“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Chess

Chess is absolutely one my favorite board games ever!  Although, I usually find myself playing the computer on my iPad, because my loving partner, Ryan doesn't like playing with me. LOL.

But if I had someone in the background watching a game with me and someone else, and they were screaming "hoorahs" every time a move was made...

Let's just say, it wouldn't be so funny.  Lol.

Some Pretty Cool Stuff - Issue No. 005

Now, here are "Some Pretty Cool Stuff" I would like.  I mean, think about never owning "live" fish again!  Ryan and I have a Koi Pond and we used to keep a 40 gallon aquarium in the house, so you can just imagine how much work that can be.  I know this is only on my 5th issue, but I've actually come across some pretty cool stuff, don't you think?  I hope you like this series as much as I do, because it's fun posting them every week.  Hey, who knows? I may introduce you to something you never heard of before. :-)

Bar Games Drink Coasters
Okay, I don't go out to bars anymore, and even if I did, I don't think I would have the time to sit and play with games at the bar.  But I wouldn't mind having this at my bar at home - provided I had a bar at home. LOL.  Well, let's just say when Ryan and I move into our new home I would like one, and these could sit on the counter. These unique coasters contain 30 amusing games, ranging from “I Spy” to “Peanut Darts”; so you'll have plenty to talk (and laugh) about, up to your very last drink! They come in a set of 30, made of 85% recycled paper pulp - so they're good for the environment and your drunk friends and family! :-) $12.99

Electronic Goldfish in a Bowl
As I mentioned earlier, it takes a lot of patience and work to raise live fish.  Ryan and I have a Koi Pond outside and it's one of the most costliest things we ever got ourselves into.  And the same thing goes for raising fish in Aquariums.  But alas, some of you are lazy and forget to feed the little dudes. And you're probably ever so tired of all the toilet bowl funerals. But what if there was an easier way to enjoy a goldfish without having to worry about food? There is (woo hoo!) and it is the Electronic Goldfish in a Bowl. Put fresh batteries into the top, push the base decoration into the bowl, fill the bowl with water, and put the top back on. Tap the top and the fishy "swims" around - looking quite alive. $19.99

What To Cook? Dice
I love to cook, and often times I'm stuck not knowing what I want to cook for dinner.  In the end, my philosophy is you can never go wrong with Chicken, so I just pick that and go from there.  But what if you could throw some dice and let them make the decision for you?  Provided you had all the ingredients.  In either case, their
a delightful addition to any kitchen - make a game of cooking, mix it up, get creative, get inspired.  Each set (because you know there had to be a set for Vegetarians) of 14 handmade dice come packed in a handy re-purposed spice jar.  You have your basics - from eggs, rice - to the exotic - hot chiles, fennel, bok choy. includes grains, veggies, herbs and (in the omnivore set) meats too. $20.00

Goldeneye 64 in Real Life

This blog is for my gamers.  You know who you are.  The ones who stay up till 3 in the morning with the controls in their hands, as you sit there crushing zombie after zombie.  Dont lie.  lol.

I have no idea who or what is Goldeneye 64, but the fan-made video below does remind of the games Ryan used to play, so I had to share it.  It was quite humorous watching the player inadvertently kill the character Natalya several times before getting to his destination.

Gyroscopic Self-Leveling Pool Table on the Cruise Ship "Radiance of the Seas"

I'm not sure how many of you have ever played Pool, but it is one of my favorite past-time sports.  Yes, I call it a sport because it's recognized as part of the family of cue sports and games.  Yes, you can click on that link to read up on it's history.  I'm here to write about this really cool pool table on the "Radiance of the Seas" cruise ship.

This has got to be one of the most fascinating things I've seen.  I, personally have never seen anything like it, but the table is self-leveling.  Meaning, it is Gyrocscopic - the table will remain level regardless of how rough the seas get.  It is mechanically engineered to move with the ship.
YouTube: As the ship moves the pool table adjusts so that the billiard balls don't move at all, even in rough weather. If you look closely you can see that the balls remain still as the table moves, enabling you to play in almost any conditions..

2011 in Gaming: The Year in Under 2 Minutes

You know I couldn't leave the year without saying a little something about the gaming community.  I don't understand much of it, but one thing I do know, my partner, Ryan loves it.

Ryan doesn't know this, but when he gets around to reading this he will be surprised.  My intention was to get him a Playstation 3 for his birthday and it didn't happen, not because I didn't want to get it for him, but because - I don't know, call it a sign from God or whatever. But there was only one in the store when I went to purchase it, and and it was an "open box".  Meaning, someone had returned it at one point.

I told the clerk I would go ahead and take it if everything was in there, and he assured me it did.  So when I went to pay for it up at the front desk I told them I wanted to take a look inside, and sure enough there was a game missing.  There was supposed to have been two games with the bundle.

So I was stuck with the decision of either purchasing it as it was, going to another store and buying it, or simply forgetting about it. I chose the latter, and simply never bought it.

The reason I never did, was because Ryan and I will be reaching a milestone in the new year and it's something I will share with you in a later post, but suffice it to say - it is definitely for the best.

As I mentioned earlier, I don't get the gaming community much, but my partner Ryan loves it, and if he loves it, then I support him.  I grew up in a world of Atari and the original Nintendo, whereas he grew up in the world of Xbox and Playstations 1, 2 and 3. I was used to games like Centipede, Donkey Kong, and Pac-man.  When I played the original Resident Evil on Playstation One, it terrified me. LOL.

In either case, here's an amazing tribute to the 2011 gaming world, in under 2 minutes.

From YouTube description:
2011 has been a watershed year for gaming in almost every way. With an overabundance of terrific AAA titles and creative low-budget indies, developers this year boldly took the medium into new territory. This is a salute to their work, and all the terrific interactive experiences we had in 2011.

Battleshots - The Battleship Drinking Game!

Now, why didn't I think of this game when I was in college?  This would've been fucking funny as hell.  Hell, it would've been fucking fun!!!!  I'm so trying this whenever I start drinking again.  Well... if I ever drink again. LOL.

Shakespearean Insults

Do you want to insult your friends, but don't want to use curse words to do it?  Do you want to talk back to your parents, because you're not getting what you want?  Well, you don't have to wait any longer, you can now use this handy Shakespearean chart to help you insult them.

The next time your friend tells you you've gained a few pounds, tell them you "frothy, flap-mouthed, foot-licker!" and the next time your parents tell you that you can't spend the night at your boyfriend's house, snap back at them and say, "you tottering, motley-minded, hugger-mugger!"

The First Four Words Apply To You...

Too funny, my first four words were, "Bay," "Sentimental," "Love," and "Passionate."  What are your first four words?

LONG, LIVE, PLAY

If you're a gamer, you will absolutely love this.  I'm not a gamer, but I have played my fair share of Playstation and Nintendo video games over the years.
The following commercial by PS3 titled "Michael" is truly amazing.  I'm only familiar with a couple of the characters they brought to life in this advertising campaign, but I'm sure others will appreciate the creative geniuses behind this ad.

Isn't This The Truth? Air Hockey

Omg! Isn't this the truth? I'm ROFL at this chart, because it's so damn true!  How many times have wanted to play air hockey and you wound up having to borrow money? For me, too many to count.  And how many times have you played air hockey, scoring more for your opponent, because you slam the puck into your own goal?  For me, happens all the time!  I can keep going, but I'll let the chart make you laugh at yourself. LOL.

I have organized my blogs with 3 days worth of postings, so if you wish to continue reading the days before that, and so forth and so forth, you can click the "Older Posts" button /\ /\ /\ right /\ up there.
