Daddy's Hands
My father taught me how to take an engine out of a car, take it apart and put it back together. And being a Farmer's son, you can only imagine the chores I had to do. I am blessed to have a father who accepts me for who I am, loves the man I have been with for the past 8 years and inspired me to be the man I am today. I love you daddy, and the hands I will always find comfort in. Happy Father's Day!

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: The Closet
Today's Saturday Morning Coffee Break is another great film I posted back in 2009 on Peter's Daily Blog. At under 3 minutes, the film is really strong and shows how a short film such as this can still make quite an impact.
I fell in love with it then and still in love with it now.
In the film an old man recalls the moment that defined his life, in which his attraction and friendship with a neighboring boy is crushed by the boy's homophobic father.

Must Watch: Robinsons 'Pals'
Why is it that everyone makes cool advertisements but us? Oh wait, we have this diet coke commercial I posted earlier. Lol.
The following British commercial for the juice drink, Robinsons, starts off with two friends hanging out with each other. As the day goes on, they kick the ball, run after each other, and play Star Wars. When the day reaches it's end, the two boys call it a night.
Are they friends or something more... The outcome will surprise you. Check it out.

A Very Special Moment - Issue #9: Dance With My Father Again
For those who watch Ellen, you probably already know she's sent her staff to the Philippines to find young a boy by the name of Alrich Talonding. She recently invited him to sing on her show.
The young boy has become a YouTube sensation after a video appeared of him singing Luther Vandross's, "Dance With My Father Again". And if you've never heard of the song, it's one of the most emotional and heart-wrenching songs you'll ever hear. It's about a child who misses his father who passed away, and who's mother's pain embraces him. Lyrics are at the bottom.
"Dance With My Father Again"
Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He’d make me laugh just to comfort me
Then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
‘Cause I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
Sometimes I’d listen outside her door
And I’d hear how my mother cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I pray for her even more than me
I know I’m praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don’t do it usually
But dear Lord she’s dying
To dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

The Joys of Being a Parent: I’m The Dad That Draws On Sandwich Bags
And the award for "Best Dad" goes to....
David Laferriere.
This special Dad has been drawing on his kids sandwich bags for over 5 years. His kids don't see the images until they sit down for lunch and look to see what Dad drew for them on that particular day. I think it's one of the greatest things I've seen online for quite some time.
This is definitely what The Joys of Being a Parent is all about.

The Joys of Being a Parent: Angry Dad Goes Easter Egg Hunting (contains some NSFW language)
I just love this segment! For what would we be if it were not for our parents? Lol. I know that Easter is behind us, but I had to post this video. It was too funny not to.
A son thought it was a clever idea to go into his dad's wallet, take out $200 and stash them into 10 plastic Easter eggs. Only thing is, Dad has to go and find the eggs. And he wasn't very happy doing it.
The family chihuahua, Peanut helps in the Easter egg hunt.

Are People Really This Stupid? Issue No. 28 - I'm Pregnant With My Dad's Baby
This just boggles my mind.
I know I've been gone for a month, but the stupidity still lingers on... I didn't know whether to post this as part of my "What A Hot Mess" series, or this one. I guess they're both one and the same. Well... not all the time.
Seriously? You hypocrites, haters (or whatever you call yourself these days) don't want Ryan and I to get married, but this is somehow okay? Oh, but it happened in the Bible all the time, so it's okay. Or is that the part where you can have multiple wives?

Facebook Shooting Father & CPS
Back in February I posted a video of a father who scolded his daughter by destroying her laptop. And it wasn't just a simple disassembling of the device, he did it by shooting the crap out of it. LOL. If you don't remember, you can see the video here.
Well ever since that happened, Mr. Tommy Jordan has welcomed guests to his humble home; Child Protective Services and ABC Good Morning America to name a few.

“Yes they came. Of course they came,” Jordan exclaimed. “They received enough ‘Oh my God he’s going to kill his daughter’ comments that they had to.”According to the article I read this morning, A CBS poll found that 78 percent of the public agreed with the Father's actions, 10 percent felt he went too far by shooting the laptop, and the remaining 12 percent thought that the way someone acts as a parent is nobody's business. What do you think? Did the father react appropriately? What would you've done differently?
“At the end of the day, no I’m not losing my kids, no one’s in danger of being ripped from our home that I know of,” he added.

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: The Wedding Dance
If you haven't had your coffee this morning, go grab a cup, and come back to watch this short film. It was absolutely amazing. I have been wanting to share this video since it was released last month, but I needed to find the right time. And today's the perfect day. So, even if you don't drink coffee I hope you enjoy today's Saturday Morning Coffee Break. Oh, and grab your tissue box too.
On Valentine's Day last month, Elliot London, a 31-yr old director trying to make it in Hollywood, released this three-minute film titled, "The Wedding Dance". It has a surprise ending and truly hits close to home for so many Gay Americans. You can read more about Elliot on his Vimeo page and learn more about his dreams and aspirations to help the LGBT community. Learn about his growing up poor, being an only child, and terrified of the day when his fellow classmates would find out his deepest, darkest secret - that he was gay.
I'm here wishing you great success Elliot, and hope your dreams come true. ~ Peter aka Blade7184

Ahhhh, "The Joys of Being a Parent" with a kid in college. LOL. And if you don't have a teenager attending one yet, expect it soon, because this is what it's like. This was absolutely hilarious, but absolutely genius at the same time. Way to go Dad. LOL.

Laugh of the Day: Get a New Daddy
OMG! LMAO! Okay children, so if you're not happy with your Daddy, here's a sure way of getting yourself a brand new daddy! I stumbled across this video several years ago, and as stupid as this may sound, it was actually quite funny.
I started ROFL when the kid took shirtless pics of himself with a Polaroid camera and placed them in his mother's dresser. Just another sure way for mommy to get rid of his father and "Get A New Daddy"
