Foods That Will Make You Fat - Issue No. 21
Can you believe I've posted 21 issues of "Foods That Will Make You Fat"? It seems like just yesterday when I started this series. I wonder how many of you have changed their eating habits over the past several months. I know I have. I'm currently on the TicTac diet.
Just kidding. I'm not on no diet, but I am making a better judgement on my food choices and trying to eat healthier. Trust me, if you were to eat half the crap I post on this site, you wouldn't be alive today.
What more could you ask for in a cheesy sandwich? In this delicious sandwich you have your 2 oz of unsalted butter, 1-1/2 oz. of Mayonaise, 1 cup of your favorite macaroni & cheese recipe, 1/4 of small onion cut into 1/4 strips, 2 teaspoons of butter (regular butter this time), 1/2 cup of pulled piggie meat, 1/4 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce and 3 slices of sharp cheddar cheese. Oh and I forgot the 2 slices of buttermilk bread. 'Nuff said.
When I first read about this, I almost threw up. Who in their right mind would eat this crap? Really? You know what - scratch that. I vividly remember my sister loving to eat the skin off the chicken. Then again.... we do eat it when we have fried chicken, don't we? So why not sell it by itself, right? Don't worry, KFC will have it available in a sandwich soon.
Look at that sandwich, what can you see? Honestly, all I can see is bread, maybe roast beef, and fries possibly. Well... it actually comes with a bread roll, cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, french fries, and hot sauce. Seriously, how can anyone bite into this? Look at the girth on that sandwich. Geez.
Just kidding. I'm not on no diet, but I am making a better judgement on my food choices and trying to eat healthier. Trust me, if you were to eat half the crap I post on this site, you wouldn't be alive today.

Must Watch: Sue Sylvester Visits 1960's Mad Men
How many of you saw the Primetime Emmy Awards this past Sunday? That's okay, neither did I. But I was able to catch a glimpse of the Emmy opening on Lawrence O'Donnell last night. Thanks to my partner, Ryan who told me about it.
Is is absolutely hilarious. There was a scene where Jayne Lynch (Sue Sylvester) from one of our favorite shows, Glee, walked on the set of Mad Men (another one of my favorite shows) and hits on Peggy Olson (played by Elisabeth Moss).
In the opening number, Leonard Nimoy from Star Trek fame tells Lynch that he is convinced she is the “logical choice” to host the Emmys this year, then warns her against letting the audience know that “we all live in this one building.”
Ignoring the warning, Lynch races through the building dropping in on television shows...
When she drops in on the cast of Mad Men, she is asked to fetch some coffee.
“You're hilarious,” she tells Don Draper (played by Jon Hamm). “I'm not a secretary. I'm the host of the Emmys.”
“The Emmys?” Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser) asks. “What you should be doing is learning how to type and firing the guy who gave you that man's haircut.”
“Well, a lot has changed since 1965. In fact, women can marry other women,” Lynch responds.
Turning to Peggy she adds with a wink and a smile: “Hey, Peggy.”
Watch the video to see what else she says. LOL.

U.S. Soldier Calls His Dad To Tell Him He's Gay
As many of you know by now, a policy that discriminated against "my family" was repealed yesterday, never to be heard from again. When I say "my family" I mean to say my gay brothers. This policy reprimanded gays who were in the U.S. Military. Men who have sacrificed their lives for our country... Men who have fought to defend our freedom in countless wars. They are no different than our friends and family who have given their lives to the U.S. Military.
The Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy ended years of pain and heartache for many people in this country and around the world. And one particular soldier stationed in Germany who had something to tell his father...
And that was all I needed to start crying. The soldier was relieved to hear his father assure him that this would not change their relationship.
I have friends whose parents have shunned them for being gay, disowned them for caring, or loving someone they can't live without. I cannot begin to imagine how this would feel - it would utterly devastate me! Furthermore, I don't know how a mother or father could hate their child so much, that they would kick them out of a family they've always loved and known. I just don't understand it. Is this what a Christian is like? Is this what Jesus would do?

"Dad, I'm gay," the soldier uttered into his cellphone. "Always have been and always known forever," he adds. How did his father react? He tells the young soldier, "I still love you son."
And that was all I needed to start crying. The soldier was relieved to hear his father assure him that this would not change their relationship.
