“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Which Dates Are Most Common for Making Love?

Yesterday I posted a chart where you could check to see if your birth date was one of the most common ones.  I even suggested that Fall and early Winter were probably the best time to conceive a child.

So of course I get online to day, and someone with a lot of time on their hands, edited the chart to reflect what I suggested, LOL.
What else is there to do in the winter? LOL

Which Birth Dates Are Most Common?

I'm going to assume Fall and early Winter are the best times to conceive a child, wouldn't you say?

Is Your Birthday Common?

I thought this infographic was pretty cool; I saw it on CNN a couple of days ago.  Find your Month and Day of your birth and locate the color that closely matches your birthday rank (Less common or More common).

My birthday is the same day as Prince Charles of England, November 14th - it's less common.  But if I was to look at my niece, Liliana's birthday of September 19, it's definitely "Most common".

The Joys of Being a Parent: The Coolest Grandparents

When I blog about the joys of being a parent, I usually come across a video of a parent or child doing something sweet, special or funny.  Or even babies!

For the first time I will be blogging about grandparents on this segment, and they're no ordinary grandma and grandpa - these two are super cool. They sing a song for their grandson, Josh who is turning 18 years old, and it's absolutely adorable.

Watch as they sing "those 18-yr old Birthday Blues" LOL.

President Obama's Birthday Message to Betty White

I absolutely loved this when I saw it on Hardball last night. It was downright hilarious.  As most of you know by now, Betty White turned 90 yesterday.  The iconic "Golden Girl" celebrity was given a birthday wish from our President.  Check it out.  It's pretty funny.

He's Hot, He's Asian, He's Harry Shum Jr. - Part пять

How did I miss Harry's birthday?  This just can't be!!!  My favorite Glee star celebrated his 29 birthday last April with this huge iPhone cake and huge muscles.  Harry turns 30 this year, and he still looks as gorgeous as ever!

I Had A Wonderful Birthday!

I had a wonderful weekend with my partner, Ryan and had the greatest birthday anyone could ever ask for.

It's amazing that after all these years together, I still feel the same for him as I did the very first time I laid eyes on him.  Better yet, I love him more today, than yesterday.  We've lived together and been inseparable all these years, and don't regret one moment of it.

I was talking with him the other day, and told him that it really doesn't feel any different turning 40, than turning 30 or 20.  I still feel young, or at least I think I do. LOL.  As for the knowledge I've gained over the years, yes, that has made me a better person.  We only get wiser with age.  I truly believe that by learning from all the mistakes I made during my twenties and thirties, it helped contribute to our relationship being as strong as it is today.

I had a wonderful, wonderful birthday because of you, my dear Ryan, and I Love You!

I got tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's 'Dralion', The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration on Blu-ray, The dvd box set of '24' and a snowglobe of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.   Not to mention, the wonderful dinner we had with our friends on Sunday night.  Everything was fabulous!

Isn't This The Truth? Birthdays

Remember the times we used to have huge birthday parties and get lots of presents? I know I did;  I remember having these huge birthday parties when we would go visit grandma, and all my cousins would come over. And I had lots of cousins!

Gone are those days. Today it's all about how many notifications we get.... Isn't this the truth?

The Civil War Turns 150 Today.

I have always loved American and World history; The Civil War especially.

150 years ago today, the American Civil War commenced when shots were fired at Fort Sumter.  And while the war took place so long ago, the issues involving that time still linger today, and I presume it will for many hundreds of years hereafter.  The Daily Beast has a great collection of Civil War photography, including portraits of Lincoln, Grant, and Lee.

You see, we are not a nation who's been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years like China, Russia, or England; Hell, our nation only turned 234 years old last July.

In a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released today, roughly one in four Americans said they sympathize more with the Confederacy than the Union, a figure that rises to nearly four in ten among white Southerners.
When asked the reason behind the Civil War, whether it was fought over slavery or states' rights, 52 percent of all Americas said the leaders of the Confederacy seceded to keep slavery legal in their state, but a sizeable 42 percent minority said slavery was not the main reason why those states seceded.
"The results of that question show that there are still racial, political and geographic divisions over the Civil War that still exists a century and a half later," CNN Polling Director Holland Keating said.
When broken down by political party, most Democrats said southern states seceded over slavery, independents were split and most Republicans said slavery was not the main reason that Confederate states left the Union.

Republicans were also most likely to say they admired the leaders of the southern states during the Civil War, with eight in 10 Republicans expressing admiration for the leaders in the South, virtually identical to the 79 percent of Republicans who admired the northern leaders during the Civil War.
We will have a divided nation long after we're gone, this is what will make our country one of the richest histories in the world.  Let us remember that in this nation of ours, we can agree to disagree.
