It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 17 - Baby Mudplay

It's Elephant play time again!  Earlier this year, you may remember  it was playtime in the kiddie pool at the Houston Zoo.  This time around a baby elephant is having too much fun playing in the mud.  Too cute!

Little Creatures at The Houston Zoo Love Their Kiddie Pool


As temperatures rise in our area, not only will it affect us, but our little creature friends as well.  Over the past few days, Baylor and Tupelo have been cooling off in their kiddie pool; But Baylor at 1000 pounds and Tupelo at 600, it doesn't seem like its going to last very long.  According to the Houston Zoo website, the small inflatable kiddie pools do not last longer than 5 minutes without getting popped.  The two calves are now up to a family size one which will last them through 5 uses.  I guess water bombing is not a good idea, but these babies love 'em.
