“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Only 22% of Americans Want To Be Known As Republicans

It's a pretty sad reality, but the Reds are in a downward slope and it seems the only way they can win any elections is by redistricting, and even then, public support is waning.  Trust me, and you can look back on this blog four years from now and tell me I was wrong - I won't take offense.

The Republican party will never win a national election without the people they hate most - Latinos and Gays.  Period.  And aside from that, Asians were the fastest growing racial group in 2012, bet you didn't know that either.  So we can only imagine how much more diverse this country is going to be in 10 years. Hell, 4 years - who am I kidding?
According to USA today, "President Obama starts his second term with a clear upper hand over GOP leaders on issues from guns to immigration that are likely to dominate the year, a USA TODAY/Pew Research Center Poll finds. On the legislation rated most urgent — cutting the budget deficit — even a majority of Republican voters endorse Obama's approach of seeking tax hikes as well as spending cuts."

And here's the real kicker... Only 22% of Americans want to be known as Republicans.  Pretty sad huh?  You can read the article here.

I have friends who are Republicans, but they are more fiscally conservative individuals, and I understand that.  I respect them.  But for those who tell us how we should live, who we can love and who we can marry.  That is none of their f--ing business.

I will be shocked if I ever see a Republican president for the remainder of my life.  They would need to drastically change for that to happen.  And throwing Marco Rubio and Susana Martinez in our faces is not going to make it happen.

Who Would You Rather Have? Someone Who Compromises To Get Things Done or Someone Who Sticks To Their Principles?

Was there ever really any question?  Look at the chart below, it's plain and simple folks!  No, I mean really look at it!

Republicans have their heads so far up their asses, that our nation will ultimately fall.  If they don't start compromising on the issues we value most, you can mark my words, we will be a 3rd world country in a matter of time. We may not be around to witness it, but our children and grandchildren will.

To see the rise of the greatest nation on earth, and see it fall in the span of only 500 years, is not something I'd like to witness.  But if America keeps electing these idiots, then you'll see it, I can almost guarantee it.

If our future is in the hands of the "Calen" generation, then we (gay or straight) may have a chance.

Ron Paul Kicking Obama Out of The White House

Ron Paul kicking Obama out of the White House has much of a chance of happening, as Rick Perry having Texas secede from the Union.  I know it's laughable, but for the 2nd year in a row Ron Paul has managed to come away the winner at the Conservative Political Action Committee conference (CPAC) held in Washington, DC.

Ron came out of the conference with 30 percent of the straw vote, with Mitt Romney coming in second with 23 percent.  All the other nuts, like Ricky Perry, Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Chris Christie, Michele Bachmann, Mitch Daniels, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum and Tim Pawlenty came out with less than 7 percent of the vote.

Commentator Franz said it best when he stated, "Ron Paul is for freedoms as long as it doesn't infringe upon his right to discriminate. Like most Libertarians.  What they mean by live and let live, and less government is Fuck everyone else as long as government doesn't touch my money and my rights. Fuck Ron Paul, his whole platform is undermined by his permissiveness in reserving full protection of the law and equal economic distribution only for straight Christians."
