“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Our Forever Home Goal

If the slideshow below is any indication that we are so ready to move out and buy our forever home, this is it.  Over the weekend someone stole some stepping stones from our yard, and I swear, I was about to lose it.  I can't count the number of times our home has been vandalized over the past 6 years.  I always come close to buying a surveillance camera, but I keep telling myself 2 more years, 2 more years - LOL - the time we will be leaving our subdivision.

Ryan and I have spent the last several weeks looking at homes and figuring out what kind of house we want our forever home to look like, and I believe we found it.  This is the home we want to have built; if not, buy one that looks just like it.

Two and half years may seem like a long time, but it's a goal we will definitely succeed in.  For nearly 7 years, Ryan and I have been working on a set of goals, and we've managed to accomplish each and every one.  There have been setbacks (of course), but we've gotten up and followed through with each of them.

In August of this year we will be completing another goal, with our our next goal focused on that home you see above.  As for the remaining goals in our life, as in marriage and raising a child, those are next in line.  I just wanted to give you, my friends and family, an update on our future hopes and dreams.  Dreams we will accomplish, Lord willing.

Woman or Gay Men Logic?

C'mon, logically this is not fair. It could be women or gay men logic. LOL. My partner Ryan would be the first to tell you that I do the exact same thing to our couches, and it drives him crazy.  Doesn't it, my angel?

Our 2012 Milestones - Happy New Year!

First and foremost, I want to thank God for another wonderful year of my life.  I believe in His awesomeness while others will have you believe otherwise.

Being gay is a gift from God, and I truly believe He wouldn't have allowed my mother to carry me to full term if He was the hateful being some Christians portray him to be.  Thank you God, I love you!

Thank you for allowing me be with the man I most admire in this world, my partner Ryan.  He has been my sole companion for the past 6-1/2 years and I could never have asked for a better person in my life.  The year 2012 is going to be a huge blessing for us.   We will reach two milestones we have never faced in our lifetime.

First and foremost, celebrating our 7 year anniversary - something we both have never done.  My two longest relationships were each 4 years long, and I never would have imagined that the third time around would have been a charm.  And a charm he was.  I love you Ryan!  Just goes to show that meeting someone online and falling in love is possible.

The second milestone in our lives will be in late June or early July when Ryan and I will officially be out of credit card debt.  Now, this may not seem like a big deal for most of you, but for us it is.  Since we've been together we have amassed over $60,000 in credit card debt.  Don't get us wrong, we don't regret spending any of it, there was good in all of this.  We wouldn't have what we have today, if we didn't have the use of a credit card at our disposal.  The majority of that money was invested in the remodeling of our home and the purchases we made throughout the years to make our home beautiful inside and out.  In either case, to say we will not shed tears come June or July is an understatement.  This is a big deal for us.  We will shed tears, because for the first time in our lives every bit of cash we garner from work will go towards building our future home, our eventual marriage and fulfilling our dream of spending the rest of our lives together.

I would also like to take this time to wish a Happy New Year to our loving families, both of who support mine and Ryan's relationship, our dear friends (you know who you are), the readers of my blog, my co-workers, and to all the people on Facebook who have taken the time to say hi, wished me happy birthday, and became friends with me even if they had no clue who I was. :-)

May God Bless all of you in 2012!  Happy New Year!

Our Secret Garden - Summer - July 2011

Ryan and I moved into our home in the summer of 2006, and the yard was one of the things that was in need of major repair.

I have worked on it daily over the span of 5 years,  fertilizing, tilling, re-seeding, and planting to get our yard looking beautiful.

The backyard we call "Our Secret Garden" is a paradise I created for Ryan, the love of my life.

As you watch the slideshow, you will notice a Koi Pond, (something Ryan has always wanted), a pool that I made for myself (because I always need to cool down when I'm working outside during the hot summer months), a small house, (where I do all my crafts and projects; yes, it  has an AC and a heater), a small vegetable garden, a memorial for our pets who have passed away, and finally a hammock to relax after a long hard day.

"I often think it's so surreal, and when I look back at all that I've accomplished in such a short period of time, it only strengthens my belief that I could never do this for anyone other than my man - He is the breath of me.

- Peter aka Blade

I chose "Ocean Size Love" by Leigh Nash, because it was a song I remember listening to when Ryan and I moved into our home. The ocean being the largest body of water, and so vast, this is how our love is - Ocean Size!

Freezing Temperatures = Horrible Conditions, but Happy Koi

People.  If you can stay home, do it.  It's ridiculous crazy outside.  There were over 100 car accidents around 3 - 4 AM this morning.  Most, if not all, toll roads and major freeways are closed.  Schools, universities and countless businesses will remain closed until further notice. Stay tuned to your local news and weather channels to monitor the current situation.

Luckily for me, I'm off on Fridays, so I have no reason to be out and about.  As for my love, Ryan, he works close by, but they will call him later to find out if it's even possible to open with a small crew.

I have posted some pictures of our Koi swimming happily in their pond, they love freezing temperatures. There's ice over our Mexican Palm, which is not happy whatsoever, and our Oleanders are frozen to the point they are leaning over.  I took a picture of our Willow Tree, but you can't see the ice covering it, looks invisible; imagine how the roads look like.  And finally, our Bamboo, unless a miracle were to happen, is surely dead after this winter storm; it is covered in ice.

I have organized my blogs with 3 days worth of postings, so if you wish to continue reading the days before that, and so forth and so forth, you can click the "Older Posts" button /\ /\ /\ right /\ up there.

There are 3 other ways you can find interesting topics to read as well.
