“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Quoted - Kellan Lutz on Gay Rumors and His Love For Gay Men

I don’t Google myself, but I’ve heard that people think I’m gay…. I don’t really go after girls. Most of the girlfriends I’ve had have come after me. So it’s really funny when girls get offended because I don’t hit on them. [They] transform their insecurity into, ‘Oh, that makes sense, because I heard you’re into guys and have a boyfriend.’ I’m like, ‘Seriously? That’s your tactic to get me to like you?’ There will always be rumors, but I know who I am…. Gay men are the best. I love them. When I meet gay fans out and about, they’re so great to talk to – and I’m big on hugging, because I’m from the Midwest. They’re just so energetic and loving. I’m proud to have those fans, and their support means a lot to me. I don’t want just girls coming to my movies, I want guys to come too.- Kellan Lutz in a recent Advocate interview

7 Year Old Boy Donates $140 To Gay Charities

"To teach the importance of improving the world around him, Malcolm was given $140 to give away to the charity of his choice. After hearing a story on the radio about the mistreatment of gays and lesbians, Malcolm became both upset and curious about the issue…to help, he chose to split his money between the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation."                                                        - Malcolm's Mom
The center is calling him their "Littlest Champion," and rightly so.  The young boy sent $140 to the charities of his choice, simply because he doesn't think it's fair that Gay people should be treated unequally.  It truly brings hope that someday there will be an end to all the bigotry, hatred and discrimination we face in the world today.  And even if you question whether he did this on his own or by his parents' sentiment, at least he's learning about Gay people at an early age.  Thank you, Malcolm - this has made my morning.

Doritos Gay Superbowl Ads Will Not Air

Remember those 2 Doritos ads I posted earlier this week?

Frito-Lay has decided to distance themselves from them and say they are finding a way to have them removed from YouTube as soon as possible.

The ads were actually a part of a "Crash the Superbowl" contest, where thousands of entrepeneurs submitted videos and were judged by a panel of judges.  Frito-Lay Director of Public Relations Chris Kuechenmeister said that the contest’s judges sought to “identify spots that were appropriate for everyone” and “observe a level of respect for everybody.” Can I throw up now? The only ones who would hate these ads would be the small percentage of conservatives who think that anything gay is wrong.  You can see the commercials here and here.  Read more about all this drama at The Advocate.
