It's the meaning of being popular or cool which unfortunately means that if you're different then you must be bad, weird or just not one of us at all. We all want to be a part of something, to be loved, to belong, but at the same time that can't ultimately lead to not liking someone that is different from us. The ugly result is only that of bullying, racism, homophobia, sexism, and even genocide and war. If we appreciated and accepted or at least attempted to learn and understand our many differences more than we do for our common similarities then this world of ours would ultimately be a much better place.
