Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Movies To Watch: San Andreas

While the plot of the movie is so stereotypical - Father goes out of his way to save daughter across the state; The special effects would be something I'd like to see on the big screen.  Poor Californians though, they can never get a break.  If it's not DC getting blown to bits, it's the Golden State falling into the Atlantic.

"Where will you be?  Who will you be with?..."

Check out the trailer to San Andreas

"Don't Give Up, Don't Give In. There's Always an Answer to Everything."  The words from a true American hero who is still alive today.  His name is Louis Zamperini, and you won't know what I'm talking about until you see this powerful and emotional trailer.  Check it out.

Movies To Watch: Diana

It won't be released until the fall, but it's already causing a lot of Oscar buzz.  This and a list of other great movies that are set to be released over the summer and fall.  While many are criticizing Naomi Watt's portrayal of the "People's Princess", I for one, think she looks great.  Check out the teaser trailer for Diana and tell me what you think...

Movies To Watch: The Butler

I'm just loving all these Presidential / White House movies lately.  Last month Ryan and I saw Olympus Has Fallen; This summer in Channing Tatum's new movie, White House Down, we lay witness to almost every national monument being blown to bits, and finally, this fall, Oprah Winfrey, Forest Whitaker, Cuba Cooding, Jr., Robin Williams, James Marsden, Alex Pettyfer, John Cusack, Jane Fonda and many others, star in The Butler.

I'm definitely eager to see this one, not only because of the huge cast, but for the true story of a man who served 4 American Presidents and witnessed 4 decades of American History.  Check out the trailer - it's pretty powerful.  Oscar worthy? Maybe.

Movies To Watch: Monsters University

I thought this promo to Monsters University was darn adorable.  It plays out like a familiar university recruitment commercial, monsters included.

The latest movie is a sequel to the blockbuster hit, Monsters, Inc., out this summer.  I can't believe it's been 12 years since the first movie was released.

Monster's University - In theaters June 21, 2013.

Movies to Watch - Maybe - Carrie

Personally,  I think re-making a classic Stephen King movie such as Carrie is like an amateur producer asking, "Why don't we re-make the musical, Grease?".  Okay, so maybe I'm being a little too facetious.

All kidding aside, the upcoming movie, Carrie looks pretty darn good even though I have reservations about it.  Here's the trailer in case you haven't seen it.  The power of Christ compels you to.

The Wonder Woman Trailer You'll Want To See

Don't lie.  All you gay boys are hungry for some Wonder Woman.  Even you straight folks who are into superheroes or superheroines.
Check out this awesome Wonder Woman trailer my partner Ryan shared with me last night.  You'd almost think that if a fan can make a trailer, why can't Hollywood get their act together and make our damn movie?!?!

Movies To Watch: Olympus Has Fallen

It's no secret I'm a sucker for Presidential politics, or politics in general.  But political movies are my weakness!

Olympus Has Fallen premieres on March 22, and already I cannot wait for this movie to hit my local theater.  The movie revolves around a group of terrorists taking over the White House and a disgraced presidential guard doing whatever he can to rescue the president.

I'm thinking Die Hard and Independence Day, but 20 times better!  Can't Wait!

The trailer is riveting - check it out.

In either case, it's a pretty funny clay stop-motion trailer for the new Die Hard movie out in theaters.  Enjoy!

Movies to Watch: Romeo & Juliet

Screen shot 2013-02-12 at 5.31.08 PM
So yeah, I think I'm ready to watch Romeo and Juliet.  The upcoming movie stars Douglas Booth as the ever so gorgeous Romeo and Hailee Steinfeld, the very beautiful Juliet.

I happen to agree with James St. James, he is the dreamiest Romeo since Leonardo Di Caprio, played alongside Claire Danes in the 1996 film rendition of the same story.

The new movie, is going to be pretty darn cool.  Ryan and I can't wait to see it.  Here's the synopsis...

In the 16th Century, young writer William Shakespeare is grappling with the story of his latest play, Romeo and Juliet. William's vivid imagination hurls him forward in time to Oxford in the 21st Century, where the feud in his play now rages for real - between two rival business families, the Montanas and the Carringtons. William, all at sea in the 21st Century, soon finds himself caught up in his own story...

Check out the 3D teaser trailer below the pics.

Movies in Rewind: We Need To Talk About Kevin

I'm telling you right now, if you haven't seen this movie, don't.  If you do, be prepared.  While the movie is just a movie, it is by far, one that was very painful to see.  Ryan and I watched "We Need To Talk About Kevin" a week before the recent shootings in Colorado, and boy did it hit close to home when we saw the news unfolding before our eyes.

The movie is mostly about a young teenager named Kevin, and his mother, Eva, played by Tilda Swinton.  It tells the story through the eyes of Eva, who deals with an event that happened in the past, but recent enough to where Kevin is about to turn 18.  This particular event is so tragic that it will leave you speechless at the end of the movie.  But what was so sad about this whole scenario being played out before our eyes, was knowing that these things truly do happen.

Ever since this boy, Kevin was born Eva knew something wasn't right, but no one cared to listen, especially her husband.  And as the boy grew up, the more disturbing the situation became.  This was a very powerful movie indeed.

You can check out the trailer below.

Movies to Watch - Maybe: The Blue Lagoon The Awakening

So apparently the only good thing about the Blue Lagoon remake is this guy, right here - Brenton Thwaites.  Not to be complaining, but the original movie was a theatrical release, and not on Lifetime.

Oh, and the Christopher Atkins' character had less clothes.  I think Brenton has too much clothes in these movie clips.  Don't you think?
One more eye candy shot after the jump... and a trailer. Geez.

Movies to Watch: Les Misérables

I'm so excited about next Friday's "Must Watch" musical release of Rock of Ages.  I know, I know... I said back in March that I have never been more excited about a movie musical release than this movie, but I think I may have been a little presumptuous.

Last week Ryan showed me the trailer for a musical coming out this Christmas, and I can honestly say, I have never been more excited about a movie musical release than "Les Misérables".  When I saw the trailer I about died.  I swear, you'd think I was gay. Lol.

It stars an array of actors - Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Sacha Baron Cohen, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe, and many many others.  It's absolutely ridiculous!  In a good way of course. :-)

Check it out... and don't cry at the same time...

Movies to Watch - The Great Gatsby

Hmmm. Who knows? I might actually watch it.  I found the idea of remaking such a great classic rather repulsive, but after watching the trailer to The Great Gatsby, I may find myself liking it.  It is a Baz Lurhmann movie after all.  The movie doesn't come out till Christmas, but the trailer should satisfy your craving for now.  Maybe Leonardo DiCaprio will win his damn Oscar for once.

From IMDB: Nick Carraway, a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. He is drawn into Gatsby's circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy.

The Green Arrow Trailer

As if 10 years of Smallville wasn't enough for the CW, now they've brought on The Green Arrow.

At first I was kinda bummed to hear they got rid of Justin Hartley, the actor who played the character on Smallville for 4 years, but they did good with Stephen Amell.  And I mean really good :-)

Check out the hot steamy trailer featuring the hero himself.  For real - his abs, his biceps, his torso, everything!  You know they're going to have him shirtless as much as possible.

I would still take Harry's Law over this any day. I'm sorry, but I can't believe they cancelled one of our favorite shows.

Movies to Watch: Rock of Ages

What gay boy doesn't like movie musicals?  I can name one off the top of my head, but he shall remain nameless :-).

Of course, my most favorite movie musical of all time is Grease, but alongside that, I love The Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Evita, Nine, Moulin Rouge!, Chicago, Rent, Burlesque, and yes, even Grease 2.  And there's even the animated ones, but the list would be too long to proceed, so I'll get to the point I'm trying to make.

I can't say that I have ever been more excited about a movie musical release, than the one coming out this summer.  Honestly... I was too young to get excited about the release of Grease, and I waited patiently for the release of Burlesque on DVD to finally watch it.  But this summer, "Rock of Ages" is going to rock the hell out of movie theaters for the first time in a very looooooong time.  I'm super excited about this movie.  I guess because the genre of music is from the 80's and the cast singing them are going to be fantastic.  Rock of Ages is based on the Broadway musical of the same name.

Directed by So You Think You Can Dance judge, Adam Shankman, the movie stars Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston, Malin Ackerman, and features songs from Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, and many, many more!  How could this movie possibly go wrong?  Check out the superb cast and movie trailer below, and judge for yourself.  Will you be watching?
