“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Sunday Funday: RuPaulogize

It's time for some Sunday Funday realness!!!  I'll be posting two music videos that are absolutely hilarious and are sure to be a hit.  Be warned, both videos are NSFW and each will be posted separately.

The first video features our favorite drag queen superstars, Willam Belli and Sharon Needles.  Will this bring down Belli's previous video, "This Boy is a Bottom"?  I think it may very well do that - I can't stop playing it.

You may remember Willam coining the term "RuPaulogize" in season 4 of Drag Race, so you knew a song was coming.  The video, which features Sharon Needles as RuPaul, parodies One Republic's, "Apologize".  You have to check it out - you'll be ROFLD (rolling on the floor dancing).

The Men of RuPaul's Drag Race

For those that watch RuPaul's Drag Race like there's no tomorrow - This post is for you.

You see, just because you do drag doesn't mean you're not young, good-looking and beautiful as a man.

Check out the fabulous gays that "make-up" Lineysha Sparx, Alisa Summers, Ivy Winters, Morgan McMichaels, Jade, Phi Phi O'Hara, Raja, Raven, Shangela Laquifa Wadley, Tatianna, and Tyra Sanchez respectively.

This Boy Is A Bottom (NSFW)

The following video was released a few days ago by drag superstar, Willam Belli and it's absolultely hilarious!  I loved it so much, I had to download it.  You may remember, Willam was eliminated for breaking the rules in Season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race, where he went on to say he wasn't going to "RuPaulogize" for breaking the rules.

As with most videos by Belli, it is NSFW so make sure to have some headphones on or wait to play it at home.

The video parodies the song, "Girl is on Fire" by Alicia Keys.

RuStorm on X-Men????

Since we're on subject of comic book characters...

"There is a great heated and fun discussion going on right now on the Comic Book Resources Forum about this question: Should RuPaul replace Halle Berry as Storm in the next X-Men movie? To me, it’s as clear as a lucite hooker heel – hells to the yes. Join in, won’t you?"

Ron Paul's Drag Race Joins Twitter

You think I'm kidding, I'm not.  You gotta love The Advocate for giving us political satire at it's best!  Dressed in RuPaul's motorcycle garb, Ron Paul is ready for the race of his life.
@RonPaulDragRace, a new satirical Twitter account, pokes fun at current events and brings the seemingly opposing realms of politics and drag queens into one hysterical feed. See some of our favorite tweets, after the jump!

In other breaking news!!! Mike Ruiz and Elvira will be the first guest judges - you can't get any better than that!  Well...  actually, this season is chock-full of awesome judges, and we can't wait to see them all!  So without further ado, here's the trailer to another great season of RuPaul!

Hedda Lettuce Takes on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4 Contestants

Here's a little something for all you RuPaul Drag Race fans! It's a Monday, so I need to make you laugh.  Now, I'm sure that all of you know who Hedda Lettuce is?  Right?
If you don't - SHAME ON YOU! THAT'S HYPOCRISY!!!

Known as the The Queen of Green, she is one of the most popular drag queens around!  I would love to continue writing more about her, but you can read more about her at heddalettuce.com.  For now, I want to post this video where she gives her take on the season 4 contestants of RuPaul's Drag Race.  It's an absolute hoot.

Is it me, or are this year's drag queens a hot mess?  I don't think any of them match up to the previous drag race queens.

Red Ribbon Runway Auction

The National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) and the dancing queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race will be auctioning off the red ribbon-inspired gowns they wore in a public service announcement back in July.  It started on December 1st, but Logo TV, along with eBay, will be auctioning off these dresses until December 11.

The PSA featured Carmen Carerra, Alexis Mateo, Delta Work, Shangela Laquifa Wadley and Manila Luzon.  Unfortunately I couldn't find Delta's gown, but I'm sure it was just as fabulous!

You can catch the PSA after the jump.

Blade's Box of Jams: Track #6 - You're A Superstar!

I'm turning on my headphones, and currently listening to...

You're A Superstar!

I posted this song by RuPaul on on July 23, and as I was browsing my stats for the day to see which posts got the most views, this post made the top ten.

So yes, I'm currently listening to this jam!  And yes, Ryan and I are both dancing to it! LOL.

Raja Takes The Crown

On Monday night, as Ryan, and our friends watched the season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race, we were all waiting in anticipation for the final results.  "And the winner is......"

RAJA.

The contest was down to the final three, Alexis Mateo, Manilla Luzon and Raja.  They each filmed a music video with their Mama, RuPaul for her single, "Champion."  They were dragged up as Greek goddesses and looked absolutely fabulous, although Alexis Mateo's hair was on the larger side, she managed to make us laugh with her response, "The higher the hair, the closer to God."

Raja walked away with a lifetime supply of Kryolan Professional Makeup, a cash prize of $75,000 and a headlining spot on Logo's Drag Race Tour.  She will also be a spokesperson for Absolut Vodka, as all the drag queens usually are.

Check out the music video, "Champion" featuring the final three contestants, and feel free to read the interview given to Raja here.  The interview was given by Jethro Nededog at Zap2it, in regard to her controversial win.

Delta Work for Adam Bouska

I have to say, that out of all the contestants on RuPaul's Drag Race this season, none of them stuck to me like glue, like Ms. Delta Work.  She simply didn't put up with any of the petty bullshit thrown at her, and she kind of reminded me of Debbie from Queer as Folk.

When she was kicked off the show several weeks ago, all of us were disappointed, but we picked up the pieces and moved on.  We are definitely looking forward to the finale in a couple of weeks.  In the meantime, check out the great interview she recently had with The Seattle Gay Scene:

Delta Work, Where are you from?
Norwalk, California. Don’t you wish they all could be California girls?

When was your first time in drag and what did it feel like?
When I was 23, I was in a Madonna lip sync contest. I walked out on stage and fell completely on my ass. I felt like a complete idiot, but I got up and finished the damn thing. “Baptism by Fire”.

What makes you continue to perform and represent your community as a drag queen?
Performing, in a way, is like making your own music video or recreating a story, a time, and a place. Performing is also in many ways a commentary.

What was your first reaction when you heard the news on becoming a RPDR contestant?
I went CRAZY! I couldn’t see for a few hours and I lost my bowel control. It’s one hundred percent the highlight of my career, and I am so grateful.

How much tension was there in the hotel during the shooting of the show and were fremenies made?

In the hotel room, there is probably still tension there today. I always liked my time on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as it is like going to band camp, but you don’t always make friends with everyone.

If you learned something from this show, what would that be?
You can’t convince others of your fierceness if you can’t convince yourself.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would you absolutely need with you in order to survive?
Just Two: Music and Men!

Pick one – Lady Gaga or Cher?
Billie Holiday!

Yara, Yara, Yara

And the award for 'Creative Genius' goes to....

or is that 'Best Dressed?'

Courtesy of blogger, Michael K and RuPaul's Drag Race I bring you this hilarious dress review in regard to Ms. Sofia's ensemble at the New Now Next Awards in Hollywood last Thursday night.

So what's a down on her luck queen to do? Yara ran naked through her hotel lobby in search of the perfect outfit when she slipped on the floor, crashed into a black chiffon curtain (the cape), fell onto a table covered with white sequined coasters (the bikini) and stumbled over the balcony railing before smashing through a chandelier (the necklace) and landing head first on a plate full of carrots (the dreads) sitting on a table in the restaurant. Yara's hand was stuck in a silver bowl of black mashed caviar and after she used it to wipe away a little blood on her eye (the make-up), she turned around to find the entire restaurant gasping at her accidental glamour!

Only Yara Sofia can look like a He-Man villainess inspired by Carrot Top without even trying! BAM (wrong queen, I know).

Stranger Than Fiction Haleloo!

I don't even know where to begin with this. I'm going to make it short, because I don't even know where to begin with this.  Wait.  Did I just repeat myself?

So here I am, quietly reading my Entertainment Weekly, when the name D.J. Pierce creeps up.  I sat, asking myself quietly, why does that name sound so familiar?  Then I put two and two together, and figured out it was Ms. Shangela Laquifa Wadley from RuPaul's Drag Race.  Okay, so Entertainment Weekly helped me figure it out. Either way, the bitch has managed to walk away with reportedly an NBC television script also featuring Don Johnson and viral video celebrity Chris Crocker.

Here's a clip of the article and Shangela's role in it:
So what’s the deal with the show — and Shangela’s role on it? Here’s what’s what. A Mann’s World centers on Johnson, who plays Allan Mann, a Beverly Hills hairdresser (yes, really) who is having trouble staying relevant. And this is where Shangela comes into play: In the pilot, Shangela — err, D.J. Pierce — is set to play Snip, one of three fabulous, top-tiered stylists who come into Mann’s salon. (One-third of the trio will be played by Chris Crocker, who became famous after releasing a crying jag about Britney Spears’ infamously botched performance of “Gimme More” at the 2007 VMAs.) Also starring in the show are Sex and the City‘s Mario Cantone and Ellen Barkin. Sex and the City‘s Michael Patrick King is set to produce. Not a shabby cast or creative team, to say the least!
All I have to say, Shangela said it best when the show ended last week,
It’s a sad feeling because I definitely came back into this competition wanting to win. And it’s not been easy, but I’m leaving a winner,” Shangela said. “And it’s just a lesson for everyone who’s ever wanted to pursue a dream they’ve had. Live your passion, and live it to the fullest. Halle-lou!

Omg, when I saw this Craigslist ad, I literally fell on the floor laughing.  OMG - it's Hilarious!  I guess it's hilarious, because my friends, Rene, Michael, Guillermo and Kent watch this show after dinner with Ryan and I every week, so it makes it much funnier.
