“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

On February 5th, A Legend Will Rock America's Largest Stage...

Madonna will take center stage at halftime of Super Bowl XLVI, flanked by Cirque du Soleil performers in what traditionally is one of the year's most watched shows.

The NFL announced Sunday night, in a press release, that the Michigan-born singer would headline the halftime show on February 5, 2012, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

She follows other high-profile acts in recent years, including the Black Eyed Peas and Usher during the most recent edition of pro football's championship game at Cowboys Stadium in Texas. [source]

I Had A Wonderful Birthday!

I had a wonderful weekend with my partner, Ryan and had the greatest birthday anyone could ever ask for.

It's amazing that after all these years together, I still feel the same for him as I did the very first time I laid eyes on him.  Better yet, I love him more today, than yesterday.  We've lived together and been inseparable all these years, and don't regret one moment of it.

I was talking with him the other day, and told him that it really doesn't feel any different turning 40, than turning 30 or 20.  I still feel young, or at least I think I do. LOL.  As for the knowledge I've gained over the years, yes, that has made me a better person.  We only get wiser with age.  I truly believe that by learning from all the mistakes I made during my twenties and thirties, it helped contribute to our relationship being as strong as it is today.

I had a wonderful, wonderful birthday because of you, my dear Ryan, and I Love You!

I got tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's 'Dralion', The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration on Blu-ray, The dvd box set of '24' and a snowglobe of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.   Not to mention, the wonderful dinner we had with our friends on Sunday night.  Everything was fabulous!

Batman Live Arena Tour

We've watched the news, read the newspaper, checked our online sources, and the Spider-Man Broadway show in New York has been a disaster from the "get-go", but the UK's Batman Live Arena Tour may be a different story.  The show released a new trailer to their much-anticipated European tour, and it looks pretty darn awesome.  The critics are complaining already, but I truly see hope in this.  First, it's not a musical, and second it looks like something Cirque du Soleil would put together.  Who knows, maybe the tour will make it to the U.S.
According to the BBC this massive on stage production cost millions, and promises a 100-foot stage "that will house scale models of Gotham City and a circus tent." The show also promises a Batmobile, martial arts and "gadgets."
Check out the trailer...

The first show for Batman Live, opens at the M.E.N. Arena on July 19, 2011. For more info go to www.batmanlive.com
