Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Heartbreak Mountain

I never really liked the movie Brokeback Mountain, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger.  I guess being a gay man I should have, but it just didn't do anything for me.  Hell, I have more straight friends than gay ones who loved the movie more than Ryan or myself.  I don't know, maybe I need to watch it again or something.

In either case, the reason for this post is.... I came across a fan-made video of the movie with Adele's song, "Someone Like You" used as the backdrop.  And I'd have to say I was drawn to it, hence the reason for my blog title, Heartbreak Mountain.  You have to watch it to understand what I'm talking about.

YouTube Description:  This is a challenge I set to myself, making a video unrelated to my previous ones and this song by Adele seemed like perfect for the story of Jack and Ennis from Brokeback Mountain.

Brokeback Mountain won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and was honored with Best Picture and Best Director accolades from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Golden Globe Awards, Producers Guild of America, Critics Choice Awards, and Independent Spirit Awards among many other organizations and festivals.

In the end, no matter who you love, the feelings are the same.

My special thanks to my dear friend Yellowbee for support! :)

Made in memory of Heath Ledger for his enormous performance as well as Jake Gyllenhaal. ~

This made me cry uncontrollably. The passion and love they felt for each other, compressed by society, but ended by hate. Another sad love story left unbroken. The heart wrenching fact about watching this video is that this really does happen. The best video I have seen with Adele's untouchable melody. I pray for the day when peace reigns. When love is expressed throughout the world. Stop hate! Come together!

I agree that was pretty powerful stuff there!

:(..... I just love you so much, my love. Sure, the movie had its' slow parts, but overall it was an excellent movie. I know how much you always want a happy ending, though. I think it is time for a well made gay romantic comedy with big name stars to boot. No cheesy, low budget, no name talent, that either involves coming out, depression, acceptance, suicide or anything tragic. Give us a light hearted gay romcom that doesn't suck and I really think people will like it.
