It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Our Idiotic Governor, Rick Perry, Labels Us Flavors of the Month

So yeah, the title says it all.  I really don't have much to say on the subject, because I'm tired of having to defend myself or "My Family", but this man is up there with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.  Nuts.

I was in Boy Scouts from Junior High through High School and if you ask me, it wasn't the "gay scouts" I was afraid of.  It was the straight ones that were horny and needed help.  These people go on chastising gays when it's the STRAIGHT "dads", "uncles", "cousins", "friends" who are molesting boys.  Hell, the Catholic church is full of them too.

Read an excerpt below and tell me you don't want to throw up.
“I know there are those in the world today that would tear that apart. But the fact is this is a private organization. Their values and principles have worked for a century now. And for pop culture to come in and try to tear that up because it just happens to be, you know, the flavor of the month so to speak and to tear apart one of the great organizations that have served millions of young men, helped them to become men and become great fathers. That is just not appropriate. Frankly, I hope the American people will stand up and say, 'Not on my watch.'” - read more here
I guess Ricky forgot there were 2,000 cases of abuse prior to 1994 in the United States alone.  And these were the only ones that were reported.

Thanks for the Memories Rick Perry [video]

If its one thing Ryan and I will miss from the 18 Republican debates, it will be this character, Ricky Perry.  Yep.  From his "oops" moment to his misconstrued history, from his drunken moments to his Alzheimer's, Ricky, you will truly be missed.

Only bad thing is... you're back in Texas, unfortunately.

A Convicted Prisoner Would Be Better Than Gay Parents

Oh, you gotta love our Republican candidates as they continue on their crusade to overturn everything our current President has done.
Ryan and I watched the debates on Saturday and Sunday, and I'd have to say they were the best ones yet.  I know what you're thinking - we're dorks, but who else would keep you informed of the current political news? LOL.

In either case, we watch them because it's like comedy hour.  They literally make us laugh.  Rick Perry was applauded for finally stating the three government programs he would cut, and then went off on why we should go back into Iraq.  We should go in there "literally at the speed of light," he said.  I think he meant to say "figuratively".  Jesus Christ, somebody help him please.

These are the kind of people who applauded the death of a man for not having health insurance, booed a gay man who served several tours of duty in Iraq, and who would rather have a man in prison take care of your children instead of Ryan or myself.

According to the LA Times, citing the work of one anti-poverty expert, Santorum said, "He found that even fathers in jail who had abandoned their kids were still better than no father at all to have in their children's lives."

Allowing gays to marry and raise children, Santorum said, amounts to "robbing children of something they need, they deserve, they have a right to. You may rationalize that that isn't true, but in your own life and in your own heart, you know it's true."

David (my previous partner) and I raised two little girls together and to this day, they have been raised by a wonderful Mother who loves them, and Gay Parents (David and his current partner) who have helped nourish them in their teen years.  I was their soccer coach when they were 4-1/2 through 11 years old, and I'd have to say they have grown into two upstanding young ladies. 17 and 16 now, they're honor students, play in concerts, sports, etc. and continue to excel in everything they set their heart and mind to do.  I love them and always will.  I will forever be their "Papa Pete".

Governor Rick Perry says, "Ooops".

Please help me understand how our state has elected this man for three consecutive terms?  Oh, I know, the corrupt Republican machine, who is now in the process of redistricting, and finding ways to suppress voters.

If you're Latino or a student, good luck.  Republicans are in control of both houses in this state, so they can pretty much pass whatever they want.  Soon Democrats won't be allowed to vote. LOL, j/k.

During last night's presidential debate, Governor Ricky Perry forgot the third government agency he would eliminate as president.  "Commerce, Education, and the.... um...um... what's the third one there? let's see....Commerce, Education, and the um. um...um.."  Really?  And when the moderator asked him if he was serious, he continues mumbling and still can't remember, which in turn leads him to say, "oops".

So now you know why he never wants to debate when he's running for Governor.  He refused to debate Mayor Bill White of Houston during the last election.

Pumpkin Republicans

Oh c'mon, you've got to have a little fun now and then. Just a little political humor since we're done with Halloween.

They Won't Give You Your Buses Back! They're Republicans.

For the past several weeks I have been driving down our through street and noticed several signs saying "Facebook / We Want Our Buses Back".

I didn't know know what this was in reference to, so I asked my partner Ryan and he informed me that the children who live within 2 miles of any Spring, ISD school are no longer being picked up for school.  They took their buses away, and Facebook was the only way they knew how to spread the message across.

When I went online to investigate what was going on, I was dumbfounded by what I saw.  Article after article, news story after news story on this very topic.  Damn, where the hell have I been?  We pay taxes to this school district!
The school district use to bus students who lived past 1/4 mile to the schools. This school year, they decided they were going to the statewide accepted 2-mile distance, which puts most students in the "walking" category, unless they have a "hazardous route" (as defined by the same accepted policy. Problem is, this is a small, but very congested community, and even though the posted speeds are within their "safe" speed, no one drives that posted speed limit. They expect our kids to walk along Cypresswood, Aldine-Westfield, and other dangerous roads--not to mention past tons of sexual predators. Just last year, a teenage girl went missing right after she got off the bus, and hasn't been found yet! Their website (www.springisd.org) has the hazardous route info if you're interested. I think it's under the general information tab, then bus routes. The school district knew that anybody in their right mind that had another choice wasn't going to let their kids walk, which leads to a very horrible traffic congestion, which ticks people off even more. So we have even more dangerous situations with people driving worse because they're ticked at being made to sit through the same red light 2 or 3 times. I've seen people driving down the wrong side of the road and through fields on the road our school is on. Not to mention huge dump trucks and other construction type vehicles. It's just insane that they would think we'd let our kids walk around there. Some people don't have a choice and are forced to fear for their lives and their children's lives every day of school. They say they're doing this because of budget shortfalls. Well, part of that shortfall may be to do with the fact that our Superintendent supposedly decided a couple of years back that he needed to drive a $52000+ Porsch! Go figure!
Let's see... who's in control of the state legislature that passed this horrendous 2-mile law?  Hmmm, who's hurt our teachers, firefighters and policemen in this state?  But most of all, who's hurt our children by cutting financial aid and other services, that we as taxpayers help provide?  I'll give you one guess... Ricky Perry and The Republicans!

But guess what???  Don't blame them, because nothing is their fault.  Isn't that what they always say?

President Obama Telephones The Man Who Wants His Job...

According to the Associated Press, President Obama called up Rick Perry to express his concern for the residents near Houston, Texas who have been amid one of the most destructive fires in Texas history.  The President was on top of it all, and made it clear to Mr. Perry that the federal government would continue to provide assistance at the state and local level.

This is by far one of the most horrible things I have ever witnessed.  It's on every local news channel, day in and day out and yesterday we got news from our University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center President that several employees lived in the areas where the fires took place; Some have even lost their homes.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose everything, especially with Ryan and I both at work, not knowing what's going on at home.  Good thing Ryan works 5 minutes from home, so he could save our puppies quickly.  There's no easy way to say this, but I'm also grateful that the winds took the fire in a northwestern direction because I have family on the northwest side, and it's something I couldn't fathom if something happened to them.  I'm hoping and praying that this fire can be contained soon, because I know many people are being affected.

God Help Us If Texas Governor, Ricky Perry is Elected...

Scientists are a fabric of our society.  We have what we have in our hands (cell phones), because of Scientists.  Almost everything we own in our lives is because Science was involved.

After a reporter gives him a huge breakdown on Global Warming and his position regarding it, our Texas Governor, Rick Perry, and I use "our" lightly, claims that scientists invented global warming to make money.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Governor.  And keep in mind, our state has been in extreme drought for over 6 months!  As I was driving in The Woodlands last week, trees everywhere were dying, trees planted by highways dead, and beautiful landscapes gone!  Yeah, we live in a make-belief land.

Hasn't America learned their lesson by electing another dumbass from Texas?  Seriously, how much more stupid can this country get?  God help us all!
