A Car and It's Drone
It's only a concept, so don't get too excited. But it's cool nonetheless. The concept car from Renault features a driver-controlled drone in the trunk of the car! Yep, it simply comes out the rear of the car, and investigates upcoming traffic for you. Great for burglars too! lol. As I said, don't get too excited over it; These rarely get to the dealership floor. Check it out.

2015 Ford Evos Mustang???
![]() |
RAIN |
According to this article, The new Ford Mustang Evos will be coming to a city near you by 2015. The Evos is powered by a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain which consists of a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine, electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack. [source]. So yeah Ford's taking Hybrid to a whole new level, and I'd have to say I'm quite impressed. But I'm sure this care will cost a pretty penny, so unless you're carrying around a huge load of cash, financing will not be so great. Maybe you can finance for 10 years or something. LOL.
Check out the pics, they are pretty cool.

Houston Thieves!!!
I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but if you live in Houston, Texas (the fourth largest city in the nation), the Houston Police Department releases a monthly report on vehicles stolen for a particular month. Last week they released April's monthly report and here are the "Top 10" makes of vehicles stolen during the month. Report courtesy of ABC13.com.
And this is why my new car is parked in the garage, especially since Toyota cars happens to be #5 on the list.

2. Chevrolet Trucks 126
3. Honda Cars 109
4. Dodge Trucks 64

What a Hot Mess: How To Fix Your Car
Talk about a hot mess. This only goes to show that being a mechanic isn't for anyone, only the few and the proud. LOL.
Seriously though... if you ever want to remove an engine from a car (which my father and I have done plenty of times), you simply tie some chains to the engine block, tie them to a tree, put your car in reverse, and floor the gas pedal. Trust me, it will be a success, just ask the guys in the video...

Stick vs. Automatic
Courtesy of Hunch and Column Five Media, I bring you this great infographic which uncovers the characteristics of people who can drive stick shifts and those who cant. Pretty interesting when you find that 69% of people who drive a stick are more likely to have a graduate degree and 39% more likely to be married or in a long-term relationship.
And try this one; If you cannot drive a stick-shift, you're part of the 32% of people who are pessimistic, 12% more likely to be an introvert, 11% more likely to be a night owl, 12% more likely to best express yourself through writing, and 15% likely to consider yourself close to nature. Hmm, I'm not mentioning any names, but I know someone just like this, and he can't drive a stick.

My Chevron Breast Cancer Car Collection
As most of you already know, I work for the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the Breast Medical Oncology department. I currently work with four Research Nurses (9 nurses since my employment), who have helped guide me in my career. I've been working in cancer research for 9 years, with 6 solely focused on the terrible disease we all know as Breast Cancer.

Several years ago my Aunt, Lupe Flores, passed away to this terrible disease; a devastating loss to a beautiful family to say the least. They miss her everyday, but together we have managed to look to the future in making sure we support the cause.
Over the years I have seen people die to this terrible disease, leaving me heartbroken beyond repair, and I can't imagine what it's like for the families who go through the turmoils they face everyday. But I've seen countless others survive this disease and this is why I dedicate this post to them.

As of 2007, I have been collecting the Special Edition Chevron Breast Cancer cars. In 2001, Chevron launched a toy car named Hope to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness. Since the launch, the popularity of this car has been astronomical. These cars usually sell out in three months! Luckily for me, I had a nurse who bought me my first one in 2007 and 2008. And ever since then I have been buying the rest. I currently have every issue, minus the very first one. I have them set up in my office and will take a picture of them when I remember to. But for now, here are the cars over the years.
Do your part in help promoting Breast Cancer Awareness by buying a car, walking for the Susan G. Komen foundation, or buying products from companies who donate part or all of their proceeds to research.

With 100 percent of the net proceeds contributed to promote the early detection of breast cancer, I have helped contribute more than $1.8 million by sharing Hope, Faith, Cherish, Promise,
