent topic of discussion on Twitter.  Unfortunately, it turned into a disgusting ranting space for anti-gay bigots.

***
The Twitter account @Homophobes (which retweets public homophobic tweets to its 4,500 followers) created a post at Storify (a site where users can bundle tweets onto one page and add commentary to create a story) to document over 100 tweets of mostly young men and women saying they would murder their future child if he or she was gay. [source]
 ***
 ***
I honestly don't know where to being with this to tell you the truth.  All I know is that this is who you're voting for, remember that.  Yes, I'm bringing politics into this, and for those who think that this has nothing to do with it, it most certainly does.  When you have candidates running for President who want to strip you of your dignity and your life, politics are involved.  When you have a candidate running for President who says he will stop at nothing to have every gay right overturned, you might as well put a bullet in our heads.  But you know what, why don't we just turn back the hands of time and be like Iran and parts of Africa and start killing our gay children. These imbeciles/parents don't seem to mind it.  Hell, one goes so far as to say "To My Unborn Child, I will kill you if you turn gay, (I support the gays, but will never be one, neither nor my unborn baby)."

Let me put it to you in simple terms, voting for the REDs says you are supporting their causes, and until you realize this, you are fighting against everything your cousin, brother, sister, friend, co-worker, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, grandson, grandaughter - the list goes on.  You are fighting against everything they have accomplished, and are still trying to.  All we want is equal rights for everyone, and the right to love who we want.  I know what you're going to say, "Oh, I can be a RED and not support everything they stand for."  Yeah, and I can say the same thing too, "I can vote for a Democrat and not support everything they do."  Only difference is, they are not trying to take away your rights and your freedoms.  If you vote for a RED - you are supporting them, you are giving them the key to the White House, which will eventually take away the rights from the people you love.

This blog post may have sounded repetitive, but I don't care, I need to make it clear to you people.  And don't even start saying you're Christian if you're tweeting shit like this.  Hell, if you're thinking or wishing it, you're just as guilty.
