“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

The Best Burger in America - As if......

..... we didn't know who had the best burger in town.  Seriously though; If you're from Texas, or from Corpus Christi for that matter - you're all too familiar with the famous burger that had many of us munching on them when the bars closed on any given night.  I won't even begin to tell you how well Whataburger employees knew me. LOL.

Corpus Christi, Texas is the birthplace of this wonderful creation and so proud to say, "We're CHAMPIONS!!"

Thank you Fast Company for sharing this info.

And The Best-Written TV Show Ever is...

It feels like I'm having Déjà vu or something.  I could've sworn I told somebody the other day at work "Game of Thrones is so well-written, but whether it can beat The Sopranos, I don't know." And Lord and behold, The Sopranos is named the best-written TV show ever.  Too weird for words.

Don't worry fans of M*A*S*H, Seinfield, Mad Men, The West Wing, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, and many others; Your show was on this same list of top 101 best-written shows.  Over the weekend, the Writer's Guild of America released its list and TIME magazine ran an editorial about it.  You can read about it here, and check out the list here.

The Cities Where A Paycheck Stretches The Furthest

So now you can add the city of Houston to another list of accomplishments.
Not only has the fourth largest city in the nation been previously ranked the #1 fastest growing city in North America - it's #1 in job growth, #1 in manufacturing, #1 in wage growth, and the #1 world's fastest growing metro area.   And if that isn't enough for you, it can now call itself the #1 best city to live in.

According to Forbes Magazine, Houstonions can stretch their paychecks much further than any other city in the country.  Houston has the lowest cost of living when it comes to utilities, transportation, consumer pricing, and most importantly housing costs; Buying a house in Houston has never been more affordable.

Check out the article here, and be proud of our city.  Don't worry Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth - you rank 5th and 8th respectively.

Thank you, Mayor Annise Parker, for sharing the news on Facebook yesterday!

Must Watch: Best Fails of 2011

We are coming towards the end of the year and today starts the Mayan Calendar countdown.

As you all know by now, the end of the world is upon us and it will end exactly one year from today.  Nevermind that God said no one will know when the world will end. If the Mayans say it is so, then it is.

In the meantime, keep yourself entertained for 12 minutes by watching this great video of the Best Fails of 2011.  These are definitely some of the best and dumbest stunts I've seen.

Truly an awesome video.  Actor/Director, Luc Bergeron spliced together some of the best video clips from over the past year and created this masterpiece.  Being a blogger, it struck a chord with me.  Check it out, it's really great.  You may even recognize some of the clips.
