Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

How To Explain Gay Rights To An Idiot

There are so many people in this country who try to associate our rights with those of a pedophile, animals, or marrying a tree, that we don't know how else to explain to these idiots the difference between inanimate objects or people that are alive.  So a big thank you goes out to the very bright individual who wrote the following post, and my Facebook friend, Brett Daminski for posting it on his wall.   The moment I read it, I knew I had to share it with my blog readers.  I Absolutely love it!

Explaining Gay Rights

If We Legalize Gay Marriage It Will Open

Yes, someone really debated me about the toaster on the basis that you could give your own possessions consent to marry.
Now let's move on...
That is inequality, the following is not...

How To Pick Up A Chick?

I think they titled this video wrong.  It should have been "How not to pick up a Chick".

And another thing...

What is it with straight guys and big butts?  I never understood that.  Please, I need an answer to this age-old question.

If The World Were A Village of 100 People: Issue No. 15 - Literacy

This is the 15th poster out of the 20 posters I have shared with you over the past several months.

Every week I have been asking, "What if the world were a village of 100 people?"  And by using statistics based on the spread of the population in the world, Toby Ng Design created these posters as another way of looking at how our world is today.

Our Future Is In Their Hands - Take 6

Do not attempt to have your kids attempt this at home, for fear of scalding themselves with extremely hot substances.  But if these little kids can do Expresso at home, I'm sure you can too, right?  Provided you can afford to buy the $5,000 Expresso machine.

Loving One Another - Issue No. 001

Another great series I started on Peter's Daily Blog in 2007 that I will slowly introduce to my BLADE 7184 readers every Monday.  As the issues progressed I included a quote along with each picture, much the same way as my Kiss of the Week series on Thursdays.

Here is the inaugural issue of Loving One Another.

Laugh of the Day: The Button

Omg, too freaking hilarious!!! Okay, I'm not sure if any of you have ever seen the movie, The Box, starring Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella, but if you haven't, this will still crack you up.  Definitely today's laugh of the day.

In the movie, a small wooden box arrives on the doorstep of a married couple Norma and Arthur (Diaz and Marsden).  Moments later, a mysterious stranger (Langella) delivers a message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world, someone they don't know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, the couple find themselves in the cross-hairs of a startling moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.

In today's laugh of the day, a similar situation occurs, but it doesn't quite work out as the mysterious stranger hoped it would.  The guys from picnicface.com created this parody, and it's definitely quite funny. Check it out.

Riot Gear Through The Years

Oh, how the times have changed.  A look at our country's riot gear as of 1968.
Just as the styles of protest have changed from one generation to the next, so have the styles of protest policing. Technological advances, training innovations and changing attitudes toward the right to assemble have all shaped the way the police handle the challenges of large demonstrations. During the 1960s and ’70s, police officers treated many protests as a threat to the social order and responded with brute force. In the 1980s and ’90s, demonstrations tended to be less confrontational and the police responded with more accommodating tactics. - The New York Times

How To Open A Padlock With An Aluminum Can

I'm definitely not showing you anything illegal ...  And... I'm in no way showing you how to break into a storage facility so you can take a buttload of crap with you. LOL.  Sorry, I need to protect myself. :-)

Not only, does weblog ITS Tactical give you step by step instructions on how to do it, they have an instructional video as well. You don't even have to know the combination to one of them. How snazzy is that?  All you need to do is finish drinking your beer out of an aluminum can, grab a pair of scissors, a few locks and you can practice.

No, really.  That's all you need. An aluminum can, and you'll be able to break some name brand padlocks in no time.

The Refrigerator Thief

I think everyone has experienced it in some form or another.

The "Refrigerator Thief" is in every work place.  And if you haven't spotted it yet, wait till you get out of college and start working in the corporate world.

This anonymous author felt compelled to go even further, but then again, I might have done the same thing if my food kept disappearing.

Blade's Box of Jams: Track #12 - Our Deal

Currently listening to...
Best Coast
Have a hanky ready.  I've been wanting to post this for a while.  The music video below by Best Coast features several young Hollywood stars, Chloe Moretz from "Kick-Ass," Miranda Cosgrove, from "iCarly," Alia Shawkat from "Arrested Development," and Tyler Posey from "Teen Wolf."

The video, produced and directed by Drew Barrymore follows Moretz and Posey who play the romantic leads in the film.  They fall in love at first sight, much like Maria and Tony in West Side Story (which by the way Ryan and I saw for the first time this week).  Of course, it's never as easy as it seems.  You have these two lovebirds who are on opposite gangs falling for each other.  The film has a perfect way of moving you in-between the scenes, giving you hints through graffiti along the way. Definitely a pretty song. Very Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story, and Rebel Without A Cause.

SNL Exclusive: Politcs Nation With Al Sharpton

LOL, absolutely hilarious!  And this is why I don't watch this show on MSNBC.  Half the time I don't think Al Sharpton knows what he's talking about.  Him and that damn blueberry pie, I swear!  He does have one thing right in this clip.  Republicans do have rocks in their heads.
