“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Olbermann Returning as Quickly as He Left MSNBC

Slowly, but surely all news organizations will be abuzz about the return of Keith Olbermann to the political pundit scene.  In late breaking news Monday night, The New York Times is reporting that Olbermann will announce tomorrow that he will be joining Al Gore and company at Current TV

According to the Times, the domain name of TheOlbermannShow.com was registered two days before his on-air announcement that he was leaving MSNBC.

This could be more like the deal Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications struck for her new cable network, OWN.  How the show will premiere or air is unknown at this time, but I'm sure we will hear all about it tomorrow, and I will keep all you posted.

Yeah, Keith's back...ish. I knew he wouldn't be gone for long. I'm so happy.

I came to HP for the first time right after Keith said goobye. I was looking for information and for people who felt as I felt. Those here who don't understand will never understand. I think most of us were glad to have KO on OUR side. He was someone who put words to our thoughts. Especially during the Bush years, I needed KO as a palate-cleanser. I needed something to get that nasty Bush-War-Torture taste out of my liberal throat. The nightly backwards countdown from Bush's "Mission Accomplished" was sweet. And when Tea Partiers and smirky Republicans started talking about health care reform being crammed down OUR throats, I wanted KO to cram some truth down THEIR lying throats. Remember how he championed America's free clinics and decried Arizona's death panels? If you don't like Keith Olbermann, fine, don't watch him (or read him or listen to him). You've got your Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. By all means, enjoy that treacle-thick goo of lies they pour into your ears. Just don't act like only you get to have heros (such as they are). We each get to pick our own heroes. Keith Olbermann is one of mine and I miss him. And I'll take truth over FOXNews fiction any day. Where you go Keith, I will follow.
