“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

A Very Special Moment - Issue #9: Dance With My Father Again

For those who watch Ellen, you probably already know she's sent her staff to the Philippines to find young a boy by the name of Alrich Talonding.  She recently invited him to sing on her show.

The young boy has become a YouTube sensation after a video appeared of him singing Luther Vandross's, "Dance With My Father Again".  And if you've never heard of the song, it's one of the most emotional and heart-wrenching songs you'll ever hear.  It's about a child who misses his father who passed away, and who's mother's pain embraces him. Lyrics are at the bottom.

"Dance With My Father Again"

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He’d make me laugh just to comfort me
Then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
‘Cause I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
Sometimes I’d listen outside her door
And I’d hear how my mother cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I pray for her even more than me
I know I’m praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don’t do it usually
But dear Lord she’s dying
To dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

Paint & Body Repair Man Has The Most Amazing Heart & Soul

What an amazing story - I shed a few tears watching this video.
And it isn't just about the video being so special - which it is, but because I can't fathom why most of today's Christians, Conservatives and Republicans can't be more like this Paint & Body Repair man.  To top it off, he did an act of kindness for someone he didn't even know.

I love Ellen, and I love this young man.

Quoted - Ellen DeGeneres on God and Christianity

Prologue by Blade 7184...I wasn't able to blog about the whole Ellen/JC Penny/100 Million Mom Fiasco, but I can quote her in my "Quoted" series.,

I was raised very, very strictly with Christianity. I didn't have a shot or an aspirin or anything until I was 13 years old. We had to go to church, do testimonies every Wednesday night. I think all religion is based on what happens after this life. You live a certain way so that when you die, things can be good. But why can't things be good now? Why can't you understand that you're in heaven now? That's how I live. I believe in God. I think that God is everywhere. Every morning I look outside, and I say, "Hi, God." Because I think that the trees are God. I think that our whole experience is God.     - Ellen DeGeneres

Let's Hear It For The Lady

Woo hoo!  You go Michelle Obama!!!  Ellen challenged her to a Push-up competition on her show and it was a race to the finish, with Ellen, going out first.  God Bless her and our First Lady, I simply adore them both!

Of course, Ellen with her wonderful sense of humor makes the video even more enjoyable.

Post Secret Fridays - Issue 066

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard.

God isn't the one who is lost; we all are. God is where He always is... we need to stop trying to "find God" and instead rid ourselves of the things that we use to hide from God.

-----Email-----
I was so deeply offended that someone would assume that it is one's fault that they feel void of God's presence. It is the worst thing to be told when you are so desperately trying to feel something that once seemed to be ever present, and then one morning is just gone.

Paula Abdul Returns To Television - In A Big Way

You know, as much flak as I gave Paula Abdul when she was on American Idol, I kinda missed her.  I don't think Idol was ever the same once she left.  With the addition of Kara DioGuardi, and Ellen the following year - it was just too much.

I'm happy to say, that Paula is back! Yes, you are reading this correctly.  She was hand-picked by Simon Cowell as the fourth judge on his new show, The X-Factor.

I first heard about this 2 months ago, but put off talking about it until I knew it was official, and it became official on Mother's Day! She will be joining Cheryl Cole and Antonio "L.A." Reid on the Judge's table this fall.

What is the X-Factor?  Well, luckily for you back in February I wrote a post titled, "What Is The X-Factor?" - There is also a trailer by Simon Cowell himself.
America’s sweetheart, world-renowned choreographer and pop icon Paula Abdul will join Cheryl Cole, Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Simon Cowell as a judge on THE X FACTOR, the highly anticipated singing competition series debuting this fall on FOX. Abdul, who sat alongside Cowell for eight seasons as a judge on AMERICAN IDOL, has worldwide album sales exceeding 50 million records, two No. 1 albums, six No. 1 singles, a Grammy Award, seven MTV Awards, two Emmy Awards, two People’s Choice Awards and two Kids’ Choice Awards. Abdul will join Cole, Cowell, and Reid as they travel to THE X FACTOR audition cities searching for the next global superstar or breakout music group. “This show would never have been the same without Paula and I can’t believe I am saying this – I have missed her a lot, and I am thrilled she’s on the show,” said Simon Cowell. “I am excited beyond words to be a part of THE X FACTOR. I couldn’t be happier to bring my love for cultivating talent and performance to such a wildly anticipated show,” said Paula Abdul. “I’m looking forward to being back with the FOX/FremantleMedia family and know that it will be an extraordinary journey — we’re going to have a blast. I’m also delighted and grateful to be sitting next to Simon again…but you might want to check back with me in a week or two!” “Paula is not only the lovely, nurturing person that America fell in love with, but she’s also one of the fiercest competitors I’ve ever seen — which makes her a perfect fit to judge THE X FACTOR,” said Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “Paula and Simon have undeniable chemistry, and together with L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole, I think we’ve put together an incredibly entertaining judges’ panel.” “I’m thrilled to be working with Paula again,” says executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz. “A consummate entertainer in her own right, she has an extraordinary talent and generosity for nurturing performers — and her chemistry with Simon Cowell is like no other. I especially look forward to seeing her signature sensibilities in action during our mentoring rounds!” Auditions continue in Dallas, TX, on Thursday, May 26. THE X FACTOR is searching for undiscovered talent 12 years old or over – both solo artists and vocal groups – who are willing to brave the panel for a chance to win a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music. Interested solo artists and vocal groups should sign up now for audition information at fox.com/theXfactor or call toll-free 855-345-5678. In a departure from other singing competition series, the first time contestants audition for THE X FACTOR judges, they will do so in front of an audience of thousands – raising the stakes and increasing the pressure to impress not only the judges, but also a potential legion of fans. This will be the ultimate test to prove they have the vocal ability, charisma and stage presence that it takes to win an unprecedented $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.
Welcome back Paula! I can't wait to see you with Simon once again.  Just lay off the drugs and alcohol this time, lmao, just say'n.

Katy Perry's "Firework" as You've Never Seen or Heard It Before!

You may remember him from 2010 when he was a guest on the shows, Today and Ellen, or you may have heard of him when his videos went viral in the Fall.  He made covers of Katy Perry's, "Teenage Dream" and Bruno Mars, "Just They Way You Are."

Well, the very hot Mike Tompkins is back and the cutie dishes out a cover of Katy Perry's "Firework" as you've never seen or heard it before. I truly enjoyed watched this video, he's truly an amazing artist.  When someone can create music with their voice alone, they are truly a musical genius.

Check out the video below:
