“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Countdown with Keith Olbermann RETURNS!

YES!! The time is almost here. The moment every liberal has been waiting for... The Return of Countdown,  starring Keith Olbermann!!

Ryan and I have been waiting for this day for quite some time, especially since we're right around the corner from the 2012 Presidential Election, where the fate of our nation will remain in the hands of our current President, Barack Obama, or a Republican candidate that I can almost guarantee, will send our nation back 50-60 years.

Countdown premieres tonight on CURRENT TV at 7:00 PM Central Time.  His first guests will include Michael Moore and Daily Kos chief Markos Moulitsas, so make sure to check it out.

Worst Persons of the Day with Keith Olbermann - 04/25/2011

As I mentioned last Wednesday, Keith Olbermann has been blogging for quite sometime now, and yesterday morning I had the pleasure of reading about some exciting news being released today.

On one of his special segments titled, "First Guess," Keith posted the following:
WATCH THIS SPACE
As I mentioned on Twitter, we will have some big announcements tomorrow morning (Tuesday the 26th) about the new show on Current. There will be morning tweets, morning news stories, and, only on this site – VIDEO. Sorry for the suspense (not really, but I have to say that, don’t I?)
Until we hear the news today, let's see who were the Worst Persons of the Day yesterday.

Update:
Just as I was posting this blog, Keith releases a video on his special announcement.  And it's true!!! Countdown with Keith Olbermann will debut on Current TV on Monday, June 20th!  And it seems like MSNBC didn't trademark Countdown, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to do that.  As Olbermann states in his special announcement, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Update:
Keith's video, "Worst Persons of the Day" was removed and replaced with the special announcement video, so if you still wish to know what was on the original video. Here is the transcript.

Worst Persons of the Day with Keith Olbermann - 04/18/2011

As you may remember, the man pictured above was canned from MSNBC back in January.   Canned, framed, quit, either way I'm happy to report that Keith Olbermann has been back for sometime now, and until his new television show airs, he has been blogging from to time to time on his non-for-profit blog FOK News ChannelFOK translates to "Friends of Keith"

So let's start off with "Worst Persons of the Day" for April 18, 2011...

Keith Olbermann to Gain Control of Current TV's Entire News Department

Keith Olbermann comes back with a bang.  Not only did he manage to come away with the launching of a new  prime-time show in late spring - he's going to be running the show.  I don't mean just his show, but the whole entire news department at CURRENT TV.

According to the Daily Beast,
"He can donate to any political candidates he wants. On a conference call with reporters, Gore said he considered such contributions to be part of his employees’ “freedom of speech,” and Olbermann said that “our obligation to the viewer is to disclose.”
Olbermannn says his new show will be a far better program than the one he had at MSNBC, “an improved and we hope amplified and stronger version of the show I just did.”

After reading a few news sources, they all indicated that MSNBC and Olbermann had agreed to not disparge each other for a limited time.  Olbermann says he will discuss the NBC debacle at a later date.  And something else I didn't know... CURRENT TV reaches only 60 million people, but that's slightly more households than MSNBC held when Olbermann debuted his show in 2003.  We can't forget that Olbermann turned MSNBC into what it is today.  And I have no doubt he will do the same for CURRENT TV.  Ryan and I will be sure to get on the bandwagon as soon as we possibly can.   Hell, I introduced Ryan into politics and Keith Olbermann.  Then when that woman, Rachel Madcow launched her own show (with Keith's help) he started watching her too.

Olbermann Returning as Quickly as He Left MSNBC

Slowly, but surely all news organizations will be abuzz about the return of Keith Olbermann to the political pundit scene.  In late breaking news Monday night, The New York Times is reporting that Olbermann will announce tomorrow that he will be joining Al Gore and company at Current TV

According to the Times, the domain name of TheOlbermannShow.com was registered two days before his on-air announcement that he was leaving MSNBC.

This could be more like the deal Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications struck for her new cable network, OWN.  How the show will premiere or air is unknown at this time, but I'm sure we will hear all about it tomorrow, and I will keep all you posted.

Is Keith headed to CNN?

Friday night, Anderson Cooper spent, at least, the first seven minutes of his show on the fact that Keith Olbermann was fired ... I mean quit ... I mean ... that he was leaving MSNBC. I know, you must be as shocked as I am. Who knew his relationship with MSNBC would end so quickly? After all, it seems like they got along so well over the last four years.

Oh now ... come on! You have to have been living in a cave to think this would have ended any differently than it did that night. Why the big surprise? And really, who cares about the reasoning and the deal. All I wanted to know ... as I watched Anderson on Friday ... was: when is he going to announce he's headed to CNN? I was almost waiting for Anderson to spit out an on-air job offer.

"Please Keith, come to us at CNN. We have the space, and everyone knows, we desperately need your ratings! There is only so much Piers Morgan and I can do!"
It really is a no-brainer.

MSNBC is no longer an option, and clearly Fox News and Keith want no part of each other, and I am pretty sure TBS isn't going to rescue him, as they did Conan. A CNN and Keith marriage makes perfect sense. Where else is there for him to go? CNN must be his next spot, don't you think?

Looking at the CNN evening line-up it seems he could easily push out Parker/Spitzer for that 8 p.m. slot. I mean listen, business is business and the numbers are the numbers and the reality is that Olbermann's numbers blow out every single one of CNN's shows. Even Keith's 11pm re-air beats their prime-time line-up.

Regardless of whether you like Keith or not, regardless of whether he is an easy person to work with or not, he will anchor again — because he's got what it takes to bring in the viewers.

Here is his good-bye from Friday night:

Do you think he's heading to CNN?
