Man, isn't this the truth? Sad thing is... I remember having all these gadgets. Actually, it's not a sad thing; I'm proud to be a part of that moment. It's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. But it is quite funny and cool to see it in this perspective... What a difference 20 years makes.

Yummy Sony Xperia Soup
So how do you prove to your friends that your "Sony Xperia Z" is better than any iPhone they will ever own? Oh, I don't know, invite them over for dinner and serve them soup with an Xperia in it? LOL.
Seriously, check out this video of a Sony Xperia Z being thrown into a pot of hot steaming soup, and still function after a small wipe down. Skip to about 1:25 in the video.

Isn't This The Truth? Life Before and After Cell Phones
So the brilliant minds that at _twentypixels have given us a breakdown of life, "before and after" cell phones came to existence. And I'd have to say they got it down right. LOL.
So let's just say you're going to meet a friend at 7 PM, called someone and they didn't pick up, or you were stranded and needed a ride. How was it like before the smartphone you have in your hand right now came to be?

Laugh of the Day: Invisible Cell Phone
Oh Jack Vale. He's at it again, and this time he's at Wal-Mart. You may remember him getting punched in the face by a Target customer a while back. And almost getting jumped by several women at another Target store. This time he's pretending to be on the phone with his wife trying to convince her he's at Wal-Mart.
I really didn't start laughing until the end, but it should bring a little humor to your day.

The New iPhone 5???
If you were to go online today you would find countless and countless of iPhone 5 prototypes. From the boring to the not-so-boring.
Supposedly the iPhone 5 will be released later this year, and according to my love, Ryan, this will be the perfect time to get one. We still have the original iPhone 3G, not the "3GS". Sure it takes an hour for the maps to work and an hour for the photos to load, but it still works! If we can still call each other every hour, it's perfect! And since we got the phones 3 years ago, Ryan's phone has only been synched once. LOL.
In either case, are you excited about the iPhone 5, or are you happy with the one you have so long as it's still working? Here are a few prototypes I found online. I especially liked the one on top.

Stop Texting While Walking!
While not as graphic as the texting while driving video I posted last year, it gets the message across.
Stop texting while walking!!! If you're going to text and walk, sit your ass down on a bench, or stand up against a wall. Geez, when are you folks going to listen.
Honestly, I never thought of it as a big deal, but now that I saw this PSA I can see how it can be rude. Hence, the reason you shouldn't text while someone is talking to you. Always give them your undivided attention. Furthermore, what's going to happen when you get run over?

Violinist vs. Nokia [video]
I don't know about you, but nothing is more annoying than when you're in a meeting and someone's cell phone goes off. I know, because mine has gone off a couple of times, and it annoys the crap out of people. Same thing goes for movie theaters, except you can't tape people's mouths shut. LOL. I meant they're cell phones go off in movie theaters as well.
But most importantly, when you're a violinist and performing in front of several hundred people, or maybe a couple of judges, what do you do when a cell phone starts ringing? Oh, I know! Mimic the cell phone ring tone during your performance!

Things That Make You Go Hmmm... The Brick
Wow, we sure have come a long way. I remember getting excited when I got my first cell phone with a retractable antenna! That was the shit!
The Motorola Dyan TAC 8000X was the first "modern" cell phone to have fools lined up around the block of your local Best Buy or electronics store. Released in 1984, it was known as "The Brick." It weighed 2 pounds, only got a half hour of talk out of a recharge and cost nearly $4,000.
Interesting. Things that make you go hmmm...

New Facebook Phone Revealed!
Facebook is coming out with a phone of their very own. No, I'm not shitting you. It's true! Doesn't mean, Joy of Tech, can't have a little fun with it.
Take a look at the chart below and check out all the fascinating features. No numberpad!!! The phone only makes calls to Facebook friends (since why would you want to call anyone who is not on Facebook), right?

Yes, I Still Have The Original iPhone...
Despite the fact that it's been dropped hundreds of times, run over once, and in a swimming pool for 15 to 20 minutes - the damn thing still lives on. Sorry guys, but I'm waiting for the iPhone 6 or 7 - so hush. Why do I want to buy something that ain't going to understand "ain't" or "work"? Like this poor Japanese guy who can't get that dumb bitch, Siri to understand him.

Addicted To Your Smartphone?
Well, you're not the only one. Check out what people would give up before giving up their phones. Damn, talk about being really close to an inanimate object - 33% of people would give up sex rather than lose their phone.

Splitscreen: A Love Story
Unbelievably beautiful is all I can say about this video. Actually, I can say many other great things, but at the moment I am drawn to the complexity of the art that fell upon me, that I can't think of what else to say.
This short film was shot entirely on a Nokia mobile phone. It was so creative, writer and director, JW Griffiths became the winner at this year's Nokia Shorts Competition.

GRNDR Has You Beat
If you thought your city had the most GRNDR users, think again. You know who I'm talking about. I'm talking to all you horny boys out there who can't get enough man-meat out of their day, so they go to their cell phones to tap on their GRNDR application.
You heard me. Better yet, you read that.
Back in the "olden" days (90's), we used to go out clubbing, go to a library to read a book, or simply just hang out with our friends at a park. Within a matter of time you'd run into this really cute boy, and tried to find a way to go up to him. You'd talk, chat on AIM or Yahoo Instant Messenger, or maybe, just maybe, write him a letter. Then you'd hook up with them.
Today, that is too much trouble, we don't have time for all that. So what is gay boy to do? Use their hook-up app to find a guy, and sometimes find them only a few feet away. And being the horny dogs that gay boys are, they hook-up once, twice, or three times a day. With the same person of course. *coughs* Some of the guys are ridiculously hot though.
In either case, GRNDR has reached a milestone this week, it now has 2 million users in over 192 countries. Wait, do we have that many countries? With the addition of the iPad, Android, and Blackberry, GRNDR has now become the top hook-up app in the world.
And you're not alone, because these cities down below are the top 10 cities in the world when it comes to GRNDR usage. Sorry Houston, you didn't make the list. I'm sure being the good, Christian boys you all are, you refuse to take part in such blasphemous activity. *coughs again*

What a Hot Mess: She Texted. We Kicked Her Out.
The next time you think you're right, think again. Otherwise you may end up as a Public Service Announcement everyone will know about the next day, or better yet, the next 100 years. LMAO
Nothing annoys me more than phone users who constantly text or talk during a movie, this is why Ryan and I "REFUSE" to go see a movie in the evening or night. All you hear is the clicking sound (if it's a phone with buttons), or the damn LED light from a cell phone when it's in our peripheral vision.
The Alamo Drafthouse, an eat and drink theater in Austin, which is a lovely city in my home state of Texas, wasn't going to put up with any of this bullshit. So after repeated warnings to stop texting, she was kicked out of the theater. What a Hot Mess! But it doesn't end there, she proceeded to call the theater, leaving a voicemail that would put Debra Morgan (DEXTER) to shame.
I'm not sure if she learned her lesson, but the theater took it upon themselves to make a PSA about it, and air it before each of their R-rated movies. You can tell how pissed management was about it, on the restaurant/theater's blog. The titled to their post, says it all, "She Texted. We Kicked Her Out."

I'll be honest, it's annoying, but in certain cases, it doesn't bother me. I mean if it's a quick reply to say you'll text after the movie, then I'm cool with it. Or if it's an emergency, I'm sure you would walk out of the establishment anyway. But if it's their rules, it's their rules, you're entering their place of business. You wouldn't disrespect your parents' home, would you? Or you wouldn't want anyone disrespecting yours, right?
