“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

The Dark Knight Rises: How It Should Have Ended

In June I posted how The Avengers should have ended, and it was absolutely hilarious.  Well, now it's the Dark Knight's turn. LOL.
From the same fabulous guys who brought you Jurassic park: How It Should Have Ended, Return Of The Jedi: How It Should Have Ended, Super Cafe - The Super Social Network, and Super Cafe - Bat Phone, comes this hilarious re-telling of the blockbuster summer movie, The Dark Knight Rises: How It Should Have Ended

Cyanide and Happiness: Internet Yes Indeed

"We Built This" - Think Again RNC

Most Republicans think they got rich, just because they did.  Or they became successful on their own.  I'm not talking about the struggling Republicans who are on welfare and food stamps just around the corner from you, but the hard-working Republicans who think firefighters, teachers, policemen (you know all those who receive funds from the government) should be removed from the system.  Oh wait, even the poor Republicans think that way, yet they don't seem to know that by voting President Obama out of office will be a sure way they will never get their government food stamps and welfare checks. What hypocrites, I swear.  Hell, these people are having a convention in a building that was built with 62% of your government funds.  Oh and I can almost guarantee it was built by "illegal immigrants" too.

I stumbled across a wonderful blog on Tumblr, "Tumbling the Conventions," and I had to share a wonderful statement from author, Jason Oberholtzer.

election:
The theme for the Republican National Convention is “We Built This!” which aims to underline the GOP’s counterpoint to an Obama vagary of pronoun usage last month, where he said the following:
If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
Ironically, this year’s “We Built This!” RNC is being held in The Tampa Bay Times Forum arena, which was built in 1996 with 62% government funds.

Post Secret Fridays - Issue 102 - My Special Issue

It's been a year since I last posted a "My Special Issue" of Post Secret Fridays and 3 months since I posted Issue 101 on my blog. But after watching the video below, I simply had to do it this morning.

The video was posted by the founder of PostSecret, Frank Warren, and it's absolutely stunning. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend watching it. It has definitely made my morning, grateful to have the wonderful life I have, and happy to know I made a difference in many people's lives.

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.
I have organized my blogs with 3 days worth of postings, so if you wish to continue reading the days before that, and so forth and so forth, you can click the "Older Posts" button /\ /\ /\ right /\ up there.
