It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 10 - Turn Up the Geothermal Heat

I want to add mirrors on my roof so that the sunlight can reflect inside.  Then again, we hardly ever have many lights on in the house.  And if I had a flat roof, I would plant grass, flowers and trees on it - it's all about being geothermal, right?

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!

10. Turn Up the Geothermal Heat

With clever engineering and an elegantly simple design, Diane von Furstenberg reinvigorated women's fashion in the 1970s with the wrap dress. Can she do the same for a building? Her newest project is a 35,000-sq.-ft. office, showroom and retail store in Manhattan's trendy meatpacking district, all heated and cooled by water pumped from deep underground. This geothermal system taps into water that is a relatively stable 55 degrees farenheit and transfers that heat to warm the building in the winter and cool it in the summer. The building's roof is covered in easy-to-maintain plants and grasses, and has two heliostat mirrors, which track the sun and direct its rays into the building, reducing the use of artificial lights during the day. Who says being environmentally conscious can't be cool—and hot?  Check out all the awesome pics, and updated story on Diane von Furstenberg's showroom and retail store here. [Updated

Must Watch: The Old Samurai

I'll be honest, I've never been much for Samurai or martial arts movies.  It wasn't until I met my karate-judo husband that I grew fond of them.  Hell, I can watch Hidden Tiger, Crouching Dragon any day!  LOL.

But seriously, this short film is only 6 minutes long and it really is a work of art.  I commend Benjamin Wong for creating a masterpiece.  Not one word is uttered throughout the film, but the message is loud and clear.

After a lifetime of war, an old samurai is challenged to an epic showdown with a young ambitious samurai, his worthiest adversary yet. Battle is imminent, but the past could prove to be the old samurai’s undoing.

A Good Clay to Die Hard

This is for all you Die Hard Fans and for my sister, Victoria who has a fascination with Bruce Willis.  God knows why.

In either case, it's a pretty funny clay stop-motion trailer for the new Die Hard movie out in theaters.  Enjoy!

My Christian Thoughts - Premiere Issue: Alfie's Home

Honestly, this has got be the most atrocious thing I have ever seen in my entire life.  We start today's new series, "My Christian Thoughts", with a book titled, "Alfie's Home".

It's a Sunday and most people are at church.  I know, I know.

Ironically enough, I used to be a frequent church-goer as a child - and way into my teenage years.  Taught Sunday School, led hymns even gave one sermon.  I wore a suit and tie often, carried around my Bible and even spread the Word of God to fellow school mates in and out of school.  What happened, you ask?  Nothing happened, I just realized the truth.  God created me as I am, and he loves me as I am.  He made me who he wanted to be.  I've said this many times before, I didn't wake up one day when I was four years old and say, "I think I want to be Gay today".

It's people like the author of this book that terrify me.  And I'm sorry to say this, but most Christians & Republicans believe in this manner.  No, I'm not sorry - most Christians & Republicans DO believe this way.

Earlier this month, PFOX (Parents and Friends of Gays and Ex-Gays) and the Family Research Council submitted a brief  that states that gays and lesbians shouldn't be a "protected class" under the law because homosexuality is something that can be changed or corrected.  So to show evidence, they provided this children's book.  I about threw up.

Alfie’s Home was published in 1993 by Cohen’s International Healing Foundation. [Image Excerpt Source]

The book starts with a picture of the protagonist on a boat with his dad.
But it goes bad fast, going right for the right-wing myth that homosexuality is caused by childhood sexual abuse…
…and by insufficiently attentive parents:
Eventually, Alfie seeks help and takes part in the “touch therapy” advocated by Cohen…
…which leads him to “realize that I’m not gay” and start dating a woman:
Oh and by the way, I was raised by two loving parents who were both excellent teachers and the most amazing people in the world. They taught me to cook, clean, change the oil, work on farm, write, read and most importantly love. And while some gay boys are molested as children and teenagers, most are not.  So to hell with this author - along with the images and story he's trying to convey.

Back In The Day - First Time On The Computer

This video is only 5 seconds long, but OMG - it's hilarious.

So what's it like after so many years on a typewriter, only to find out the boss has provided you with something new and innovative?   A new computer! Oh my!

Continuing alphabetically, I bring you this week's poster, "Pessimism".

Your Weight In Outer Space

So here's a little something...

If you ever wanted to weigh less than what you weigh here on earth; Let's say 160 lbs. for example.  You may want to go to Mars where your weight would hover around 62 lbs..  Better yet, go to the Moon - you'll weigh 26, but whatever you do - don't go to Jupiter, you'll weigh a whopping 424 lbs.

Check out this chart provided by houseofhands, and find out how much you would weigh?

A Very Special Moment - Issue #2: So God Made A Gay Man

My partner Ryan just showed me a video that we both thought was going to be a parody to an ad that aired on Superbowl Sunday.  But quite the contrary - it was a video that was beyond astounding, simply amazing and quite incredible.

So while I know that on Sundays I post "A Very Special Moment" video, I couldn't wait to share this on Blade7184 and Facebook today.

Please take a moment to watch and listen to these words, "So God Made A Gay Man"

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: The Young Prime Minister

I haven't posted a Saturday Morning Coffee Break since June of last year, and since I'm back in gear with my blogging, there's no time like the present to return.

June's issue was a major tear-jerker, because it was a true story.  And while this one may be fictional - it happens in real life.

Some of us boys grew up in major cities, small towns, or even a farm.  And no matter where we were born, there was always that one little boy who wanted to wear those pink shoes or pink shirt, and when he did - all hell broke loose.

But not this time!

This is a cute short - hope you enjoy.

If you wish to look back at some previous issues, click my logo below and enjoy.  And make sure to check out Saturday Morning Coffee Break every Saturday for another classic or current gay short film.

Down For The Count

I'm going to go with - everyone has seen Quentin Tarantino's movies.  If you haven't, you're missing out.  They're quite fabulous.  Here's a neat chart titled, Down for the Count, which shows the Body Count and what the weapon of choice was.

For the movie buff in all of us. :-)

Laugh of the Day: How to Write the Perfect Valentine

Look, I know for some of you it's hard to come up with the right words to say on Valentine's Day.  That's okay, it's not for everybody, but here's a sure fire way to accomplish what you need to do.
Go to a dollar store and buy two Valentine's Day cards.  Buy one with a sweet and loving statement, and the other with a generic statement on it - like Happy Valentine's Day or something.  Take this card, and transcribe the words from the "sweet and loving" card underneath the generic statement.  Ta-da!! You got words your sweetheart will remember forever! LOL.  Oh, and don't forget to write, "Bianca," "Bradley," or whatever your partner's name is - above the generic statement.

Here - I'll let the video explain it for you, because it's absolutely hilarious!

The One Spanish-Speaking Video You Wished You Had Seen...

When I first saw this video a few months ago, I cried because I understand the love and compassion these two boys feel for each other.  I know, because I've been with Ryan for almost 8 years and our love continues to grow with each passing day.  But I couldn't find the time to translate the words into English for you guys, and also my blogging days were in remission.

But today, on Valentine's Day no less; I have found the same video with the words annotated in English.  The boys speak beautifully in Spanish, so maybe that's why it makes it so emotional for me, I don't know.  But the overall message is pretty clear - These two boys love each other.

The video is titled "I Love You" (Yo Te Amo) - It deserves a look.

Enjoy.
