“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Inside Our Mother's Womb

A word is never uttered throughout the video, yet a commenter states... "this was really good, until the God part".
Regardless of one's view on religion or a higher being; You have to admit this video is pretty darn cool.  Whether you're a parent or not, this is how we all developed in our mother's womb; Which begs the greater question...

Why on God's green earth would a parent disown their gay child?  Better yet, a mother?

Must Watch: President Obama Singing "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga

What better way is there to start a Wednesday morning than to hear President Barack Obama sing Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"?

When I saw this video on my Facebook news feed this morning, I about died laughing.  It was funny, but pure genius. Thanks for sharing Josh Helman.

Must Watch: Lady Gaga Got Married on New Year's Eve

Well... she "married the night" on New Year's Rockin' Eve with Dick Clark.

Prior to the ball drop, Lady Gaga started her performance with Heavy Metal Lover in an octopus-looking costume, but later emerged out of that when she performed Marry The Night, and finished off with Born This Way.

Shortly after her performance, Gaga and the Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg flipped the switch to start the ball drop last Saturday night, and it was pretty darn cool.

Personally, I think there's no better way to end the year than in your own home state and city of New York.  Love or hate her, she was fabulous!

Check out her New Year's Eve performance below:

X-men Were Born That Way

Yes, according The Warp Zone, the X-Men were born that way.
There's a new music video parody out, and this time around it's the X-Men dancing and singing to a rendition of Lady Gaga's, "Born This Way."
The video starts off with the lyrics appearing at the bottom of the screen, "It doesn't matter if you love men, or the X-MEN" and then goes on to say, "Just put you're claws up.. cause baby... you were born that way..."  Absolutely hilarious.  "I'm a mutant not gay, I think God made a mistake, but I'm an X-Man baby, I was born this way"

Perform This Way by Weird Al Yankovic

The moment everyone's been waiting for!  Weird Al Yankovic's parody to Lady Gaga's, "Born This Way," titled "Perform This Way."

You may recall, back in April I wrote a post on how Gaga "lost it" when she was asked about the comparison between her and Madonna.  She simply yelled out, "That's retarded!"  Then a few days later, she chewed off Weird Al's head for making a parody of her song.  I suggested back then that she probably would be heading to Rehab soon, which was truly not the case.  She later apologized for any misconceptions she, and her manager may have had about the song, and gave Weird Al permission to use it however way he pleased. Here's there video:

Lady Gaga Performs at EUROPRIDE 2011

Over the weekend, the lovely Lady Gaga was in Rome, Italy for the largest gay pride event in Europe - Europride 2011.  She performed her hits "Born This Way" and "Edge of Glory" to an astounding crowd on Saturday night at the ancient Circus Maximus.  Both the performances were acoustic versions of her songs.

According to a must read article on MSNBC:
Lady Gaga told the crowd she is often asked "How gay are you, Lady Gaga?"

"My answer is: 'I am a child of diversity.'"

She also proudly cited her Italian roots — saying she was really named Stefania Giovanna Angelina Germanotta.

Cover Wars - Issue No. 2

UPDATE: Sam Tsui wins cover war! - See Comments

Last week, I started my new series, "Cover Wars," and I had so much fun putting it together, I even designed the headline pic up above.

The premise behind "Cover Wars" is to get your opinion on who you think is the "best of the best" when a YouTube artist performs a cover to a popular hit, like Adele's current song, "Rolling in the Deep" or Madonna's, "Like A Prayer".

This week's battle song is Lady Gaga's, "Born This Way". Currently one of her number 1 tracks, Gaga's Born This Way album hits stores on May 23rd.

For the second round of my new series I have chosen 6 people or duos to battle it out, Sam Tsui, Tyler Ward feat. Alex G.
, Wesley Avery, Peter Hollens, Marius Gröh from Germany, and Ben feat. Josh.

Who do you think will win this war?

Sam Tsui                       Tyler Ward featuring Alex G.

Wesley Avery                               Peter Hollens

   Marius Gröh                               Ben featuring Josh

Admit it - you gotta love this kid!  He proudly sings Lady Gaga's, "Born This Way," and does a fabulous job dancing to it too!  Banana and all, he should be on Ellen.

Lady Gaga Goes Country

Yes, you read that right.  Lady Gaga has remade her cover of "Born This Way" to appeal to another audience - our country music friends in Nashville and beyond.  I guess next she'll be performing at the Grand 'Ole Opry.

Quite astonishingly though, this version is receiving much better reviews than the original, which has been broiled in controversy and parodies; despite all that, the original is still number one.

Even some of the lyrics have changed:
If I wanna make it country, baby, that’s okay,
’cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way
From London, Paris, Japan, back to USA, yeah
I was born on the road, I was born to be brave
Honestly, I'm liking this version of the song.  I love the twang, the slowed-down tempo, and the wailing harmonica, I like it all.  Ryan and I listened to it last night, and I must say, we were both pleased.  Take a listen and judge for yourself...

NOH8 Music Video of "Born This Way"

I can honestly say this video was fun to watch. Several dancers got together and created a routine that is truly amazing.  While the video starts off kind of slow due to their warm-up and practicing, it eventually picks up and you get to see the complete performance. Choreographer Chris Downey created the video and it was directed by both he and Danny Cerny

In the "Celebration of Individuality," I urge you to watch the video.

The thing I liked most about the video is that I could not tell who was gay, lesbian, straight or transgendered and that is the thing - it doesn't matter who we are, nor should we be judged or subjected to treatment as second class citizens, because of our sexuality, race, gender or how we measure up to notions of beauty.

A Totally Awesome Born This Way Remix

Truly a magical gem, DJs from Mars has created a remix for the ages.  They took Amii Stewart's beats from the very popular 60's song, "Knock on Wood," and blended it with Lady Gaga's, "Born This Way."

Who's knocking on who's door now?  Take that, and express your-f*king-self is what I have to say.

Justin Bieber sings Born This Way by Lady Gaga

What do you do when Britney Spears is on your ass, releasing these 2 second teasers everyday until her music video (forgot the name of it) premiere?

Release your lyrics to "Born This Way" to the whole world so that everyone can make their own covers; they sound somewhat decent.  But that is exactly what Lady Gaga did.  Everyone is up in arms about her release tomorrow, including my partner, Ryan.  I'm just sort of blah about it until I hear the song.  If Britney couldn't impress me, I'll wait to see what Gaga can do.

Well... in order to tease America and the world even more, Ellen incorporates James Blunt and Justin Bieber to perform their own versions Gaga's, "Born This Way" on national television.  Their covers, including Ellen's very own rendition are in the video below, enjoy.
