Movies to Watch: Margin Call
|
"SOMETHING BIG IS GOING DOWN!" |
Wanna know what really happened on Wall Street over the 24-hour period during the early stages of the financial crisis? Watch this trailer to Margin Call, and you'll be surprised. Based on true stories and true events, the movie boasts actors such as Jeremy Irons, Zachary Quinto, Kevin Spacey, Penn Badgley, Stanley Tucci, Demi Moore. Seriously, the list goes on and on with fabulous actors.
Earlier in the year, Ryan and I watched the HBO movie, Too Big To Fail, and it was exceptionally great. It "tells the minute-by-minute, seat-of-the-pants story of how Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson (William Hurt) tries to wrangle the arrogant CEOs of the giant financial institutions into compromise in order to prevent worldwide depression." I can't say it any better than Linda Stasi here:
They cheat. They steal. They lie. They leave hardworking families homeless. They undermined the entire economy of the United States for their own personal greed. They don't go to jail and still get billions in bonuses. Who are they? They are the Wall Street SOBs who brought the US to its knees, that's who. Too bad to be true? No -- too bad to be fake.
I think Margin Call will be equally as good, really looking forward to it. Check out the trailer here:

I want to see it. It looks really great, but I've said it once and I'll say it again: The will of the people made this country while facing off again the tyranny of a rich and greedy king. If we don't change the way we are as a country, and give more rights to the people than the kings of today, corporate C.E.O.s, then their greed will ultimately destroy us all and there will be no more middle class.
