Must Watch: C.A.N.N.I.B.A.L. PSA
Over the last few weeks, Cannibalism has taken over our news, our Facebook, our blogs, our Twitters, hell, it's taken over our lives. Due to the recent rash of brain eating humans from Canada, and the homeless eating beast in Florida; Andy Samberg from SNL appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night and released a Public Service Announcement just for you. It is titled C.A.N.N.I.B.A.L (Citizens Are Not Naturally Ingested By Americans League), and it's really serious.

Stop Texting While Walking!
While not as graphic as the texting while driving video I posted last year, it gets the message across.
Stop texting while walking!!! If you're going to text and walk, sit your ass down on a bench, or stand up against a wall. Geez, when are you folks going to listen.
Honestly, I never thought of it as a big deal, but now that I saw this PSA I can see how it can be rude. Hence, the reason you shouldn't text while someone is talking to you. Always give them your undivided attention. Furthermore, what's going to happen when you get run over?

Red Ribbon Runway Auction
The National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) and the dancing queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race will be auctioning off the red ribbon-inspired gowns they wore in a public service announcement back in July. It started on December 1st, but Logo TV, along with eBay, will be auctioning off these dresses until December 11. The PSA featured Carmen Carerra, Alexis Mateo, Delta Work, Shangela Laquifa Wadley and Manila Luzon. Unfortunately I couldn't find Delta's gown, but I'm sure it was just as fabulous!
You can catch the PSA after the jump.

An 8th Grader's Public Service Announcement
We have truly come a long way. This would never have happened when I was in Junior High. Are you kidding me? My ass would have been beaten black and blue.
Eighth-grader Playahata646 and his little brother filmed this Public Service Announcement “Don’t Say Gay” for a school assignment. This also would have been excellent post for my series, "The Joys of Being a Parent". Kudos to you kid!
He says this on his YouTube page:

In 8th grade we had a PSA project. ( Public Service Announcement) Don't Say Gay. I chose a funny way to present it. Subscribe! And thanks to my little brother for being the star!

Must Watch: TSA - PSA
The holidays are upon us, and well... It's a fact, more people are screened and patted down at airports during the holidays than any other time during the year. And The Transportation Security Administration wants to make sure you're completely satisfied. They even go as far as to say, "It's our business to touch yours". LMAO! this was hilarious, check it out.

What a Hot Mess: She Texted. We Kicked Her Out.
The next time you think you're right, think again. Otherwise you may end up as a Public Service Announcement everyone will know about the next day, or better yet, the next 100 years. LMAO
Nothing annoys me more than phone users who constantly text or talk during a movie, this is why Ryan and I "REFUSE" to go see a movie in the evening or night. All you hear is the clicking sound (if it's a phone with buttons), or the damn LED light from a cell phone when it's in our peripheral vision.
The Alamo Drafthouse, an eat and drink theater in Austin, which is a lovely city in my home state of Texas, wasn't going to put up with any of this bullshit. So after repeated warnings to stop texting, she was kicked out of the theater. What a Hot Mess! But it doesn't end there, she proceeded to call the theater, leaving a voicemail that would put Debra Morgan (DEXTER) to shame.
I'm not sure if she learned her lesson, but the theater took it upon themselves to make a PSA about it, and air it before each of their R-rated movies. You can tell how pissed management was about it, on the restaurant/theater's blog. The titled to their post, says it all, "She Texted. We Kicked Her Out."

I'll be honest, it's annoying, but in certain cases, it doesn't bother me. I mean if it's a quick reply to say you'll text after the movie, then I'm cool with it. Or if it's an emergency, I'm sure you would walk out of the establishment anyway. But if it's their rules, it's their rules, you're entering their place of business. You wouldn't disrespect your parents' home, would you? Or you wouldn't want anyone disrespecting yours, right?

So Long As I Live
Yesterday, as you may recall, I made a promise to myself that I would never text while driving again.
As I got into my car, and drove out of the parking garage at work, I received a Facebook message alert on my phone. I immediately picked it up, and by force of habit started to reply, while at the same time looking down, looking up, "making sure" I didn't pass a stop sign, and run over a pedestrian. At that time, a lightbulb clicked in my head, and I remembered, NO MORE TEXTING. "But it's Facebook, I'm not texting anyone," I told myself, as I continued towards a stoplight.
Without hesitation, I immediately, and purposefully threw my phone the furthest away from me that I could - onto the other side of my passenger side seat (where I knew I couldn't reach it). I assured myself, that I wasn't going to risk my life or the lives of others any longer. I made a promise to myself, and to the world yesterday, And I was not going to break this promise.
In a few months, my sister Victoria, will be giving birth to her firstborn child - Ryan and I will become uncles for the first time, and there is no way in hell I'm going to risk losing each other's lives, because I played with a piece of technology. I think I can last 30 minutes to an hour without a phone, it will not kill me, but driving with it will.
At 6:30 PM today will be one whole day since I've stuck with my promise, and I will continue to do so, so long as I live.
If there is one video you should watch, this one's it - it's chilling, it will make you cry, and it will affect you in more ways than one. Please watch it.

Kill Your Friends, Kill Your Family, But Don't Kill Mine
Okay, I'll be honest. I haven't been a strong supporter of this, because I'm always fumbling with my phone while driving. I'll say it again, I text while driving, And so do many millions of other people around the world, primarily teens. After watching this video, I'm seriously re-evaluating how I use my phone while driving, and this includes multi-tasking.
In this UK public service announcement, a girl is texting her friend James, while her other friends are in the car with her. Within seconds, she's not only managed to kill her friends, but she's managed to kill several other people on the highway, including the parents of a baby and a child.
If you don't want to see the video, because you feel what I'm saying is rubbish, then your life, your family's, and your friends' lives are in your hands. After watching this video this morning, I can promise you now, I will never be texting while driving again. And if I'm driving with others, I will let another passenger text for me while I drive. Three weeks ago, a co-worker's son lost his God-daughter to texting and driving. It was really hard watching my co-worker grieve during this period. I can't imagine losing someone at the young age of 17, it is beyond anything I could ever comprehend.

Gay Ads That Matter - Issue No. 004 - Stand Up PSA from Ireland
It's been exactly two months since I posted any "Gay Ads That Matter," the last one was on February 8. It's not very often I come across an advertisement that will bring me to tears, but this one does it. Maybe it only brings gay people to tears, I don't know. All I know is... it is one of the most powerful messages I have ever seen.
It was "Stand Up! LGBT Awareness Week" in Ireland last week, and in preparation for this event, Stand Up! released the following public service announcement. Their purpose? To "provide an annual focus for promoting positive awareness of LGBT young people, tackling homophobia and homophobic bullying, and building allies among young people and youth workers."

We Have The Coolest First Lady On Earth!
"It's important for kids to get the hour of active play they need every day, and there are so many fun things that each of us can do to be healthier," said First Lady Michelle Obama. "Thanks to programs like the USTA's 10 and Under Tennis initiative, it's easier than ever for kids to get active and have fun. And that's a big part of what we're doing with Let's Move!, America's campaign to raise a healthier generation of kids."
Watch as the First Lady spends some time on the court with tennis legends Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf, along with a couple of youth stars in the making.

An Entertaining Dont Drink & Drive Video
Want to make a short movie? Why not turn your "Don't Drink & Drive" video into a 3 minute short film? That's exactly what the Danish did.
Made in Denmark, the video is rather graphic and not what you would expect from a PSA. It does make for great entertainment though. Check it out for yourself.

A 30-Second PSA Sure To Have You Talking
"We Won't Go Back," the 30-second Public Service Announcement released just a few days ago has people in awe, and rightfully so. The Republican Party is doing whatever it can to overturn Roe vs. Wade and take things back to how they used to be, when women had no voice and women had no choice.
You may have recognized the the lovely actress in the video and couldn't put your name on it; she's Lisa Edelstein. She's been in a few movies; 'As Good As it Gets,' 'What Women Want,' & 'Daddy Day Care,' and many television shows, 'House MD,' 'Felicity', 'The Practice,' & 'The West Wing'.
Check out the video "We Won't Go Back," down below.
