Snoopy Does The Shuffle!

Just when you think you've heard and seen it all; Out comes Snoopy dancing to LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem".  Yes, you read that right, Snoopy gets down and dirty with his friend, Woodstock.  And he even gets Charlie Brown to join midway through the song.  But it doesn't stop there!   Surprise guests come on board and get down with Snoopy and the gang!

And I thought the Halloween House, the Ohio University Marching Band, and the Hamsters had it all down.  I was wrong!

Little Munchkin Passes Away

Who doesn't know of The Wizard of Oz ?  It's impossible not to know about it.  We watched it as children, and as adults.  Hell, Ryan even got me the 70th Anniversary Blu-ray gift box for Christmas last year.

Well, unbeknownst to me, Karl Slover, one of only four surviving little people who played the Munchkins in the movie died this past Tuesday. :-(  He was 93.

The four-foot-five Slover, one of the shortest men in the movie, portrayed not only the lead trumpeter in the Munchkins band, but also a townsman and a soldier. The little guy was born Karl Kosiczky in what is now the Czech Republic, the only dwarf-sized child in the family. According to The Washington Post, his father inflicted inhumane treatments to make him taller, burying him in the backyard, immersing him in heated oil until his skin blistered, and attaching him to a stretching machine at a hospital. Eventually, at the age of nine, his father sold him to a traveling freak show. In his 20s, Slover moved to the States and joined a vaudeville troupe called the Singer Midgets, its 30 members becoming the core group of movie Munchkins. Slover was paid $50 a week, a salary lower than Toto’s. 

Later in life, he appeared around the country at festivals and events related to the movie, and was one of seven Munchkins representing all the little people of Oz at the 2007 unveiling of a star dedicated to them on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “He has a genuine immortality,” said 100 Years of Oz author, John Fricke. “Of the 124 little people, he’s one of the handful who got to enjoy this latter-day fame, to have people know who he was and be able to pick him out of the crowd in the movie.”

Growing up on a farm, my sister and I had every pet imaginable. You'd think we were building an Ark. LOL. From ducks, pigs, cows, to chickens, dogs, cats, and yes, even bunnies! They were the most lovable pets ever!

I Had A Wonderful Birthday!

I had a wonderful weekend with my partner, Ryan and had the greatest birthday anyone could ever ask for.  

It's amazing that after all these years together, I still feel the same for him as I did the very first time I laid eyes on him.  Better yet, I love him more today, than yesterday.  We've lived together and been inseparable all these years, and don't regret one moment of it.

I was talking with him the other day, and told him that it really doesn't feel any different turning 40, than turning 30 or 20.  I still feel young, or at least I think I do. LOL.  As for the knowledge I've gained over the years, yes, that has made me a better person.  We only get wiser with age.  I truly believe that by learning from all the mistakes I made during my twenties and thirties, it helped contribute to our relationship being as strong as it is today.

I had a wonderful, wonderful birthday because of you, my dear Ryan, and I Love You! 

I got tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's 'Dralion', The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration on Blu-ray, The dvd box set of '24' and a snowglobe of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.   Not to mention, the wonderful dinner we had with our friends on Sunday night.  Everything was fabulous!

Blog Break

Hello, my fellow blog readers!!!

I just wanted to let you know that Ryan and I will be taking a small break from home and work. Yes, even we need a break once in a while.  

Please feel free to check out my previous blogs while I take a much needed rest!!!  I have some of my favorite categories on the left hand side, but you can also search for whatever you like in the search bar, and by date from the drop down list on the right.  

 If you do find me blogging, it will be on a limited basis and only to bitch about something, LOL.

Hey Granny, How 'Bout You Make Me A Pie?

Absolutely wonderful!  LOL, Julian Smith visits his 95-year old granny, and he wants some pie.  Granny is an absolute hoot, and I love her!! She says it like it is!  

Of course, Julian isn't having any of it, he wants Granny to make him a pie that doesn't consist of strawberries, because he's "deathly allergic" to them.

The "making of the video" outtakes are the best part.  Julian has a difficult time teaching Granny to say, "for pwning noobs".  You can check that out after the jump...

What If An Atheist Was Running For President of the United States?

Would you vote for him?  Probably not, according to this latest poll posted at The New Republic.  Question is?  Will religion play a role in the 2012 election?  I'm gonna say, yes.

The chart above shows the comfort level of voters who indicated they were somewhat uncomfortable or very uncomfortable with the prospect of an Atheist, Muslim, Mormon or Evangelical taking the oath of office.

Please help me understand how our state has elected this man for three consecutive terms?  Oh, I know, the corrupt Republican machine, who is now in the process of redistricting, and finding ways to suppress voters.

If you're Latino or a student, good luck.  Republicans are in control of both houses in this state, so they can pretty much pass whatever they want.  Soon Democrats won't be allowed to vote. LOL, j/k.

During last night's presidential debate, Governor Ricky Perry forgot the third government agency he would eliminate as president.  "Commerce, Education, and the.... um...um... what's the third one there? let's see....Commerce, Education, and the um. um...um.."  Really?  And when the moderator asked him if he was serious, he continues mumbling and still can't remember, which in turn leads him to say, "oops".

So now you know why he never wants to debate when he's running for Governor.  He refused to debate Mayor Bill White of Houston during the last election.

Dropped From Country Music Record Label? Become A Supermodel

So what happens when you're an up and coming country music star, and get signed on to a record label? 

Make lots of money and become a famous Nashville star!!!

Not so much. You become a supermodel and become best friends with a really hot guy named Rodiney Santiago.  LOL.

Actually, Josey Greenwell, the gorgeous country music singer you see on your left, had it all going for him until he was kicked off a record label for being gay.

    "After we had been recording for months, they found out I was gay and dropped me from the record label and debut album wasn't released. I ended up finishing the project myself and spent all that year promoting it myself and trying to get any kind of help I could. They said, "Music isn't ready for something as controversial as you and we sure as hell won’t be the first label to have it."

    I don't think that is true at all and actually think music is READY for someone like me to come along! Music can put someone on such a pedestal and it's up to them whether or not they use that for the greater good and I definitely feel like I am not only strong enough, but now brave enough to be able to stand up for millions of people out there just like me and stand as a role model with my music."

I don't know about you, but I think Nashville really fucked up on this one. Literally. Geezus, this guy is beautiful!

To Troll A Predator... with... Batman

So what do you do when Chris Hansen is no longer around to film "To Catch A Predator"?  Watch Batman's version of it.  LMAO!

OMG, Ryan and I used to love watching this show.  The premise of the show, which aired on MSNBC, was to catch adults preying on underage youth usually around 13-15, through online chat rooms.  Do these still exist?  

In either case, a house would be used to draw these men to it, with the hope that they would meet the teenage kid they were chatting with to have sex.  The decoy, who was either a boy or girl (never really looked like a teenager), was used in the filming of this show.  After inviting them in they would leave to get some "lemonade" or "to change clothes",  and Chris Hansen would pop out and say, "I'm Chris Hansen, with Dateline NBC."

This would spook the predator, but they would rarely attempt to leave without saying a word to Hansen, but guess what?  They weren't going anywhere, the cops were waiting outside for them.  Some of these were preachers, teachers, and fathers with teenagers of their own.  And the things they would say, were "out of this world" ridiculous.

Well... Since Chris Hansen isn't around, Batman has come to the rescue.  Sounds kinda funny, right?  But this guy is actually helping you see a reality which happens way too often.

A man dressed as Batman has been creating fake online accounts and chatting with older men in order to lure them into meeting for sex.  When they show up at an unspecified location, he confronts them with his raspy "Batman" voice.  LOL. Hey whatever works, right?  Maybe this will make the predator think twice before he does it again.  Check out a hero at work...  The online messages are NSFW, it's rather descriptive.

Median Net Worth

It pains me to see close friends and past co-workers having a difficult time finding a job.  And it also pains me to know that I work with a nurse who's daughter just graduated college, and can't find work anywhere.  She has a Bachelor's degree, spent over 150,000 in college loans and no job to help pay that off.  So while Republicans are finding ways to make it harder on students, the elderly, and Latinos to vote in 2012, they are also blocking legislation which could help our college students with another major crisis - their debt.

According to analysis by the Pew Research Center released Monday, younger Americans have been left behind as the oldest generation has seen wealth surge since the mid-1980s.

While it’s typical for older generations to hold more wealth than younger ones who’ve had less time to save, the gap between the two age groups has widened rapidly.

In 1984, households headed by people age 65 and older were worth just 10 times the median net worth of households headed by people 35 and younger.

But now that gap has widened to 47-to-one, marking the largest wealth gap ever recorded between the two age groups.

Sebastian, Kurt and Blaine Love Triangle on Glee

I'm so looking forward to "The First Time" episode on Glee, and I know all you gay boys are too!  As many of you already know, the Dalton Academy has a new gay student and his name is Sebastian.  Oh my! He's a cutie patootie!  So, of course he has the hots for Blaine whom we all know is stuck in a relationship with Kurt.

LOL, just kidding.  Geez. Don't scream!

But seriously, can't Blaine end up with Sebastian?  That would be like so totally hot!  In either case, the new boy is actively pursuing a "married man", which happens way too often in our corner of the world.  And Sebastian has no shame in doing it either, even after Blaine informs him that he has a man, the boy tells him Kurt doesn't have to know. Okay, this is wrong on so many levels, but how right is it?  

So let's see... if you see an "Ugly Male" with a "Beautiful Female" more than likely, "He Is Rich."  If you see a "Handsome Male" with another "Handsome Male," more than likely, "He's Gay".  No Business.

Check out this handy little tool, copy it, laminate it and place it in your wallet.  And the next time you come across ugly and beautiful people, you will have something to measure them up to.

How To Tell If Your's Son Is Gay

The new Android app called, "Is My Son Gay".  Has been causing a lot of fuss lately, but I think it's actually kinda funny.  The questions are absolutely hilarious and stupid.  

For example, "Are you divorced?, Does he like football?, Before he was born did you wish he would be a girl?, Does he like Diva singers?, Does he have a tongue, nose or ear piercing?"

No, I didn't download the damn thing.  But I did want to share this hilarious list by Richard Lawson over at Gawker that I found was more in par with finding out if your son is gay or not.

• If you come home from work and you hear noises upstairs and you go up to investigate and your son's door is open and you catch him "hooking up" (as kids call it today) with his friend Michael, and you quickly turn around and walk back downstairs and later that night over dinner you say "You know, honey, if there's ever anything you need to tell me..." and he says "Mom, I'm gay," then your son is gay.
• If your son has recently gone to college and hasn't been in touch much and you figure hey he's new to college, he's busy making friends and whatnot, and then late one night he calls you on the phone sounding upset about something and you ask him what's wrong and he's quiet for a while and then says "Nothing's wrong, really, I'm just... Dad, I'm gay," then your son is gay.
• Has your son ever been on a long drive to one of your daughter's swim meets with you and when stopped at a red light he's turned to you and said "Mom, I feel like I owe it to you and dad to tell you that, well, Donald is my boyfriend. I'm gay"? Then your son is probably gay.
• Chances are that if you are on your deathbed and your estranged son comes to visit you in the middle of a rainy night and he sits by your bed quietly until he begins to cry and clutches your hand and says "I wish I'd told you sooner that I'm gay" and then you both stay there in silence, you pretending to be asleep, the only noise the beeping of the machines that will only keep you alive for a little while longer, your son is gay.
• If you and your spouse are ever visiting your son in the big city he now lives in with all his fancy friends and fancy restaurants and you're out to an awkward lunch before your train home and you three get into another pointless fight about years-old stuff and it's really uncomfortable and finally you or your spouse says "Well, if you'd just settle down with the right girl, I think-" and then your son interrupts you by yelling "Guys, I'm GAY. Gay gay gay, gay as gay gets. Have you seen where I live, I mean... God you two are thick. I'm gay. Deal with it," and then you sit there uncomfortably until the check comes and he gives you stiff hugs at the train station and you don't see him or talk to him until Christmas, then he is gay.
• If your wacky son brings a boy home for dinner after play practice and you two are joking while you do the dishes and he says to you "Hey Ma, so... I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is!" and then you laugh and muss his hair and in the living room your husband shows your son's boyfriend his model ships, then your son is probably gay, though he might be bisexual, so be careful about labeling.
• If your son ever says "Oh my goodness," when surprised or when opening a gift, well then yeah, he's probably gay.

What a Hot Mess: Facebook Friendship Goes Up In Flames

I suggest the next time you try to remove someone from your friend's list on Facebook, you not give them your address.  Otherwise you'll end up with no house, and possibly a dead husband next to you.  What a hot mess! Literally!

Yep, Jennifer Christine Harris pictured here, went all psycho on Jim and Nikki Rasmussen, after Nikki and Jennifer got into a dispute on Facebook, that ended their friendship.  According to Detective Jack Kamerick, the dispute had much to do with a Facebook event the former-best friends were planning.

"Jen asked Nikki to create an event on Facebook for a party.  Nikki did as suggested, and as the date for the party approached there were a lot of 'declines,' on Facebook. It was looking like the party might be a bust. The dispute apparently blossomed." according to the Detective.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 34 - It Takes A Year For Puppy To Put Himself Together

Yep, it takes a puppy a full year to put himself together.  Hence the reason, this fabulous chart was created. So that you can see that without enough vitamin D and Calcium, a puppy's legs could grow crooked during his first year.
