I'm so excited to introduce a new series to my blog, Blade's Box of Jams. From time to time I like to turn-on my headphones at work, and listen to some music. Today is no exception, I'm currently listening to Diamond Rings' "All Yr Songs."
Before I created my blog, BLADE 7184 in January, I posted this video on Facebook, and vividly remember writing that the lead singer may seem strange to most people, but I absolutely love him.
John O’Regan's voice, the group, and the music remind me so much of the glam rockers from the 80's; David Bowie, Culture Club, Erasure, The Pet Shop Boys, the list goes on.

A Slice of My Sister's Diaper Cake!
This past weekend I worked on my sister's Diaper Cake for her upcoming baby shower extravaganza, and I'd have to say I outdid myself - it turned out better than I thought it would be.
I love my sister, Victoria, so very much, and Ryan and I can't wait to be there to share in the festivities with her and her husband Luther.
On Sunday evening, I sent my sister a text with a "slice of the cake (pictured above)," and asked if she wanted to see the whole thing. Needless to say, she was beside herself, and responded by texting, "OMG Peter! I'm going to cry. It looks awesome. NO! I want to be surprised. LoL"
I will post pictures of the diaper cake after the shower this friday. If you want to see the final product before then, you can email me directly at blade.7184.x@gmail.com

X-TREME MACHINES: Sentinel Mod5 MarkC PI
I have posted this because I know how much my partner, Ryan will love it. I didn't grow up watching X-Men, I grew up watching He-man and She-ra, LOL. In either case, Ryan is having me watch the X-men animated series, and he's talked about these robotic creatures before - the Sentinels! Click the image to check out all the cool stuff.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words - Issue No. 6

When I read the words that make up this typography, it takes us back to a time when we were teenagers, or still are, and the wishes our fathers have for us. But it wasn't about what dreams our parents had for us, it was about "OUR" dreams that we wanted to fulfill.
We hear stories, read books, or watch movies about this sort of thing, aka "Dead Poet's Society." We want to make our dad happy by becoming a doctor, when in reality, we want to be an actor. Or like in the reality show, Master Chef, that Ryan and I are currently watching. Many of the amateur cooks who want to win this competition, are professionals who have always wanted to follow their dreams of becoming a chef. I'm talking about doctors, lawyers, and accountants here.
"We all have dreams, we all have wishes, but it's facing them that will make our future."

With The Heat Comes The Dried Up Lakes and Rising Utility Bills
Still think it's not global warming? Check out this picture of a Catfish decaying in a dried up lake in San Angelo Texas, on Monday.
Things are getting pretty bad. When my water bill is hovering around $179.00 and my A/C rounding up around $400.00 in one month, we have some serious problems. Our land is getting scorched at an all time high. Indices this week will be between 105 - 110 degrees according to CNN, some even as high as 112, like in Killeen, TX.
It's so bad I overheard some people wishing for Hurricanes the other day. They feel that if a hurricane comes ashore, we can get all the rain that comes with them; that's desperation folks.
