Wonder Woman by Rainfall Films

If you ask me, I think studios and producers should start listening to their fans to make a Wonder Woman movie.  Lord knows Hollywood can't get it together.

Take a look at this short film by Rainfall Films and tell me it isn't cool.  I think it's pretty darn awesome.  I know most fans will never let go of Lynda Carter or Christopher Reeve for that matter, but people need to be more objective.

The Chicken or The Egg?

This is such a cute and adorable animated short film.  I highly recommend watching it.  Two students, Christine Kim and Elaine Wu who are currently attending Ringling College of Art and Design created this 3 minute video.

"Chicken or the Egg" is an offbeat romantic comedy about a pig who has an EGGdiction to eating eggs. But when he falls in love with the hottest chicken in town, he must choose what comes first... the Chicken or the Egg.

A Very Special Moment - Issue #10: Omelette

This is the cutest and sweetest short film I've seen in a very long time.  And I guess it's even more special because Ryan and I are pet owners.  

For the past 3 years my little Duchess has layed on my chest at night and then snuggled underneath the covers as I fall asleep.  Before that, it was Princess.  And both protected me with their lives; Duchess, even more so.

But this film isn't really about a pet, it's about cooking for someone you love.  You'll have to watch the video to understand.

Laugh of the Day: Two Chips

So are you ready for a good laugh!  Omg, this is too funny.  One day, a husband decides to record his inebriated wife telling a corn chip joke and he turns the recording into short animated movie.  It's only 1-1/2 minutes, and a joy to watch.  Check it out.

Spider: The Scariest Thing You'll Ever See

I'm warning you, this is probably the scariest thing you will ever see.  I'm not one for watching horror flicks or anything gross and disgusting, but Ryan somehow manages to convince me.  Case and point, The Evil Dead, The Walking Dead, Insidious, The Human Centipede - do I need to go further?  In either case, Stephen Saban over at WOW posted this video yesterday and it's horrifying.  It's the eggs, damn you - it's the eggs!
Creator, Landon Meier of the award-winning Baby Head Masks was the genius behind this film.

A Very Special Moment - Issue #8: Good Things Should Last Forever

Talk about a brilliant commercial.  The advertisement below follows a boy and a girl from the moment of their first kiss all the way through their life together, and finishing with old age.  The ad titled, "The Kiss" was made by studio Grey London for Vodafone.  I encourage you to watch it - it will move you.

Must Watch: Spacebound

This short film is about a boy and his small dog who have crash-landed in outer space.  The film isn't so much about what they're going to do with the little oxygen that remains.  But more about what they're going to do together with the time they have left.  Check it out - it's really powerful.

Must Watch: Cargo

I don't even know where to begin with this.  As all of you know I'm a fan of short film, and if this film were up for an Oscar it would definitely take one home.

The movie, Cargo may be a little too emotional for some of you, or it may help you re-evaluate your life and how you treat the ones you love a little differently.  

While there are many shows and movies introducing us the Zombie world, aka The Walking Dead, Evil Dead, and World War Z.  This 7 minute flim packs a punch greater than what The Walking Dead could have given us in three seasons put together.

Take a look at what this father does to protect his beautiful baby girl from the Zombie apocalypse.  He's been bitten, so he has very little time.

So this week I thought I'd pull away from the norm and show a comedic short with gay undertones.  Grab your Java, sit back and enjoy this week's Saturday Morning Coffee Break!

Soren and Dan are your quintessential straight best friends who sit down to go over each other's "Bucket List".  Unbeknownst to them they learn things about one another they probably wished they'd never known. LOL.

For those who don't know what a bucket list is; It's a list of things you wish to do before you die, hence the idiom "kicked the bucket".  Check it out, it's pretty funny.

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: Silver Road

It's time to brew yourself some coffee, kick-back, relax and watch another issue of Saturday Morning Coffee Break.

I posted this video on MySpace four years ago, and the issue focuses on two young men, Danny and Mark who have been friends all their lives until one day they find themselves in the awkward position of saying goodbye to one another.

While many may argue that there's already too many films where one guy  comes out and destroys a friendship - it still happens.  It still happens because our society allows it to happen.  Yes, it's getting easier and easier to come out as each year passes, but there are millions who are still keeping this tiny little secret - and some way into their marriages.  The film, written and directed by Bill Taylor is really good, and I encourage anyone to watch it.
 

Must Watch: The Old Samurai

I'll be honest, I've never been much for Samurai or martial arts movies.  It wasn't until I met my karate-judo husband that I grew fond of them.  Hell, I can watch Hidden Tiger, Crouching Dragon any day!  LOL.

But seriously, this short film is only 6 minutes long and it really is a work of art.  I commend Benjamin Wong for creating a masterpiece.  Not one word is uttered throughout the film, but the message is loud and clear.

After a lifetime of war, an old samurai is challenged to an epic showdown with a young ambitious samurai, his worthiest adversary yet. Battle is imminent, but the past could prove to be the old samurai’s undoing.

Must Watch: The Lego Story

If you're in your 70's, 60's, 50's 40's, 30's, 20's, 10's or even 5, you'll enjoy this video.

Celebrating 80 years, Lego has put together a Pixar-esque video that is pretty darn cool - I really enjoyed watching it.  

The video tells the story of how Lego came to be, and the origin of the famous painful-foot-stabbing bricks.  LOL.  You won't be disappointed.

Hell, If I'm correct, my mom still has my original Legos I played with as a kid.  I need to have a talk with her. :-)

Batman: Nightwing

If you're a comic book fan, or a Batman fan in general, You'll more than likely enjoy watching this short video.  While I'm not a huge fan of Batman, I have seen all the movies.  I'm more of a Superman / Wonder Woman kinda guy :-)

With only a few hundred bucks and not much time putting it together, I think Jeremy Le & Danny Shepherd did a decent job with Batman's sidekick, Nightwing (whos' kinda hot btw) LOL.

Cartier Impresses Viewers with Stunning Commercial

I'm posting this video, because I've already received several messages as to why I haven't done so.  My partner Ryan saw a TV spot the other night while we were watching The Walking Dead, and he thought it was really cool.  Little did he know that Cartier's short film/commercial ran a little longer than than the 30-second TV spot he witnessed (3-1/2 minutes to be exact.).  

The advertisement is quite a magnificent piece of work.  I cannot imagine how much it cost to make, but I'm sure it cost a pretty penny.  Then again if you're Cartier, money is no object.  The stunning graphics, CGI and art will take your breath away, alongside the beautiful Jewelry, of course.  It's no wonder they've been around since 1847.

I Want To Know What It's Like

These outstanding men and women want to know what it's like to feel wanted, loved, and accepted.  And quite frankly so do I.  What is it like to feel like I belong, to feel like I'm strong, that who I am isn't wrong?  What is it like to not feel like a freak, weak, or to be silenced when I speak?  These are the words echoed throughout this short film by Ryan James Yezak.  And what an amazing film it is.

Yezak has released a series of inspiring short films over the last few weeks in reference to his new documentary "Second Class Citizens" and his latest film below is no exception.  Each of these films leaves the viewer with an overwhelming feeling, that we as Americans deserve to be heard, deserve to love who we love, that we matter in a country that doesn't give equal protection under the law.  Thank you Ryan! I will continue to blog about your wonderful work so long as I live.

Must Watch: I Paint

Watch this short film, and if you still think true artistic talent is disappearing, you are wrong.  Meet 25-yr-old Thijme Termaat.  Yeah, I know, it's kinda hard to pronounce.  He's from Holland, but never mind that, focus more on watching this amazing video titled Ipaint.

Thijme says that after graduating from High School, he went to an academy of design school hoping to express his creativity, but instead quit, because his long-life dream was to be a painter.  And quite a painter has he become... check out his amazing work in the video below and on his website.

The Death and Return of Superman

I swear I don't know how I come across some of these videos, but OMG if you're a comic book, superhero fan, Superman fan, whatever, I don't care, just watch this hilarious re-telling of the infamous comic book, The Death and Return of Superman. The short film is narrated by Max Landis, the screenwriter to the movie, Chronicle.

It also stars Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, Morgan Krantz, Matt Bennett, and many more.  Trust me, you are going to love this.

Must Watch: Gay Baby

You all know how much I love my short films.  Well, I'm seriously thinking about bringing back an old series of mine called "Saturday Morning Coffee Break".  It was a series that ran every Saturday on "Peter's Daily Blog" on MySpace where I would usually post gay short films.  I posted some of the best films, and everyone looked forward to them each and every week.

Well today there's no exception, I have to post this great short film titled, "Gay Baby."  It is a definite 'Must Watch'.  It's about a couple who learns their unborn son is gay, and the father quickly gets disappointed. But no worries, the couple go to a baby store where they encounter a gay store clerk who tries to change the father's reaction from disappointment to excitement.  It's a really cute 6-1/2 minute film.  Like I mentioned earlier, it's a definite 'must watch'.
