It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Straight But Not Narrow

The really sexy Josh Hutcherson has come out in support of all the straights.  In a new campaign to support the Trevor Project, the Straight But Not Narrow campaign describes itself as the "go to" site for straight folks.

This is a way of getting the message across that "it’s an unfortunate reality that most of the bullying and harassment that gay teens face comes from them."

Furthermore, the site continues to say, "Just be you, Cause that's good enough for us."
So, whether you like girls, you like guys, you like both, you like neither (well, that would kinda suck, but you get the idea)…. what difference does it really make? There’s a whole lot more to a person than who they date. And yeah, we’re all different. But we believe that it’s those differences that make us interesting. Why would we all want to be exactly the same? Where’s the excitement in that?

While I find the concept of this campaign really progressive, it's hard to believe in it, because of the condemnation we face everyday.  But then again, every little bit helps, and we thank Josh for his contribution.

A Small Tribute to Elizabeth Taylor that Includes Lucy

As everyone already knows, the beautiful Elizabeth Taylor passed away on Wednesday morning and was laid to rest Thursday afternoon.  She went out of this life in pretty much the same way she lived it, with Grace, Style and Tastefulness.

While most of us look to older people as our driving force to life, Elizabeth Taylor was one our parents constantly warned us about, especially if you lived in a Christian home; they didn't want us to look up to her.  She was married countless times, had several affairs, became a drinker, a smoker, a party girl, and her life was filled with drama.

But I look past all that, we are human, we all make many mistakes in our life, we learn from them and move on.  Who's to say she wasn't one with God and asked for forgiveness long ago?  We don't know, but He is the one who will decide her fate when the time comes.  Until then, we should all live our lives as we see fit, and if this includes God, or not, that is up to you.

In a tribute to the iconic legend, I came across a video this morning that brought me so much laughter, and thought I would share. The clip is from "Here's Lucy," and pretty much what happens... Lucy gets Liz's ring stuck on her finger.  Richard Burton tries to have it removed, and when he can't, he drags Lucy along with him.  He takes her to a reception that Liz has to show up to later that evening, and everyone is expecting to see the famous ring...

Entertainment Tonight's Captain America Promo

Sometimes, I think they should have re-thought their casting for Spiderman, Superman, and Batman, and cast Chris Evans as all three alter egos.  But of course that couldn't happen, because while Batman and Superman appeared in DC Comics, Spiderman and Captain America appeared in Marvel.

Ah fuck it! Who cares?  I just can't get over how hot Chris Evans looks in this Entertainment Tonight's promotional video showing the very, skinny version of him, which is obviously CGI, and the oh, so muscular version, which is ALL real!

Courtesy of Wikipedia:
In 1942, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is deemed physically unfit to enlist in the U.S. Army and fight the Nazis in World War II. Volunteering instead for Project: Rebirth, a secret military operation, he is physically transformed into a super-soldier dubbed Captain America. With sidekick Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), he fights the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), Hitler’s treacherous head of advanced weaponry, whose own plan for world domination involves a seemingly magical object known as the Tesseract.

Movie Titles in Movies

I actually found this video quite entertaining.  Whoever put this together had plenty of time on their hands.  The video below features eighty movie titles that have been featured in a movie, one time or another, and in 2 minutes, mind you!

A comment also reads, you could've added all the Lord of the Ring Movies too:
1.) Gandalf tells Sauraman "There is only one LORD OF THE RINGS..."
2.) Elrond calls the group "THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING"
3.) Gandalf refers to an alliance between "THE TWO TOWERS"
4.) Gandalf (again) tells the Steward of Gondor he cannot stop "THE RETURN OF THE KING"

Play sing-a-long, all the movie titles, after the jump...

Flashback to the 1990's - Suzanne Vega - "Tom's Diner"

With music in one hand, and a briefcase in the other, I headed to work.  I popped the rectangular shaped object into my car stereo and reminisced about the time the song was released.  As the cassette turned, I took the time to reflect on my past, without regret, without shame, but with unequivocal admiration for the lessons I have learned.  And "Tom's Diner," did just that.

The song was released on Suzanne Vega's 1987 album, "Solitude Standing," and originally an a cappella vocal, but later remixed by two British producers under the name DNA, in 1990.  The video below is the one I listened to this morning, and the version everyone is familiar with.
Tom's Restaurant, after which the song Tom's Diner was named
Courtesy of Wikipedia:
Suzanne Vega's song "Tom's Diner" was used as the reference track in an early trial of the MP3 compression system, earning her the distinction of being the Mother of the MP3.  The original music video, "Tom's Diner," takes place in Tom's Restaurant at 112th Street and Broadway in New York City. Exterior shots of the same restaurant appear in the television sitcom Seinfeld as Monk's, which is the eatery where Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer hang out. The DNA remix of the track was so popular that it inspired many cover versions—the best of which were eventually collected by Vega on an album titled Tom's Album.

And here's the song as I heard it this morning.  Good Times. :-)

Waiting Sucks!

And yes, it truly does!

HBO is having a hell of a time teasing us, by featuring 30 second clips of the 4th season of True Blood, it's almost downright annoying! Ugh!

Earlier this month, they released the 30 second spot of Eric wandering around the forest like he had amnesia or something.  But this time around, they have my favorite hottie, Jason Stackhouse, lying on a bed, badly beaten, and bloody.

Something tells me Crystal's fiance did this.  And something else tells me, Jason is going to become a shape-shifter.

You Just Made Another Teen A Millionaire

While all of you were making fun of 13-yr-old Rebecca Black last week for her song, "Friday," she was slowly counting each .70 cent download from iTunes and laughing her way to the bank.   So while we continue to spread her video which went viral last week, she is amassing her millions according to Forbes.com.  She currently sits at #45 on the iTunes Top Singles chart.

The Ark Music Factory, an LA-based production company who asks for 1,000 or 2,000 dollars from your mommy or daddy, puts together a piece of crap song and video for you, with the hope your little bundle of joy will become rich.  Well, guess what?  You have done that for little Rebecca Black.

So while all of you folks that continue to bash her as seen in the YouTube comments below...

Mind-Boggling News: Pole Dancing For Jesus

Only in Texas, and in a town only 5 seconds from where Ryan and I live, in Old Town Spring, women are pole dancing for Jesus.

Yesterday, CNN, courtesy of our local station, ABC13, featured a story on this very topic.  Set to Christian music, church-going women spin and slither around poles, as you can see in the video below.  But the instructor and the students say it's not about sex.

"God gives us these bodies and they are suppose to be our temples and we are suppose to take care of them and that's what we are doing," instructor Crystal Dean said.

Ahem, Crystal, I don't think he meant to ride a pole, like a stripper on Friday night.  But for all those ladies who are interested, the instructor doesn't charge you on Sundays, because she don't believe on making a profit on the Lord's day.

Chris Brown Destroys Studio on Good Morning America

A lot of good those anger management classes did for Chris Brown,  he lost his marbles on Good Morning America this morning.

Visibly frustrated and full of anger, Brown tore off his shirt, broke through a glass window with a chair, and briskly walked the streets of New York shirtless.

All it takes is a little push of a button to send this young man off.  He then proceeds to tweet, “I’m so over people bringing this past shit up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bullshit.

I don't know about you, but this boy has some serious issues.  I'm guessing "Dancing with the Stars" will dismiss him from his performance next week. It was only a  matter of time, before he did something stupid.  He is currently on probation, so you know what this means?

See what started it all...

Remember - We Still Have The Cheapest Gas

With gas prices going up, and people complaining day in, and day out, on how President Obama and our government are screwing with us. Remember, you could be paying $8.04 a gallon, as in the U.K.  People fail to understand that the demand for gas is high; we have more people driving. Not to mention the conflicts occurring in the Middle East, this too is a contributing factor.

So instead of listening to Sarah Palin rant on the "$4-Per-Gallon President," Ben Jervey (Contributing Editor, Environment) decided to take a closer look at gasoline prices around the world. Mrs. Palin might be interested to learn, that the world already has quite a few $4-Per-Gallon Presidents. In fact, the world already has $6-Per-Gallon Parliaments, $7-Per-Gallon Prime Ministers, and $8-Per-Gallon Presidents!

Outrageous Products: Ab-hancer

I swear, there's ridiculous products, then there's plain stupid.  I don't even know where to begin with this.  I'll just let the photo speak for itself.

If only it were that easy.

Well hey, at least there's adjustable straps. I guess that means "one size fits all."

Can "The Voice" Bring Back Our Diva, Christina Aguilera?

Quite Fascinating...

If there were ever a job that could bring someone back from the brink of self-destruction, it would be "The Voice."  This may be Christina's saving grace after all.  The show is title is such, because the judges are literally with their backs turned to the singers, and only get to hear their voice.

Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine will be the judges on NBC's new show, set to premiere on April 26th.  Oh, and Carson Daly will be playing the host.  You may remember me blogging about it 3 weeks ago, and I wasn't to keen on the idea of a new singing competition, especially during American Idol, but I may have a change of heart.  Maybe.

I'll be honest, after watching the promo and learning more about the show, I got a little intrigued.   In the promo, Adam Levine explains, “The biggest difference between this show and all of the other vocal competition shows is that it’s a blind audition…Remember the ’70s? There were some sketchy-looking people that had gorgeous voices.

Can this save Christina?  You be the judge...
