Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Laugh of the Day: How to Write the Perfect Valentine

Look, I know for some of you it's hard to come up with the right words to say on Valentine's Day.  That's okay, it's not for everybody, but here's a sure fire way to accomplish what you need to do.
Go to a dollar store and buy two Valentine's Day cards.  Buy one with a sweet and loving statement, and the other with a generic statement on it - like Happy Valentine's Day or something.  Take this card, and transcribe the words from the "sweet and loving" card underneath the generic statement.  Ta-da!! You got words your sweetheart will remember forever! LOL.  Oh, and don't forget to write, "Bianca," "Bradley," or whatever your partner's name is - above the generic statement.

Here - I'll let the video explain it for you, because it's absolutely hilarious!

The One Spanish-Speaking Video You Wished You Had Seen...

When I first saw this video a few months ago, I cried because I understand the love and compassion these two boys feel for each other.  I know, because I've been with Ryan for almost 8 years and our love continues to grow with each passing day.  But I couldn't find the time to translate the words into English for you guys, and also my blogging days were in remission.

But today, on Valentine's Day no less; I have found the same video with the words annotated in English.  The boys speak beautifully in Spanish, so maybe that's why it makes it so emotional for me, I don't know.  But the overall message is pretty clear - These two boys love each other.

The video is titled "I Love You" (Yo Te Amo) - It deserves a look.

Enjoy.

George W. The Artist

Poor Dubya, can somebody please help him? I mean, I guess after being President 8 years and having delegated everything to Karl Rove, art is his only escape.  I mean George W, The Artist isn't so bad - I'm just curious about his state of mind.
Mind you, I have a few other things I wish to say, but I'll keep those to myself - out of respect for some of my dear friends. :-)

Movies to Watch: Romeo & Juliet

Screen shot 2013-02-12 at 5.31.08 PM
So yeah, I think I'm ready to watch Romeo and Juliet.  The upcoming movie stars Douglas Booth as the ever so gorgeous Romeo and Hailee Steinfeld, the very beautiful Juliet.

I happen to agree with James St. James, he is the dreamiest Romeo since Leonardo Di Caprio, played alongside Claire Danes in the 1996 film rendition of the same story.

The new movie, is going to be pretty darn cool.  Ryan and I can't wait to see it.  Here's the synopsis...

In the 16th Century, young writer William Shakespeare is grappling with the story of his latest play, Romeo and Juliet. William's vivid imagination hurls him forward in time to Oxford in the 21st Century, where the feud in his play now rages for real - between two rival business families, the Montanas and the Carringtons. William, all at sea in the 21st Century, soon finds himself caught up in his own story...

Check out the 3D teaser trailer below the pics.

How To Make Ice Cubes - No, Really, There's A Recipe!

I don't know which is funnier, the fact that there's a recipe for making ice on the internet or the person who left a comment, vowing to never make the recipe again!

BECAUSE IT DIDN'T TELL THEM HOW LONG TO LEAVE THE ICE TRAYS IN THE FREEZER!

What a Hot Mess: Books Bound In Human Skin

Courtesy of World of Wonder, I thought I was losing my mind when I came across a picture of a book bound in skin.  No, not cowhide, cardboard, or paper.  Human Skin!

I remember hearing about this way back when, but I never really looked into it; Until now.

Some say Harvard has four books, others say three - but honestly, Harvard has no earthly idea amongst it's 15-million book library how many are wrapped in human hide.  And Harvard isn't the only school with books bound in skin.  What a Hot Mess!

According to the Crimson.com,  'Accessible in the library’s Elihu Reading Room, the book, entitled “Practicarum quaestionum circa leges regias...,” looks old but otherwise ordinary.

Delicate, stiff, and with wrinkled edges, the skin’s coloring is a subdued yellow, with sporadic brown and black splotches like an old banana. The skin is not covered in hair or marked by tattoos—except for a “Harvard Law Library” branding on its spine. Nothing about it shouts “human flesh” to the untrained eye.'

And the mess gets hotter... 'The book’s 794th and final page includes an inscription in purple cursive: “the bynding of this booke is all that remains of my dear friende Jonas Wright, who was flayed alive by the Wavuma on the Fourth Day of August, 1632. King Mbesa did give me the book, it being one of poore Jonas chiefe possessions, together with ample of his skin to bynd it. Requiescat in pace.”'

Crazy, isn't it?  You can read more about it here.

Star Trek Characters & Roles

I found this chart online and thought it was pretty cool. So being that I love Star Trek so much I thought it was only fitting I post it on my blog.  Thank you ChartGeek.
Here is a chart of practically every Star Trek bridge officer from every Star Trek show arranged according to character name and role. Please note that exact parallels are impossible to make so what I’m aiming for here are roles that are roughly analogous, not 100% the same.

The Joys of Being a Parent: Caught Red (Sprinkle) Faced

Ha ha ha, oh... the joys of being a parent!  This is for all you parents who have children or had children who were the kindest, sweetest, cutest, littlest liars. LOL.

Watch as this little boy tells mommy he didn't eat the sprinkles.  And by golly, he didn't eat them even if he had some on his face!

Worldwide Homophobia

This chart is really fascinating.  Not in the sense that I'm glad America isn't in that horrible, deep-pink and purple category, but glad that our country has come a long way.  Sure we have thousands, if not millions of people who continue to hate us - like that ignorant school teacher in the news lately.  But to think that Ryan and I could be incarcerated, or better yet, put to death in all those countries is mind-boggling to me.  It's crazy!!!

So if you're thinking of taking a trip to any of those places - good luck.

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 09 - Build a Skyscraper

The Global Warming Survival Guide

Thinking of building a new home? Buying one?  Well, take into consideration how much you can help the environment by using materials that conserve energy.  Using recycled steel, insulating concrete, cool roofing shingles, recycled wood/plastic composite lumber, Low-E windows and many more materials can help keep you cool during the summer months and warm during the winter; all while helping the environment.

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can meet these goals.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!
                                                   ~ Peter aka Blade7184

9. Build a Skyscraper

Almost everything about the Bank of America tower, a soaring skyscraper under construction near Times Square in New York City, has been designed to minimize the use of energy. Take the concrete. Making the stuff from scratch is very energy intensive, so the builders are using a mix of 55% concrete and 45% slag, a waste product from blast furnaces. Mixing slag with concrete saves energy and makes the concrete stronger. The tower will save so-called gray water from washrooms and use it to flush the toilets. The building will also generate much of its own electricity from natural gas, a less potent carbon emitter than coal. These features will account for $3.5 million of a total building cost of $1.2 billion, but the owners expect to recoup that in a few years with all the energy they'll save. When it's finished next year, the tower will be the second highest in the city, but it stands alone as the greenest building in New York. [Updated]

Some Pretty Cool Stuff - Issue No. 006

Yay!!! It's time for "Some Pretty Cool Stuff"...

I figured that since I'm constantly in the kitchen creating recipes, cooking and enjoying life - today's issue would consist of three must-haves for the kitchen.

Let's start off with the Quirky Ribbon Baking Pan!

The Ribbon is a modular baking pan that allows you to control the shape and the size of the baking area. Using the silicone band that attaches to the steel baking sheet with magnets, you can shape the baking area to fit the needs of your recipe and create different shaped molds for your cakes, brownies, and your most decadent desires. Ding! When you’re done baking simply peel away the silicone band to unleash those delicious treats!
Unfortunately this item isn't for sell yet, but they can sign me up!

The Quirky Pluck!
From bodybuilders to soccer moms, egg whites are a great healthy breakfast choice. But separating the yolk from the whites can seem like pulling a rabbit from a hat. Enter Quirky’s Pluck, the yolk extractor you’ll have to see to believe. Simply place it over the yolk of an already cracked egg, squeeze the silicone chamber, and release to suck the egg yolk up into it. To dispose of its contents, just give Pluck another squeeze and move onto the next egg. When finished, separate the two pieces and wash by hand or in the dishwasher. Buy $12.99 video

The Corn Kerneler!
Wow, this would definitely help me with making sweet corn tamales! Thanks to the stainless steel blades in this contraption, it makes plucking the corn off the cob seem like child's play. $12.95

Things That Make You Go Hmmm... Texas vs. Chile

I've known this for a long time, but just in case none of my fellow Texans knew...

We not only stole the flag design from Chile, we stole their damn motto too.  LMAO.
Chilean Flag
In order for Texas to differinteate itself from Chile, they made their star bigger and the blue extend from top to bottom on the left hand side.

Texan Flag
As for the motto, Chile's "La Estrella Solitaria", is "The Lone Star" in English.

And we are????

The Lone Star State - go figure.

Now that is something to really make you go, "hmmm".

Are People Really This Stupid? Issue No. 29 - Facebook is Full of Them (20 Pics)

LMAO!  I'm sorry, but I had to post these pics - they're freaking hilarious!!! And I'm using "freaking" to be kind. LOL.

But seriously folks.  When people start thinking the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a natural creation it's time to re-evaluate our education system in this country.  Oh wait, are we not 22 in the world in education, or is that 50?  Who cares - we're behind.
Check out the remaining pics after the jump.... they will have you on the edge of your seat laughing.

Loving One Another - Issue No. 017

Wow, I can't believe it's been over 8 months since I posted an issue of "Loving One Another".  Please feel free to share my latest picture quote creation.

Isn't This The Truth? Life Before and After Cell Phones

So the brilliant minds that at _twentypixels have given us a breakdown of life, "before and after" cell phones came to existence.  And I'd have to say they got it down right.  LOL.

So let's just say you're going to meet a friend at 7 PM, called someone and they didn't pick up, or you were stranded and needed a ride.  How was it like before the smartphone you have in your hand right now came to be?

A Very Special Moment: Lazaro Arbos May Stutter, But He Can Sing

I've decided to create a new series, and I'm going to call it "A Very Special Moment".

I always come across videos on the internet, that I swear, are very special moments and this video is one of those moments.

Who you become, what inspires you and what message you convey to those around you - will definitely make you a better person.  All we want is to be loved and accepted. Everyone want's that. You want that.

Ryan and I haven't seen American Idol since Crystal Bowersox lost to Lee DeWyze in season 9, but the recent audition of Lazaro Arbos I caught online was absolutely gut-wrenching.  The boy has a stutter, but can definitely sing his heart out.

Where To Pet and Not Pet Your Pet

So yeah, I don't think this picture is very accurate, because our dogs are very picky about where they want to be petted; Well, Ryan's dogs anyway.  My little Duchess loves to be petted all over. LOL.

2015 Ford Evos Mustang???

RAIN
So what! If you have to wait 2 more years - I'm sure all you Mustang fanatics will be out buying the new sports car in droves.  I'll stick to my RAIN for now, thank you very much :-)

According to this article, The new Ford Mustang Evos will be coming to a city near you by 2015. The Evos is powered by a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain which consists of a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine, electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack. [source].  So yeah Ford's taking Hybrid to a whole new level, and I'd have to say I'm quite impressed.  But I'm sure this care will cost a pretty penny, so unless you're carrying around a huge load of cash, financing will not be so great. Maybe you can finance for 10 years or something. LOL.

Check out the pics, they are pretty cool.

I Can't Freaking Believe This!

What Stress Does To Your Body

Everyone will go through it at some point in their life.  As children, you shouldn't have to.  As teenagers, you have no reason to; Unless homework, boyfriends and girlfriends drive you to it. LOL.  As a young adult, most definitely! And as you get older - all the time. LOL. Just kidding.

I can't remember the last time I was stressed; Okay maybe a couple years ago at work, but I'm okay now.

All kidding aside, the chart below is a pretty clear indicator as to what stress can do to your body.  Check it out, because I've experienced everyone of these throughout my life, and I'm sure you have as well.
