It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. The Launch of a Lego Space Shuttle

For any lover of space or science fiction, you will love this fantastic video!  The music and the whole idea of it was just impressive.  It's heartbreaking to know that we will no longer hear of our Space Shuttle or when the next launch date will be.  I never realized how much this would affect me, but the Space Shuttle program started and ended in my lifetime.  I was in 8th grade when the Space Challenger exploded and it was the greatest tragedy I had ever experienced.  Who knew that a toy could make me feel so much nostalgia.
In the following video Raul Oaida used a helium-filled weather balloon to launch a Lego Space Shuttle to an altitude of 114,000 feet. He explains why he did it and how much effort went into completing this project on his website.

YouTube Description: My name is Raul Oaida (from Romania) and this is my LEGO tribute to the end of the space shuttle era. Proving that although retired, this machine can still fly, albeit in toy form.

The launch took place from central Germany (easy flight clearance) and reached a max altitude of 35000m. A 1600g meteo balloon filled with helium was used alongside a GoPro Hero, Spot GPS and of course Lego Space Shuttle model 3367.

We launched it on the 31st of December 2011, the equipment was recovered via GPS tracking 240 km S-E from a remote area.

I wish to thank Steve Sammartino for the opportunity to do this project and the german airtraffic control for the understanding.

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 07 - Hang Up a Clothes Line

The Global Warming Survival Guide

I can't remember how many times I had to go outside and pull down all the laundry from our clotheslines after my mother hung it out to dry in the morning.  It was one of those chores I hated doing when I was growing up, but I did it. Well, I had to. LOL.  Ironically enough people still do it, and it's a sure-fire way to save on electricity and the environment.  So yes, how we dry our clothes is one of the "Things We Can Do To Save The Environment".

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can meet these goals.  And yes, even one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU! - Peter aka Blade7184

7. Hang Up a Clothes Line

You could make your own clothes with needle and thread using 100% organic cotton sheared from sheep you raised on a Whole Foods diet, but the environmental quality of your wardrobe is ultimately determined by the way you wash it. A recent study by Cambridge University's Institute of Manufacturing found that 60% of the energy associated with a piece of clothing is spent in washing and drying it. Over its lifetime, a T shirt can send up to 9 lbs. of carbon dioxide into the air.

The solution is not to avoid doing laundry, tempting as that may be. Rather, wash your clothes in warm water instead of hot, and save up to launder a few big loads instead of many smaller ones. Use the most efficient machine you can find—newer ones can use as little as one-fourth the energy of older machines. When they're clean, dry your clothes the natural way, by hanging them on a line rather than loading them in a dryer. Altogether you can reduce the CO2 created by your laundry up to 90%. Plus, no more magically disappearing socks.
Make sure to follow Blade 7184 every Tuesday for a new issue of Things We Can Do To Save The Environment.  Each issue is thought-provoking, informative and may hold the key to saving your children and grandchildren's future.

Quoted: Jonathan A. Dublin on Anger & Resentment

When we are blinded by anger and resentment, we have to come to the realization that the choice to look within yourself and realize that the only way we are going to change the situation is if we change ourselves. Only then will we see things in a different light and begin to make a real difference in our lives, relationships, and our circumstances. People go through life wanting to change things or get different results, but how can anything change if we are not changing the way we think or not approaching things in a different way. An attempt to get different results by using the same way of thinking. Thats what drives people mad. Thats what shatters dreams. THAT IS WHAT ENDS RELATIONSHIPS weather it be a husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, or friend.

Always remember a time when things where good and aim towards that. Do anything it takes. Love that person. Embrace them. Stay optimistic. Dont act on your emotions. Stop and look at things from outside of the trunk you're trapped in. Then do something. Don't wait till you wake up one night in a cold sweat beating yourself up because you never made amends and you never will because you just left roses on the casket of a soulless body that you once knew but will never see again. Life goes by in a blink of a second, dont wait till your eyes are permanently shut. Jonathan A. Dublin on Anger & Resentment

Star Wars Conceptual Drawings

These are not some random Star Wars pictures, these are the original hand drawn conceptual drawings for the original trilogy.  Credit is due to this guy here, who passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012.

The Joys of Being a Parent: A Dad's Reply To Son in College

Ahhhh, "The Joys of Being a Parent" with a kid in college. LOL.  And if you don't have a teenager attending one yet, expect it soon, because this is what it's like.  This was absolutely hilarious, but absolutely genius at the same time.  Way to go Dad. LOL.

Must Watch: Breaking News! The Three Little Pigs Boil Big Bad Wolf Alive!

Wow, this has got to be the best advertisement I've seen so far this year, it definitely surpasses the 2012 Superbowl ads.  The following ad is for The Guardian newspaper over in the U.K., and it uses the famous fairy tale, The Three Little Pigs to demonstrate how their news team would cover every angle of a crime.
So pretty much, the 3 little pigs are arrested for boiling the Big Bad Wolf alive which in turn causes a huge controversy expanding to every social media network available, the public gets in on it, and the pigs go to trial.

Overall, The Guardian covered the crime, did a pretty damn good job getting their message across, and the video has gone viral within a matter of days.  You can't get any more awesome than that.

What a Hot Mess: GIVE IT TO YOUR WOMAN - IT'S HER JOB

So imagine finding a sexist laundry tag as you're about to wash your husband's clothes over the weekend.  Emma Barnett who works at the Daily Telegraph was about to wash her boyfriend's "new trousers" yesterday when she encountered just that.
The laundry tag has the normal care instructions you're used to seeing, like "machine wash with warm water, blah, blah, blah," but throws in "or GIVE IT TO YOUR WOMAN - IT'S HER JOB."  LMAO.  What a hot mess!

Emma wasn't too happy, she states she received an over-whelming response when she posted it on Twitter and will soon be releasing the brand's name today.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 53 - BATDOG vs. SUPERCAT

Okay, I know it isn't Halloween yet - we're still 7 months away.  But I thought these pics were too cute not to share.  These are your quintessential Superhero pets!  Meet BATDOG and SUPERCAT.

Our Forever Home Goal

If the slideshow below is any indication that we are so ready to move out and buy our forever home, this is it.  Over the weekend someone stole some stepping stones from our yard, and I swear, I was about to lose it.  I can't count the number of times our home has been vandalized over the past 6 years.  I always come close to buying a surveillance camera, but I keep telling myself 2 more years, 2 more years - LOL - the time we will be leaving our subdivision.

Ryan and I have spent the last several weeks looking at homes and figuring out what kind of house we want our forever home to look like, and I believe we found it.  This is the home we want to have built; if not, buy one that looks just like it.

Two and half years may seem like a long time, but it's a goal we will definitely succeed in.  For nearly 7 years, Ryan and I have been working on a set of goals, and we've managed to accomplish each and every one.  There have been setbacks (of course), but we've gotten up and followed through with each of them.

In August of this year we will be completing another goal, with our our next goal focused on that home you see above.  As for the remaining goals in our life, as in marriage and raising a child, those are next in line.  I just wanted to give you, my friends and family, an update on our future hopes and dreams.  Dreams we will accomplish, Lord willing.

How To Own A Cop

So what happens when you urinate in front of cops?  You get yourself put in the slammer!  Trust me, I know.  LOL.

Meet Dennis Roady, he likes to piss cops off.  He uses a water bottle to pretend like he's urinating in public, and the cops, well... I'll let you watch the funny video.  LMAO.

The Marketplace Works

Isn't it lovely that a minority of American's know how the marketplace works?  It's very simple, the free market allows the farmer to grow his apples who sets the price at .50 cents and then sells them to the consumer (you and I).  Same thing goes for the orange farmer, who grows them, and he sells them to us for .75 cents.  So simple, right?

And it's just that simple with gasoline...  NOT!  Keep in mind that the United States is not part of OPEC which sets the price on oil.

Roommate Rants About Missing Food

So what do you do when you start missing food from your apartment?  You go online and start to rant about it, right?  So take a look at what sneaks in through this guy's window as he rant's about his roommates stealing food.  The video capture is priceless! LOL.

Blade's Box of Jams: Track #16 - Monday Morning

Currently listening to

Melanie Fiona

It's a Monday!  Everybody's favorite day of the week!  Actually, I think I'm the only one who thinks it so.

A majority of you have never heard of this artist, but if you want something to make you dance while you get dressed on a Monday morning, this song will get you to move.  Hell I'm shaking my ass right now, and I'm typing!

Melanie Fiona is a Canadian R&B singer I discovered while listening to another one of her tracks and the moment I heard "Monday Morning" my Mondays have never been the same.  I now play it every Monday as I drive to work and it makes me smile and jump for joy!  She's absolutely fantastic!  The song is featured on her album, "The Bridge" which was released in 2009.

Unfortunately, the song never debuted in the United States, but it did reach number one on the Swiss Singles Chart, and has also become successful in Poland, Austria and Hungary, reaching number one there as well.

So without further ado, listen to Melanie this Monday morning...

If you wish to hear the song with lyrics, view it after the jump...

Some Pretty Cool Stuff - Issue No. 004

I came across "Some Pretty Cool Stuff" that I want, but would probably be useless to me at this point in my life.  But who cares - I still want them.  In this week's issue there's a promising product that hasn't made it on the market quite yet, but every camper would love. And if you're a guitar player, the first product on my wishlist today serves two purposes - to cut up your credit cards, and create your own picks.

The Pickmaster Plectrum Punch
I would have loved one of these when I had my guitar.  It is definitely the perfect accessory for guitar players, and we’re not talking about the colored button-pressing variety. It’s essentially a rock-inspired hole puncher designed to turn old gift cards, ids, and credit cards into personalized strummers. So kiss those worries about your pick clashing with your mullet and sequins goodbye. $39.00
The Free Key - Key Ring
I wish i had some of these now ~ just broke a nail swapping keys around on traditional key rings this weekend! These Free Key “Press-To-Open” flat keyrings by Eric von Schoultz made of sand blasted stainless steel are nail savers ~ just press/pinch and the leverage helps open the end! Nice and easy to slip the keys on and off when needed. Cute packaging as well ~ see lots of pics on the next page!  Unfortunately these are not for sale in the U.S., but you can purchase them on Amazon! $10.70

Orange's Concept Solar Tent
Now this is totally cool, what more could you ask for?  I would have seriously wanted one of these when I was in the Boy Scouts!  A solar tent with a heating floor, a place to charge your accessories, WiFi capability and the best part of it all - it glows in the dark.  That's what I'm talking about.  This tent hasn't gone into production just yet, but a concept tent was revealed over in Europe and you can read all about it here.  Check it out, the article is great.
