It's funny because it is unfortunately true, but the protest isn't about bitching cause they don't have a job, though that might have helped fuel all this rage. Corporate money has bought our government so that they have the President, lawmakers and supreme court justices all in their back pockets. Laws get made for the benefit of the corporations like tax and legal benefits that ultimately are destroying the middle class. We have to pay more taxes then they do even when the country is hurting because of the mess that they caused and got away with. We work for them all our lives for them to take away our bonuses and raises and jobs when the time gets tough as they still make their millions or glide away on a golden parachute. We try and sue them for their criminal activities only to find out that we legally can't because the government has put in laws to limit their losses from legal battles. Ironically it's all our fault too that it got this way. The 99% bought the mortgages that they couldn't pay so a whole bunch of foreclosures help bring our economy to the brink of destruction. The 99% voted on tort reform laws that restrict us from going to court to try and fight these CEO's and the crimes that they have committed. Hell, the 99% voted for Regan, both Bushes and Clinton that helped continue to either fight for less regulations on the banks and wall street or sit back and let them do whatever they wanted to. The 99% enjoyed the economic success of the 80's and 90's that all these bank and wall street guys helped generate. Whether it was the never ending free-ness that all banks provided from no fee checking account to nothing down mortgage deals with teaser interest rates, or wall street stock and 401k options that would payback 80% returns on nothing but fraudulent deals and cooked accounting books. We loved it. We were apathetic, lazy and blind and we let these criminals do this to us for years as long as things were good and we were getting our fair share too. But with everything comes a price to pay, and those golden pre-millenia years have one large fucking bill that's come up for collection. The only problem is that while we're paying for this dilemma with our jobs, our taxes and our very lives; the people that helped get us into this mess are paying nothing for it. They still want their billions and now they're getting it off our very backs. And they very well can as long as they control the lawmakers, the justice system and our leaders themselves. I remember watching a documentary on healthcare and a question was asked on why parts of Europe have a public healthcare system and we don't? The answer was simple. In the past there was no public healthcare until the people fought for it. They protested and wouldn't stop until they got what they wanted. Even since then anytime the government does something that they people don't like, they protest and the government listens. Why? The government is afraid of the people in Europe and they don't want to piss them off. That's how it should be and not the other way around. It's time we stood up and fought this injustice, inequality and criminality that has infected our government and economy for decades. Our founding fathers escaped from a wealthy king to go and create their own government that was run by the people and for the people and not by and for the corporations, wall street and the banks. These protests must continue for the good of this country and for it's future, or there will be a 1% upper ruling class while the remaining 99% are just the struggling poor and the middle class becomes something our children will refer to as: What Mommy and Daddy used to be before President Romney took over.
Only in my case it will be Daddy and Daddy but you get the frick'n point.
