“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

The New Dallas - Ewing vs. Ewing

I've stated this many times before, and I have no problem doing so. I'm really excited about Dallas returning to Television after more than a decade.  If you're not a Dallas fan, or curious to know more about the new series, check out Ultimate Dallas.com for all the latest updates and news on the new show. The site has an episode guide, interviews with various cast members from the original series, videos, the latest news, and so much more.  I have been a long time fan, and frequently visit the site for all my Dallas info.

Since we're on the subject of Dallas, Ultimate Dallas.com posted a news bulletin this past Sunday answering questions it's readers had asked. I posted a few down below, along with a character synopsis for Christopher and John Ross's side of the family.  For the full question and answer session, you can go here.

Let's begin...
In a nutshell can you outline the plot?  It’s really about the next generation of Ewings. Miss Ellie summed it up very well in season 6 of the original series “Think ahead Sue Ellen, think twenty five or thirty years ahead. I won’t be here then and the fight won’t be between JR and Bobby, it’ll be between John Ross and Christopher

Bobby still owns Southfork and has a battle on his hands both privately and publicly as he strives to save his late mothers legacy. A battle which will tear the family apart. At the heart of the battle are John Ross and Christopher Ewing, two ambitious young men who both want to be top of their game and take the power and influence that comes with being a Ewing.

Like the beginning of the original series there is an element of  the rich and the poor, with less well off characters mingled  into the lives of the Ewing family.

Which of the original characters will appear? Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy), JR Ewing (Larry Hagman) and Sue Ellen Ewing (Linda Gray). Lucy Ewing (Charlene Tilton) and Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly) will make a brief appearance for an event at Southfork Ranch.  Appearing in the lead roles are John Ross Ewing (Josh Henderson) and Christopher Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe).

Who is who in the Dallas pilot?
Let’s break this down.

Christopher's Side

ANN RYLAND EWING (played by Brenda Strong) –  Bobby’s lovely new wife.

BOBBY JAMES EWING (played by Patrick Duffy) – Adopted Father of Christopher Ewing and owner of Southfork Ranch.

CHRISTOPHER EWING (played by Jesse Metcalfe) – The new acumen and entrepreneurial vigor of the Ewing clan. Smart, attractive, effective, he has the guarded eyes of someone who’s already mixed it up with life.

REBECCA SUTTER (played by Julie Gonzalo) -   FiancĂ©e of Christopher Ewing and about to become the next Mrs Ewing.

 John Ross's Side

JR Ewing (played by Larry Hagman) -  Father of John Ross Ewing.  He spent his life building a legacy for his son to ensure they maintain a power-base in Dallas. It’s time to hand over the reigns.

JOHN ROSS EWING (played by Josh Henderson) – A powerful man, he is charismatic, seductive.  He’s his father’s son.

SUE ELLEN EWING (played by Linda Gray ) - Mother of John Ross Ewing.

The Ramos's
ELENA RAMOS (played by Jordana Brewster) – Daughter of the Ewing cook Carmen and girlfriend of John Ross Ewing. She spent her entire life at Southfork Ranch growing up with both John Ross and Christopher.

CARMEN RAMOS (played by Marlene Forte) – Hispanic mother of Elena Ramos and long time Ewing cook.

Angry Man Rips Off Head in New Dodge Ad

Omg! Shame on Dodge for sending such a horrific message!

Poor robot, I can't believe the man just went all Dexter on his ass, and then drives off recklessly through the streets.  What's wrong with this picture?

But.... I did like the futuristic bathroom, kitchen, the clothes changer thingy, bracelet-activated door, and the dog walker :-)

The Trailblazer Campaign Flourishes

The Trailblazer Campaign, established by James Duke Mason continues to thrive as more and more actors contribute to this promising movement.

If you recall, I blogged about James, and his ingenious idea back on April 19.  He started the Trailblazer Campaign to help gay actors, young or old, come out of their shells and be proud of who they are.  James has been a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community for quite some time, and shares his experiences in various articles and videos online.

I'm not sure if there is a website, but I do believe you can can get started here, www.twitter.com/ttcampaign; Also, feel free to take a look at two new contributors (below) to this great crusade!

The first video features up and coming actor, Nicholas Downs from the movie, "Is It Just Me?" and Mike C. Manning from MTV's The Real World, DC in the second.

Where Do You Stand on Regret?

My opinion is that we shouldn't regret things that we did, or do in our lives.  I've always felt that everything happens for a reason and we go through life learning from these things. If I were to regret picking up my first cigarette at 18, or taking my first drink at 22, I wonder where my life would be at this point. It sure wouldn't be where I am now.  If I were to regret ever meeting my previous partner, I would never would have met my beautiful step-daughters.

This topic always takes me back to The Butterfly Effect. The lead character in the movie changed one thing in his life because he wasn't happy with it, in turn disastrous consequences took place - all due to this one thing being changed.   If we were to change one thing in our lives, how different would our lives be today?  Very!  I would never have met my current partner, Ryan.

If you think that at this point in your life you're doing something you shouldn't do, then don't do it; But if you did, learn from it and move on.  If you remove one piece of the puzzle it will never be complete - don't remove pieces from your life.

"Obama and Seals Team 6 Should Be Tried for International War Crimes"

This is what I had the pleasure of listening to on the way home from work yesterday.  Quotes from Republicans on talk radio who want Obama imprisoned, because we all know a majority of blacks are in jail - at the same time giving credit to George Bush for this victory.

As always, I try to respect both sides when it comes to a tragedy or a major piece of legislation is accomplished.  And I continue to do this until something crazy comes up, and sure enough the craziness is out again.

"It's ironic that Obama is our first black president and now he'll be in Jail as well,"

"Seal Team 6 and Obama should be tried for war crimes for violations of international law,"

"George Bush accomplished what he was set out to do - this is George Bush's victory,"

"We went in, took an unarmed man down in front of his wife, where is the respect? They didn't even give him a chance, they just shot him in the head, pop, pop, pop,"

"Obama invaded a country without permission; this is a crime."

"He (Obama) is worse than Osama bin Laden ever was,"

What's with the "unarmed" quote?  Are you people really that stupid?  3000 people were unarmed when the planes hit the two towers, and you want us to give Osama bin Laden a chance to run?  Seriously?  And the notion that we should try our military men, is beyond crazy.  Obviously I can't post everything I listened to on the radio, but during the course of one show a man comes on and says  "Obama went in and killed an unarmed man, who's to say he won't go in to Libya and kill Kadahfi?  He (Obama) thinks he can just go in and kill whoever he wants, he can kill Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, he can kill any of us now"

Seriously people?

I don't know if you recall but in March of 2002, on the 13th to be exact, George Bush offered the following statement, “I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority. I am truly not that concerned about him.

Yet, as you will see in the videos below, President Obama made a campaign promise to capture this evil man.  He was going to make sure to let the American people know he was out to find Osama bin Laden, and it didn't matter if he was in Pakistan, he would go in and kill the bastard.  At first, he debated his fellow democrats who said it was wrong for him to just go in and kill Osama, and with a scathing response to all of them who voted for the war in Iraq, he gave his answer.  In the second video, he corrected John McCain on the issue of the "invasion" of Pakistan.

Answer me this, did we not want Osama bin Laden killed? Dead? Rotting in Hell?

Why are the Republicans spinning this?  I know, and most of you do too, this would not be an issue had it been any other person but a black man running our country - this is a sure bet.
