Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Pray For Our President's Death

People often ask me why I'm not harsher towards Republicans in my blog.  And I tell them, because I want to believe that most Republicans are not this way.  At least the Republican people I know or friends I have, are not this way.  As a whole, I think the Republican party is heading in the wrong direction.  And a lot of it has to do with the hate and animosity towards our fellow Americans.  Most of the Repub friends I have, believe in the conservative principles of the party, yet have liberal views as well.

But I'll be honest, It's getting harder and harder to listen to the amount of anger and hate most Republicans have towards our President.  And quite frankly I wouldn't want to belong to a party that would deny another American the right to marry, or deny an American the right to pursue happiness.  I wouldn't want to belong to a party that constantly spews hateful rhetoric or tries to throw religion down our throats.  I wouldn't want to belong to a party that wants to strip my grandparents out of their health insurance that's been working so well for them.  And I wouldn't want to belong to party that boos a gay soldier who would've sacrificed his life for them.  The list goes on.

I wrote this blog today, because of something I read this morning.  It was an article on Kansas House Speaker Mike O'Neal.  Last Friday, he asked his fellow Republican House members via email to pray for our President's death.  That's right, not only is he using God to wish death upon a president, he's advising them to take a knee and recite Psalms 109.
"Let his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow."

Seriously? Why does it have to be this way?  And this is the same man who sent out a previous email saying "Michelle 'Yo Mama'".

I look at Senator John McCain's wife and daughter, Cindy and Meghan McCain, and wonder if Republicans will ever be like them.  Can they ever be like them?  And the answer, quite frankly, is NO.

WTF Has Obama Done? - Issue No. 003 - Immigration

For those who think our President hasn't done enough on Immigration.  You're wrong!  Unlike yesterday and the premiere issue, I'm only listing one WTF today and it's in reference to Immigration.  The GOP should be happy with this one, but you know how it works - the more facts we share, the less right we are.  I will come back to immigration after this WTF at a later time.

Remember, if you feel I wrote something false, please help by letting me know.  If you want to debate me, that will be fine too, but I won't go back and forth for hours trying to explain something that's true or not true.  If you can provide me with an honest rebuttal, I will change my post to reflect what you've told me.  I promise.

WTF-7
Deported higher numbers of Illegal Immigrants

Immigration and Customs Enforcement director John Morton announced that 396,906 people were deported during the 2011 fiscal year, the largest number in ICE’s history.

These year-end totals indicate that we are making progress, with more convicted criminals, recent border crossers, egregious immigration law violators and immigration fugitives being removed from the country than ever before,” said Morton.

While the numbers are historic, they’re not dramatically larger than 2010 deportations, which were reported at “more than 392,000.

As Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano alluded a few weeks ago, 55 percent of the deported immigrants — about 216,700 people — had criminal convictions (felonies or misdemeanors). Overall, the number of criminals deported has increased 89 percent since 2008. [Reference]

Watch Republicans Literally Walk Out on Democrats Yesterday - Lovely

Astounding, simply astounding.  And this is how Republicans address your $1,000 dollars being taken out of your paycheck next year.

So let's see if you got a $1,000 raise this year, you're not going to see it in 2012. You're not!  And if you received a $1,000 Christmas bonus this year, save it. You'll need it next year.

In other words, if you receive a bi-weekly check, your check will be $40-60 less than what you originally were receiving.  Trust me, you'll feel it.  Actually 160 million Americans will feel it.  Watch as the GOP speaker pro-tem, walks out as Democrats are pushing for a vote on the Payroll Tax-cut before it expires this month.

Yesterday morning, Speaker Pro Tempore Michael Fitzpatrick (R-PA), under orders from Speaker Boehner, refused to allow Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer to speak on the floor and ask for unanimous consent to bring up the Senate bipartisan compromise to extend the payroll tax cut. Whip Hoyer and Congressman Chris Van Hollen are continuing to try to offer the Senate compromise even though Republicans walked off the floor. Once again, Republicans are risking a tax increase on 160 million Americans and the loss unemployment benefits for those who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.

What a Hot Mess: G.O.P. is The New Black

As I was driving into work this morning listening to my morning conservative radio, (because you know, that's all you're allowed to listen to in Texas) I nearly got into a car accident.  No, it wasn't because Houston traffic was a hot mess, but rather, a billboard that looked like this...
This precious billboard along with another that reads "Martin Luther King, Jr. Was A Republican" can now be seen in Texas, South Carolina, Ohio, and coming soon to state near you!  Of course, this coming from a man who wears a silly little earring and calls himself a conservative activist.

Oh, and the man has a fascination with Ronald Reagan, as all Republican members of Congress and Presidential candidates do.

Because there was only one Reagan! The only place you're going to find the great Reagan now is in his beautiful tomb at his library, and in the memories of those that lived at the time of his service. There is no other Reagan! And, we should stop looking for such a creature. It's a waste of time. Ronald Reagan was put in the plans of God for just the time that he was needed. Reagan had the beliefs, the temperament, the personality, the skills and everything else that was needed for just that moment in American and world history. For once, 20th Century America got it right when it came to selecting its servant-in-chief. - Claver T. Kamau-Imani
What a hot mess!  I guess Mr. Kamau-Imani forgot that Reagan called the Voting Rights Act "humiliating," fired members of his Civil Rights Commission when they criticized his record and opposed the creation of Martin Luther King Day.  Hmmm, something's wrong with those billboards.

Oh yeah, and Martin Luther King wasn't a Republican.

Time Allotted In Last 3 GOP Debates

It's sad, but true.  Like 'em or not, the last 3 presidential debates simply were not fair when it came to allotting time to each of the candidates.  But we see this way too often, it happens during the Democratic debates also.  It's whoever is the flavor of the month, or who's riding high on the polls.  Let's see how much time they give Herman Cain next time around.

First Major Republican Presidential Debate is No Slugfest

So, on the news this morning, all you hear is who won and who lost in the first major presidential debate of the election season 2011-2012.  In my opinion, the only one who came with straight-forward answers was Ron Paul, even though he's a little nutty.  As for the rest of the group, you can count them out.  Lord help us, if Rick Perry decides to get into this late in the game.  When are people going to learn?!?!

For those who have no idea who's running for the Republican party, here are your candidates so far.
Left to right: Newt Gingrich, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Fred Karger

Oops! They forgot to invite Fred Karger.

Oh that's right. He's gay, he don't count.

The Supposed Winners:

Michele Bachmann?  Really?  Are you fucking kidding me?  I know what it was, it was the fact she said, "I have 23 foster children," not once, but twice.  But supposedly she dominated the stage.  I'm sorry, but after 30 minutes of watching this debacle, I had to change the channel.

Mitt Romney?  Really?  Presidential? Really?  If you're wondering where I'm getting this Winner and Loser data from, it's from this article: New Hampshire Republican debate: Winners and losers.  I don't know about you, but somebody needs to have a talk with Chris Cillizza about this.  Mitt Romney came off as Presidential?  Really?  The only good going for him was that, "no one had the stomach to attack him directly." I do give credit to Cillizza for stating the obvious.

We won't even go to who Cillizza thinks the supposed losers are.  You can go to CNN for that.

Also, Keep in mind: Rick Perry from our own state of Texas, Rudy Giuliani from New York, and Jon Huntsman from Utah, have yet to decide.  Lord, help us.

The G.O.P.'s March to the White House in 2012

As most of you know, President Obama has no Democratic challenger in 2012, but on the Republican side, they have a whole slew of folks they are undecided about.  While some in the chart have already dropped out, the race continues.

The Birther Question

Is it an issue? A couple of GOP hopefuls seem to think so.

The Most Vile Man In The Republican Party

Let's see...

You're against me and Ryan getting married,

You're against me and Ryan becoming parents,

You're against me and Ryan retaining our jobs,

and...

You're against mine and Ryan's friends joining the military.

Hmmm. what else would you expect from a man who has preached from the pulpit for over 30 years?  Who are you to judge us Mr. Huckabee?

Gay people having full equality has no impact what so ever on anyone who disagrees with the "homosexual lifestyle" as you often mention. It changes nothing in your home life, your family, or your church; your life will continue as it always has. You only have to deal with the fact that we exist and we are entitled to the same rights as everyone else. There is no personal toll or impact for you.

When people make moves to limit, remove, or block our equality it impacts our legal and financial standings, our families (especially if there are children involved), and wrongly implies that we are somehow less deserving of life, liberty, and equal protection under the law than our hetero counterparts.

And lets get one thing very clear, the term "homosexual lifestyle" is a worthless statement that is used only as a scare tactic to ignite fear and anger. The reality is that all homosexuals have only two things in common, they are attracted to people of the same gender and they will face familial, societal, and legal discrimination because of it; the similarities stop there.

Just like heteros we all have vastly different beliefs and practices regarding work, family, children, religion, politics, sexual behaviors, morality, education, where we live, who we socialize with, and what we are willing to tolerate from others. We are not all "cut from the same cloth", and if in 2011 you believe that we are than your ignorance is beyond staggering.

Differing opinions regarding homosexual relationships doesn't make anyone evil. It's when you attempt to block our rights, take away our children, forbid us from adopting children, align us with pedophiles and animal rapists, discredit our families, fire us, evict us, tell us we can be cured (as if we had a sickness), tell us that your imaginary friend's book says we should be put to death (even though you ignore everything else Leviticus said), beat us or actually murder us; that's when it becomes evil.

Government Shutdown Looming

“Closing our government would mean our men and women in uniform wouldn’t receive their paychecks and veterans would lose critical benefits. Seniors wouldn’t receive their Social Security checks and essential functions from food safety inspection to airport security could come to a halt.”  - Nancy Pelosi

Pardon my views, but the GOP has now gone on record showing just how RUTHLESS they are. They do NOT care about the American people and whats good for America. They only care about big business and keeping their wealthy friends happy. It's a sad day for us all....

These Republicans spent four days and worked until four in the morning trying to figure out ways to make America poorer and how to take away benefits for children, the poor and the middle class. Not one idea about how to lower unemployment.
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said the bill would put people out of work and claimed the Republicans reaction to that was "so be it."

"Democrats have a different message: 'Show us the jobs,'" she said. "Congressional Republicans have spent the last six weeks ignoring jobs and refusing to offer a plan to grow our economy."
"Today, they have made matters worse — passing a spending bill that destroys jobs, weakens the middle class, hurts schools and young adults, eliminates assistance to homeless veterans, and diminishes critical investments in our future," she said.

Now when 2012 arrives the Republicans will start off with the same old story about how President Obama and the Democratic controlled Senate have kept unemployment high and the economy is still stagnant. So take this story and print it off and put it on the refrigerator so you won't forget what the Republicans are all about. They want the country to go nowhere for the next year and a half and they are counting on the Democrats to stay home from the polls. Remember Wisconsin and Ohio where the working people have been steamrollered and how the oil companies have been allowed their Government welfare. Remember it and vote this stench out of Washington and the United States of America.

Last November, for those of you on the right who love to chant, "We won, we won, read the election results," the American voters did NOT put the deficit or national debt on the leading concerns of the day. Nor did they care a whit at the time about abortion, states' rights, health care reform or other causes the GOP/TP has wasted its time chasing over the past seven weeks.

Recent polls, released this week, re-confirm election day exit polls:
  • 83% of voters named jobs and the economy their number one worry
  • 73% were motivated by deep disaffection with the way Congress performs - and are certainly not being reassured by the incontinent behavior of the House Republican majority now
  • While 22% said they were influenced by a Tea Party issue, 56% said they ignored the Tea Pary, and another 18% were actively opposed to TP issues and actions
So now the Tea Party is driving the GOP bus down avenues that only 22% of the voters endorse. That is a highway to hell for the Republican Party.
