Childbirth vs. Kicked in the Balls
So which hurts more? Childbirth or getting kicked in the balls? Women will argue it's them, because giving birth is like fitting a watermelon sized object through a coin-sized hole. But according to Asap Science - it's a tie! He says, we all perceive pain differently. Watch the video - you may learn something.

Back In The Day - The 90's vs. Today
These pictures are hilarious, because they're so true. I especially love how Blockbuster went from a mega superstore (overtaking every mom and pop shop video store), to becoming almost obsolete. When was the last time you rented a video? LOL.
Six more pics after the jump...

How Many Weeks Do You Get For Paid Maternity Leave?
I found this article rather fascinating. And it would probably be more fascinating for pregnant women and/or expecting fathers.
There are exactly three countries on Earth that do not provide guarantees for paid maternity leave. Papua New Guinea and Swaziland are two of them. Care to guess the third?
There are exactly three countries on Earth that do not provide guarantees for paid maternity leave. Papua New Guinea and Swaziland are two of them. Care to guess the third?
Courtesy of Think Progress Health: Out of 178 nations, the U.S. is one of three that does not offer paid maternity leave benefits, let alone paid leave for fathers, which more than 50 of these nations offer. Here’s how the U.S. stacks up to 14 other countries:
In comparison, Canada and Norway offer generous benefits that can be shared between the father and mother, France offers about four months, and even Mexico and Pakistan are among the nations offer 12 weeks paid leave for mothers.
American women are offered 12 weeks of unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, which exempts companies with fewer than 50 paid employees, but in 2011, only 11 percent of private sector workers and 17 percent of public workers reported that they had access to paid maternity leave through their employer. And for first-time mothers, only about half can take paid leave when they give birth. Read More...

Long Weekend...
I had such an amazing time this weekend. My very pregnant sister, Vicky, and her husband, Luther, came up on Thursday, and stayed through Sunday - which is why you didn't see me blogging as much - it was sporadic at best. We had such a wonderful time, I had homemade enchiladas, charro beans and Spanish rice ready for them when they arrived; after dinner we sat and talked for a good while.
My partner, Ryan arrived a little before dinner with some terrific news - he passed both his state and national tests for his Real Estate License. He was extremely ecstatic, and so were we.
On Friday, I woke up and made homemade omelets for everybody, and we went out shopping. Same thing on Saturday, I woke up and made biscuits, refried beans, potatoes, eggs and turkey bacon - we ate like pigs. We went out to Babies 'R Us, and Baby's & Kid's 1st Furniture, where they ended up finding an awesome deal on a bedroom set for Liliana's bedroom.
While we were at Babies 'R Us, Ryan found a teddy bear for Liliana, and we bought it for her. This will be her very first Teddy Bear!
After shopping on Saturday, we had dinner at Red Lobster, and headed home to rest. We were all exhausted from a very long day, but we had so much fun.
Personally, I think time flew by too quickly, before we knew it, Sunday was already here. Our friend Abbie, came over to wish Vicky and Luther the best on their pregnancy, and by 1 o'clock they were on their way back to Corpus Christi. I shed a few tears after they left, but we will see them again at the end of July for their baby shower.
It was an eventful weekend I will never forget, and better yet, today is mine and Ryan's 6 year anniversary - which I will blog about later today.

We Are Going To Be Uncles For The First Time!!!!!
On Thursday night, my partner and I learned that we are going to be Uncles for the first time! Hell, my parents will be Grandparents for the first time! Even though my step-daughters from a previous relationship call my parents Granny Trina & Pops, the informal words have a deeper purpose, because one of their own children is having a baby. "Their baby girl" is having a baby.
There are no words to explain my excitement and the amount of joy I have in my heart for both my baby sister and her husband. I only have one sibling, hence another reason this means so much to me. I can't even describe the feeling I get when I talk about this or mention it to other people. I also can't imagine my sister being pregnant or with a big belly. Ahhhh, the joy of seeing her progression in the coming months, even if it is primarily through Facebook. LOL. She knows Ryan and I love her - she knows her nieces, Francesca and Jessica love her. We are all happy for her and her husband.
Just to explain where I'm coming from, I'd like to share a little of what this means to all of us...
When I was with my previous partner of 4 years he had two beautiful baby girls, Francesca and Jesssica, whom he had with his ex-wife, Debbie. I became an instant parent overnight, helping them with schoolwork, dance recitals, swim meets, and even coached their soccer teams; I continued to do so even after my relationship with David was over. Then I met Ryan and the girls just kept getting older and older and before you knew it, they were both in High School. The oldest, Francesca, just had her 16th birthday and got her driver's permit within the last 2 months. Last month my parents drove up from Corpus Christi to Houston for Francesca's birthday party. And even though they may not see Francesca and Jessica but twice a year, they know they are loved as Grandparents, and will forever be a part of their lives. The girls are their first grandchildren through my relationship with David, but baby Fasnacht (my brother in law's surname) will be their first grandchild by birth.
Ryan and I plan to have our own children someday, and soon there will be many more grandchildren, who knows, but one thing is certain... nothing can beat the joy of raising a child. I've had my chance and now my sister will get hers. What a blessing this is.
Ryan and I love you baby sister; may God watch over you and Luther in the coming months. We pray He help guide you and keep you healthy as you bask in the joy of this beautiful pregnancy.
And thank God there will be no more "May" Babies!!! LOL
