"When i found out that jamey rodemeyer killed himself - i felt deeply troubled. but when i found out that jamey rodemeyer had made an it gets better video only months before taking his own life - i felt indescribable despair. i also made an it gets better video last year - in the wake of the senseless and tragic gay teen suicides that were sweeping the nation at the time. but in light of jamey's death - it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality. our society needs to recognize the unstoppable momentum toward unequivocal civil equality for every gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered citizen of this country. gay kids need to stop killing themselves because they are made to feel worthless by cruel and relentless bullying. parents need to teach their children principles of respect and acceptance. we are witnessing an enormous shift of collective consciousness throughout the world. we are at the precipice of great transformation within our culture and government. i believe in the power of intention to change the landscape of our society - and it is my intention to live an authentic life of compassion and integrity and action. jamey rodemeyer's life changed mine. and while his death only makes me wish that i had done this sooner - i am eternally grateful to him for being the catalyst for change within me. now i can only hope to serve as the same catalyst for even one other person in this world. that - i believe - is all that we can ask of ourselves and of each other." zq.
OMG, are people really this stupid? Geezus Gazeebus!
I know, I know, those aren't words, but who does these things? Oh, I know... this guy, Michal Navratil, who's kinda hot by the way.
The swimmer does an un-imaginable double gainer backflip off the roof of a hotel in St. Maarten.
I'm going to assume, he took the time to calculate the chances of hitting the rocks below and the ones underneath the water.
It's sad, but true. Like 'em or not, the last 3 presidential debates simply were not fair when it came to allotting time to each of the candidates. But we see this way too often, it happens during the Democratic debates also. It's whoever is the flavor of the month, or who's riding high on the polls. Let's see how much time they give Herman Cain next time around.
Okay, call me stupid, but I actually sat here and watched this bird attempt to cross the street. According to it's YouTube description it reads:
In Panama this duck kept trying to cross the highway on foot and the police kept having to rescue it from disaster. Eventually they left and the insane duck tried to cross the road again... See what happens...
Yes, I know. Don't ask.
A commenter posted this comment after watching the video: "Well, it's not a duck, it's a cormorant and it probably didn't fly because it's wings were wet - they are diving birds and are not waterproofed like ducks are (otherwise they could only bob in the water and not dive). After a dive, they need to dry out before they can fly. Darned luck bird!"
So far the season for new television series have been kinda blah. Hell, Ryan and I still haven't been able to grasp on to The X-Factor and Dancing With The Stars. There are so many shows coming up like The Walking Dead, which premieres tonight, and Spartacus early next year. We already watch Glee which airs on Tuesdays, Harry's Law which airs alongside Modern Family on Wednesday nights. And we also watch Dexter and Boardwalk Empire which airs on Sunday nights, I mean, the list goes on.
But there's one new series I'm really curious to see. Since Pan Am, Terra Nova, 2 Broke Girls, Whitney, The Secret Circle, Revenge, and Ringer have all gone on the way side, and teetering towards cancellation, American Horror Story shows promise.
Check out the first 5 minutes of this pretty amazing show that started 2 weeks ago.
