Can Texas Secede From The Union?

Our wonderful Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, has threatened to secede from the Union many times, and yet this nut job doesn't know it never can.  Don't ask me why he's our Governor; I ask myself that every day.  Lol.  Actually, I'll tell you why, it's because of all the itty bitty towns you see in red to the West, North West, East and North East.  And a few in the South.

All that aside, one of my favorite YouTube Vloggers, CGPGrey is back.  He explains that by law, Texas can divide itself into 5 states, but secede?  Not so much.

Daylight Saving Time Explained

It's that time of year again.  Time to move your clocks forward one hour.  Yep, you'll be losing an hour of sleep and an extra hour at the bar.  LOL.  How many of you actually know why we even have Daylight Saving Time?  

If you've ever been curious, this video does a great job of explaining it.  The questions is... should we even have this ridiculous time change every six months, year after year? 

From the same guy who brought you  "2012 & The End of The World," comes this excellent video on Daylight Saving Time, and quite frankly, I learned more about Daylight Saving Time than I ever thought I knew.  Hope you enjoy it.

I know that most of you have wondered why February sometimes has 28 days and sometimes it has 29.   In short, if we didn't add that extra day into our calendar every four years you'd literally be celebrating Christmas in July.  No, really - you would.

My favorite information guru is back! And I'm happy to say I was right on some of these myths.  I remember hearing some of these crazy tales when I was a kid in the Boy Scouts, especially the one about the Daddy Long Legs in the showers.  Little did I know they were talking about a different type of Daddy with long legs. LOL.

Last month, CGPGrey gave us a rundown of the10 most common misconceptions we often fall for.  Before that he explained the primary election process, 2012 & The End of The World, Death to Pennies, Daylight Saving Time, and Coffee: The Greatest Addiction Ever. U.S. Military bases around the world have already abolished the penny by rounding to the nearest dollar.  So why keep them?

Coffee: The Greatest Addiction Ever

Caffeine is an insecticide that actually kills or paralyzes bugs munching on it's tree.  It doesn't kill us, because we would need about 90 cups of coffee to equal the same amount of pain the buggies endure, and even then we pee it out constantly, so the chances of us dying from it are slim to none.

This is pretty cool video - it's only 4 minutes so I recommend watching it. Where does Caffeine come from?  Who drinks it the most?  How is it grown?  These are just a few of the questions the video answers for you.
