“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

The McGrand Tomato

Wow, leave it to the Japanese to come up with these insane McDonald's ads.  "Insane" meaning, pretty cool.  And why is it that foreign companies come up with the best ads, or newest products?  I never heard of this sandwich, but it does sound good. :-).  Love the couture.

Isn't This The Truth? Fast Food vs. Fast Food Ads

How many times have you gone to a restaurant and your sandwich or taco didn't look as pretty as the advertisement?  I have, many times.  And this chart lays it out plain and simple for you.

Gay Ads That Matter - Issue No. 006 - Come As You Are

I honestly didn't realize it had been over 2 months since I posted an issue of "Gay Ads That Matter," until today, when I came across an ad that was released by McDonald's back in 2010.  There was a lot of controversy over this ad, primarily from Republicans, and the conservative right.  Fox News' O'Reilly went all psychotic on it.

I remember posting this ad on Facebook about a year ago, and it's titled "Come As You Are."  The reason why it matters, is because it features a young guy, either in high school or college, eating in a McDonald's restaurant with his dad, who doesn't know that his son is gay.  While the video doesn't say he's gay per se, it does imply it by having the boy talking to a classmate while looking at a class photo of  an all boys school. At the end of the commercial, it confirms it by saying, "Come As You Are."

The brand director of McDonald's in France had this to say...
"We wanted to take a look at how French society is today. We're very comfortable with the topic of homosexuality, there is obviously no problem with homosexuality in France today". While the statement sounds a bit naive in a country where same sex couples cannot legally marry nor adopt, the idea was to give a positive image of the brand: "The point was not to show someone who is troubled, especially a teenager. We know it can be difficult for some people, but we wouldn't have dared show someone who is struggling".
I commend McDonald's for doing this commercial; I only wish they would have made an American version.  Until then, we'll only get the ones that will make fun of who we are.  Especially around Super Bowl time.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible

I actually watched the video below yesterday morning, and got so sickened by it, I couldn't bring myself to blog about it.  I can honestly say, not very many people make me angry or sick to my stomach, but the very people who were behind this horrible beating, made me extremely nauseous.

Also, yesterday morning I had just finished blogging about another McDonald's incident that occurred a couple of weeks ago when I came across this one. What these young girls did is beyond redemption, it is so serious that investigators are now contemplating pressing hate crime charges on the perpetrators.

The vicious girls, who are 14 and 18 yrs old, dragged 22 year old Chrissy Lee Polis across the McDonald's restaurant to the point where her hair was literally being torn off her scalp.  It is one of the most disturbing videos I have ever seen.  And my anger is also directed at the McDonald's employees who were taping and watching the incident with no one offering to help.  A customer attempted to help her, but the kicking and beating simply continued.

Update:

The McDonald's employee who taped the incident has been fired, and the franchise owner says he may take further action against her employees.  All I can say is, God Bless her, because McDonald's may have several lawsuits heading their way.  Even if they don't go to trial, settlements could ensue.

Mind-Boggling News: Woman Goes On Rampage at Fast Food Restaurant

What is wrong with people, really?  Am I just being too judgemental?

When idiots like this (see video) walk into a McDonald's restaurant, and go all American Psycho on the employees, they're not only making a fool of themselves, but showing the world how well our education system is working. Okay, maybe I shouldn't have said that, because smart people pull this crap too.  In either case, this is the second time in two weeks I've come across a disturbing video a involving a McDonald's restaurant.

I don't think I'll be working at a McDonald's anytime soon - it's life or death it seems like.  My love (my partner Ryan), if you're reading this, please stay at Bank of America - it's safer!

Mind-Boggling News: National Hiring Day Consists of Running Over People

Remember when McDonald's announced two weeks ago that they were going to hold a National Hiring Day in order to fill 50,000 jobs at all it's restaurants?

Well... Ronald  is frowning, and it looks like Mr.McDonald   got more than he bargained for.  Now we wait and see what lawsuits will be popping-up out of this crazy-ass incident.  Even though McDonald's is indirectly involved, these bitches will somehow find a way to sue - mark. my. words.

On Tuesday, in "what was supposed to be an uplifting event to help boost the economy," two bitches went for each other's throats, probably because there wasn't enough "Bic Mac's secret sauce" on one of their burgers.  This shit is crazy - like for real.

One of the bitches ran over the store's owner, manager and several other people before driving off.

Mc Donald's New Oatmeal - Is It Really Healthy?

By now everyone has seen the new commercial from McDonald's featuring their new "Fruit & Maple" oatmeal, and it looks downright yummy doesn't it?  But what's in it?  Is it really healthy?

Well the website, Mother Nature Network did some investigating, and has provided some results.

Is McDonald's new 'Fruit and Maple Oatmeal' as cheap and healthy as old-school oats?
