It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 22 - Skip the Steak

I don't think giving up steak is on my list of helping the environment, but if it's something you've been thinking about doing, then by all means - quit it.  Seriously; all the cows in the world are warming up our planet faster than the millions of cars we drive in.  But it isn't just the cows - it's the sheep, buffalo and any other animal that takes a crap and releases nitrous oxide.

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!
                                                   ~ Peter aka Blade7184

22. Skip the Steak

Which is responsible for more global warming: your BMW or your Big Mac? Believe it or not, it's the burger. The international meat industry generates roughly 18% of the world's greenhouse-gas emissions—even more than transportation—according to a report last year from the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization. Much of that comes from the nitrous oxide in manure and the methane that is, as the New York Times delicately put it, "the natural result of bovine digestion." Methane has a warming effect that is 23 times as great as that of carbon, while nitrous oxide is 296 times as great.

There are 1.5 billion cattle and buffalo on the planet, along with 1.7 billion sheep and goats. Their populations are rising fast, especially in the developing world. Global meat production is expected to double between 2001 and 2050. Given the amount of energy consumed raising, shipping and selling livestock, a 16-oz.T-bone is like a Hummer on a plate.

If you switch to vegetarianism, you can shrink your carbon footprint by up to 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide a year, according to research by the University of Chicago. Trading a standard car for a hybrid cuts only about one ton—and isn't as tasty.

How I See My Dog

The Oatmeal has given us a couple charts on how we see our dogs and how our dogs see us.  They're pretty spot on. Lol.  You can see the other side, after the jump.

How I See My FriendBeast by The Dog

So here's the flipside of the diagram The Oatmeal shared with us earlier - this one is by The Dog.  Want to know how it views it's "FriendBeast"?  Take a look. Lol.

How Humans Eat Their Food

LMAO.  You remember that viral video I posted two weeks ago - the one showing How Animals Eat Their Food?  Well, Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues have turned the tables on them; With a short video featuring an animated hippo and alligator.  It begs the question... did you ever stop to think that maybe animals think how WE eat is funny?

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 62 - How Animals Eat Their Food

So this is my first-ever issue of "It's Purely Animal" where the subjects are not animals; In fact, they're human.  But I guess you could say we're all animals in a way. LOL.

I'm posting this viral video on my blog, because everyone and their mother has seen it.  And they find it quite humorous.  It's "eh" for me, but quirky I suppose. LOL. Check it out.

Okay, the flamingo and the rhinoceros were kinda funny.

Things That Make You Go Hmmm... Dogs Smarter Than Cats?

Dogs can understand about a two hundred word human vocabulary while a cat only comprehends about fifty words.

"I'll teach my dog 100 words," says the boy in the children's story of the same name. But can he really? Dog owners love to gush about canine intelligence. So it would come as no surprise to them that research supports their beliefs that dogs have a profound mental capacity. But how much of our language do dogs really understand? It turns out that the language comprehension of some dogs rivals that of apes and parrots, not to mention the average 3-year-old. [read more]

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 61 - Ferrets Go Nuts Over Packing Peanuts

This video is too cute.  It reminds me of my first experience with a ball pit, LOL.  Watch as these ferrets go crazy when they discover the joy of packing peanuts.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 59 - The Photo Bombing Dog

Our dogs would so do this.  I can't count the number of times our 4 chihuahuas photo bomb our camera while we're recording a video or taking pictures.  Just recently I was posting a video on YouTube and there was our chihuahua, Lady, photo-bombing away.

Checkout this Craigslist apartment listing where this cute dog has managed to photo-bomb every photo in the ad.  Too adorable.

Isn't This The Truth? The Science of Dogs

The following chart is too hilarious, but oh so true.  Think about it...  When are dogs afraid of bears, snakes, oncoming traffic, or in mine and Ryan's case, bigger dogs?  Never!  But bring out the Vacuum Cleaner and they run like a bat out of hell.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 58 - Meet Chris P. Bacon

I'm a little behind with the timing of this video, but not too far.  Chris P. Bacon is a celebrity now.  He's been in the news cycle for the past month.  Little Chris here was born without the use of his hind limbs, but this little guy is no quitter!  One YouTube commenter wrote "is the pig unhappy".  And the owner gleefully replied, "of course not, I wish I had his life... talk about pampered!"  The video is too darn cute.

I do my best not to cook with pork for the sake of my partner Ryan, and watching this makes it even harder.  I love piggies!

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 57 - Polar Smashing Bear

Now, this would definitely scare the hell out of me.

Imagine going to the Antarctica Zoo, Sea World, The Amazon, or Africa and while you're talking to your buddy about last night's conquest, a Polar Bear swimming in the aquarium inches from you, approaches the glass to say hi.

You don't pay attention to him, so he decides to throw a rock at you, shattering the glass behind you.  My thoughts are... 1) you run as fast you can out of the building, 2) continue talking to your buddy, or 3) stay put and tape the damn thing.

Not a hard decision is it? LOL.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 56 - Why Lambs Should Never Be An Indoor Pet

So yeah... Lambs should never be indoor pets. What do you think?  LOL.

Well, they are kinda cute, bumping heads, jumping over couches and what not.  I guess if one can have a piggy as a pet, why not a lamb; or two or three?

Enjoy the video... It's Purely Animal.

My Dog is Family

I've mentioned it before so many times, but you will never truly know the joy of having a pet; loving and caring for one, until you have your very own.  I can't name the countless times of seen people give away their dogs, just because they can't afford to feed them, or they're simply annoyed by them.

I'm sorry, but that's unforgivable.  They should have known what they were getting into.  These dogs grow to love and crave for your attention.  They have feelings.  True, we are human, but that doesn't make them any less family.  Somebody should've given those people away.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 54 - Love The Panda

Did someone say Panda?  Who doesn't love Pandas as much as I do?  All they do is eat Bamboo all day, and lounge around - living the good life. LOL.  I spotted these pictures online last week and wanted to share them with you.

If you're curious to see Baby Panda go from
this to this,

then you'll enjoy the rest of the pics.
Have fun!

ARACHNOTOWN

I sure hope whoever lives in this small town of 8,000 people doesn't have Arachnophobia, because it looks pretty darn scary.  Did you get that?  If you have a fear of spiders do not view these photos.
A town in the southeastern part of Australia had to evacuate because of rising flood waters, but they're in for a big surprise when they all return.   After everything is said and done, they're coming back to their yards covered in webs and SPIDERS!  And lots of them.  Read the full story here, and check out the photos below.

Roommate Rants About Missing Food

So what do you do when you start missing food from your apartment?  You go online and start to rant about it, right?  So take a look at what sneaks in through this guy's window as he rant's about his roommates stealing food.  The video capture is priceless! LOL.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 52 - Dolphin Stampede

Now this is absolutely fascinating.  I guarantee you will never see anything like this in your lifetime.  What the hell am I talking about, how am I guaranteeing it?  It's a Sunday, forgive me.  I'm sure that most Californians would probably see this if they were out boating or fishing for some reason.

A huge, and I mean huge pod of dolphins were spotted off the coast of California last week and it is truly an amazing sight to see.  While I've seen many dolphins in my lifetime, I've never seen anything like this.

Well here you go, all it takes is a little reading and obviously you can see them in your lifetime.  So I guess I should say "a majority of you" will never see this in your lifetime.  Absolutely fascinating to say the least.
YouTube Description: http://www.danawharf.com A huge common dolphin pod in front of the Dana Pride! We see whales AND dolphin daily!
