Movies to Watch - Game Change [Premieres this Saturday on HBO]
"One of the most memorable moments of Election Night in 2008 came when Sarah Palin joined John McCain after his concession speech. As she walked onto the platform Palin looked visibly angry, not someone resigned to a loss but someone still ripe for a fight. Apparently the reality of the situation had yet to sink in and Palin was still in campaign (i.e. pit bull) mode. What prompted her anger was later revealed by political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin in their best-seller "Game Change" and acts as the climax to the HBO movie based on the book that premieres this weekend. And, yes, she was pissed." [edge]

People who have already seen this movie are raving about it, but it doesn't come without the backlash from the folks on the right - the Reds. To put it in simple terms, instead of people placing aside their political differences when watching this film, there's the pre-conceived notion that Hollywood was being biased in the making of this film.
Well, I kinda have to agree with that; Where's the first part of the book by Halperin and Heilemann? You know - the part where Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were at each other's throats? But place this aside for the moment, because we all know that a majority of the REDs would agree that Palin wasn't fit to handle the job. And even more were weary of her becoming President if something would have happened to John McCain. But going back to the book the film is based on - more than 300 people were interviewed who were involved in the McCain/Palin campaign, so it begs the question, how could it be false if all these people were involved in the campaign?
Watch the trailer, it's definitely is an award-winning film and makes for must-see-TV. It's definitely something Ryan and I will be watching this Saturday night on HBO - 8PM Central

ARACHNOTOWN
I sure hope whoever lives in this small town of 8,000 people doesn't have Arachnophobia, because it looks pretty darn scary. Did you get that? If you have a fear of spiders do not view these photos.
A town in the southeastern part of Australia had to evacuate because of rising flood waters, but they're in for a big surprise when they all return. After everything is said and done, they're coming back to their yards covered in webs and SPIDERS! And lots of them. Read the full story here, and check out the photos below.

It feels like I was just telling this story to a group of friends on Monday during dinner. It was about a time when I was in college and living in the dormitory. I can't even count how many times this happened to me, but while my laundry was drying, some bozo would go in and take it out when it wasn't even dry yet. Boy did that piss me off, but what really did it for me was when my bath towels went missing. All hell broke loose. Have you ever had any of your clothes or towels gone missing while in college?
This notice is NSFW, let me repeat... NSFW. This means if you can't handle vulgar language - don't read it, because this girl is really PO'd. And I don't blame her one bit.

Last Night KARA Stunned a Nation and The World
As you all know I'm not big on gaming. It never was a hobby, nor was it ever entertaining for me. The most I've ever had fun playing growing up was Pac-Man or Duck Hunt. LOL. But this has got to be the best gaming trailer I have ever seen to date, and I have seen many.
Quantic Dream, the maker of this amazing piece of work released the following video last night as you were probably sleeping. LOL. I didn't even know about it, until I saw it in my inbox from Ryan (my partner) this morning.
The company has been hush, hush ever since their successful game, Heavy Rain was released, and gamers everywhere have been curious to know what they've been up to. And OMG, even though this is just a tech demo, it clearly shows that this company has the ability to create something so stunning and emotionally riveting at the same time. The video was only meant to show off the company's technological advancement, but now everyone is hoping they would consider making this into a game.
KARA has truly touched my heart, and now, millions more. View it here...

WTF Has Obama Done? - Issue No. 023 - Government Efficiency
What is government efficiency? Well it's doing your best by finding success in reducing government operating costs when you get elected into office. And President Barack Obama has done just that by managing to cut government expenses by the billions. This can be done by simply using different software or hardware in different departments, reversing the Bush-era no-bid and single-bidder contracts in order to find the best contractor who can do the best work for the least amount of money, and so forth.
Today I will introduce you to a broad policy, a specific cut, and a targeted action by this President and his administration. By providing these open government efforts it helps keep spending under control, and this is what we want in a President.
The President's Management Advisory Board is a council of 17 corporate executives from leading American companies. Its purpose is to provide the administration of the executive branch advice and recommendations on effective strategies for the implementation of the best business practices on matters related to federal government's management and operations, with focus on productivity, the implementation of innovative methods, customer service, and technology. The board will be chaired by former Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Director Jeffrey Zients as part of the General Services Administration of the Executive Office. As of July 2010, appointments to the board have not been announced. [Read More-1, Read More-2]
Obama is expected to announce the freeze during his State of the Union address Wednesday, officials said. He will also extend a ban he imposed last year on paying bonuses to political appointees, according to White House aides.
“The president recognizes and we all recognize that the nation faces some really difficult choices,” an administration official who asked not to be named said. “Families are making tough choices, businesses are making tough choices. The president is simply asking political appointees who want to be part of government to be more careful and more responsible with taxpayers’ dollars.” [Read More-1, Read More-2]
"My Administration is committed to eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in Federal programs, including reducing and recapturing erroneous payments a commitment I reinforced in Executive Order 13520 of November 20, 2009, and in a memorandum to the heads of executive departments and agencies (agencies) of March 10, 2010. While identifying and recapturing improper payments is important, prevention of payment errors before they occur should be the first priority in protecting taxpayer resources from waste, fraud, and abuse. In those cases where data available to agencies clearly shows that a potential recipient of a Federal payment is ineligible for it, subsequent payment to that recipient is unacceptable. We must ensure that such payments are not made.
Agencies maintain many databases containing information on a recipient's eligibility to receive Federal benefits payments or Federal awards, such as grants and contracts. By checking these databases before making payments or awards, agencies can identify ineligible recipients and prevent certain improper payments from being made in the first place." - Barack Obama [Read More]

Cut salaries of senior White House aides.
President Barack Obama is extending a freeze on the pay of senior White House officials for another year and he’s spreading the freeze to top political appointees across the federal government, Obama aides said Tuesday night. Killer Whale Submarine
Imagine if an Orca (Killer Whale) was coming straight at you while you were jet skiing at your local lakeside resort. Not that you would run into an Orca in a lake, but if you had one of these coming at you - you would. LOL. Check out this pretty cool invention...
The folks over at Hammacher Schlemmer have designed a watercraft that travels underwater and over. It is designed after the famous Orcinus Orca. According to their website "it can hydroplane up to 50 mph over the water's surface and it can cruise up to 25 mph while submerged; its dorsal fin's integrated snorkel ensures air supply to the engine up to a depth of 5'."
You can watch the video below, it seems like a lot of fun. So for those who have plenty of money and you enjoy jet-skiing or boating, you will definitely love this $100,000 beauty.

Are People Really This Stupid? Issue No. 24 - Mother Grizzly and Her Cub Charge Photographer

The other day, a Grizzly scared the crap out of a woman photographer, and this time, the guy in the video below was trying to capture some good visuals when Mama Grizzly and her cub, started charging him. I like how these photographers think. "I'm here to take pictures of you, but if you come after me, I'm going to kill your ass." How 'bout you stop invading their privacy and go on your merry way? Jesus!
You'd think he knew the story of Timothy Treadwell. Both he and his wife were eaten alive by a bear? Not much was left when they were found

The Launch of a Lego Space Shuttle
For any lover of space or science fiction, you will love this fantastic video! The music and the whole idea of it was just impressive. It's heartbreaking to know that we will no longer hear of our Space Shuttle or when the next launch date will be. I never realized how much this would affect me, but the Space Shuttle program started and ended in my lifetime. I was in 8th grade when the Space Challenger exploded and it was the greatest tragedy I had ever experienced. Who knew that a toy could make me feel so much nostalgia.
In the following video Raul Oaida used a helium-filled weather balloon to launch a Lego Space Shuttle to an altitude of 114,000 feet. He explains why he did it and how much effort went into completing this project on his website.
In the following video Raul Oaida used a helium-filled weather balloon to launch a Lego Space Shuttle to an altitude of 114,000 feet. He explains why he did it and how much effort went into completing this project on his website.
YouTube Description: My name is Raul Oaida (from Romania) and this is my LEGO tribute to the end of the space shuttle era. Proving that although retired, this machine can still fly, albeit in toy form.
The launch took place from central Germany (easy flight clearance) and reached a max altitude of 35000m. A 1600g meteo balloon filled with helium was used alongside a GoPro Hero, Spot GPS and of course Lego Space Shuttle model 3367.
We launched it on the 31st of December 2011, the equipment was recovered via GPS tracking 240 km S-E from a remote area.
I wish to thank Steve Sammartino for the opportunity to do this project and the german airtraffic control for the understanding.

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 07 - Hang Up a Clothes Line
The Global Warming Survival Guide
I can't remember how many times I had to go outside and pull down all the laundry from our clotheslines after my mother hung it out to dry in the morning. It was one of those chores I hated doing when I was growing up, but I did it. Well, I had to. LOL. Ironically enough people still do it, and it's a sure-fire way to save on electricity and the environment. So yes, how we dry our clothes is one of the "Things We Can Do To Save The Environment".
Giving credit to TIME, I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can meet these goals. And yes, even one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU! - Peter aka Blade7184
7. Hang Up a Clothes Line
You could make your own clothes with needle and thread using 100% organic cotton sheared from sheep you raised on a Whole Foods diet, but the environmental quality of your wardrobe is ultimately determined by the way you wash it. A recent study by Cambridge University's Institute of Manufacturing found that 60% of the energy associated with a piece of clothing is spent in washing and drying it. Over its lifetime, a T shirt can send up to 9 lbs. of carbon dioxide into the air.The solution is not to avoid doing laundry, tempting as that may be. Rather, wash your clothes in warm water instead of hot, and save up to launder a few big loads instead of many smaller ones. Use the most efficient machine you can find—newer ones can use as little as one-fourth the energy of older machines. When they're clean, dry your clothes the natural way, by hanging them on a line rather than loading them in a dryer. Altogether you can reduce the CO2 created by your laundry up to 90%. Plus, no more magically disappearing socks.
Make sure to follow Blade 7184 every Tuesday for a new issue of Things We Can Do To Save The Environment. Each issue is thought-provoking, informative and may hold the key to saving your children and grandchildren's future.
Feel free to click on my logo above to read the back-issues.
Quoted: Jonathan A. Dublin on Anger & Resentment
“When we are blinded by anger and resentment, we have to come to the realization that the choice to look within yourself and realize that the only way we are going to change the situation is if we change ourselves. Only then will we see things in a different light and begin to make a real difference in our lives, relationships, and our circumstances. People go through life wanting to change things or get different results, but how can anything change if we are not changing the way we think or not approaching things in a different way. An attempt to get different results by using the same way of thinking. Thats what drives people mad. Thats what shatters dreams. THAT IS WHAT ENDS RELATIONSHIPS weather it be a husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, or friend.
Always remember a time when things where good and aim towards that. Do anything it takes. Love that person. Embrace them. Stay optimistic. Dont act on your emotions. Stop and look at things from outside of the trunk you're trapped in. Then do something. Don't wait till you wake up one night in a cold sweat beating yourself up because you never made amends and you never will because you just left roses on the casket of a soulless body that you once knew but will never see again. Life goes by in a blink of a second, dont wait till your eyes are permanently shut.” ― Jonathan A. Dublin on Anger & Resentment

Must Watch: Breaking News! The Three Little Pigs Boil Big Bad Wolf Alive!
Wow, this has got to be the best advertisement I've seen so far this year, it definitely surpasses the 2012 Superbowl ads. The following ad is for The Guardian newspaper over in the U.K., and it uses the famous fairy tale, The Three Little Pigs to demonstrate how their news team would cover every angle of a crime.
So pretty much, the 3 little pigs are arrested for boiling the Big Bad Wolf alive which in turn causes a huge controversy expanding to every social media network available, the public gets in on it, and the pigs go to trial.
Overall, The Guardian covered the crime, did a pretty damn good job getting their message across, and the video has gone viral within a matter of days. You can't get any more awesome than that.

What a Hot Mess: GIVE IT TO YOUR WOMAN - IT'S HER JOB
So imagine finding a sexist laundry tag as you're about to wash your husband's clothes over the weekend. Emma Barnett who works at the Daily Telegraph was about to wash her boyfriend's "new trousers" yesterday when she encountered just that.
The laundry tag has the normal care instructions you're used to seeing, like "machine wash with warm water, blah, blah, blah," but throws in "or GIVE IT TO YOUR WOMAN - IT'S HER JOB." LMAO. What a hot mess!
Emma wasn't too happy, she states she received an over-whelming response when she posted it on Twitter and will soon be releasing the brand's name today.
