“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

In Honor Of Those Who Served...

In honor of those who have lost their lives while in service, check out this amazing video of a house decorated in Red, White and Blue Christmas lights.
Since 1775, over 1.3 million American troops have made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you and please visit SemperFiFund.org to help give back to those who protect our freedom.

The last I heard, Christmas was a celebration of Jesus' birth, not American troops. I disliked this because it's an abomination of the true meaning of Christmas. Nice light show, patriotic, moving, but nothing to do with celebrating Jesus. In my humble opinion.

We've got 4th of July, Memorial Day & Veterans Day to show our thanks, respect and support for our veterans & troops. Christmas should be about showing our thanks & respect to Christ.

Wow, is this a fight brewing between Conservative Christians? On one hand you support our troops, and on the other you support Jesus, how do you pick and choose? If you say something negative about this video, I'm sure someone will try to say it's a liberal or democrat. But that probably wouldn't work, because if I'm correct, these same Conservative Christians don't believe Democrats or Liberals love Jesus.

Don't get me wrong, the lights were pretty and all, and the video did have a good point, but I think the real entertainment came from just reading the blog comments above. Oh, and since when did Jesus say to celebrate him with luminous electric light bulbs in the first place? There's no reason to not be able to celebrate the birth of Christ and the sacrifice of our troops together, especially since many will be coming home this Christmas and others won't. Both of them gave up their lives to save us all. Christmas is about sharing love and not hate. It's what Jesus would have wanted, and it's sad that so many people who claim to be his followers still forget that to this day.
