“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

What a Hot Mess: Ford vs. Chevrolet

I swore I wasn't going to post any Superbowl commercials, but I have to talk about this one.  As you probably already know, in the commercial you see a man driving his 2012 Chevy Silverado through an apocalyptic city.  It's the end of the world, remember?

The driver continues maneuvering through the destruction as Barry Manilow's "Looks Like We Made It" plays in the background.  He eventually comes across his buddies who all happen to own previous year models, when he asks, "Where's Dave?"
And it's the response from this man that starts a mess of a battle between two of America's largest Automakers, "Dave didn't drive the longest-lasting, most-dependable truck on the road.  Dave drove a Ford."

Well Ford wasn't going to have any of that.  In fact, they tried to keep it from airing the day of the Superbowl by issuing a cease-and-desist order to NBC.  But it didn't work.  And now the CEO's are back and forth sending each other ridiculous letters that I found quite humorous. [source]

You know General Motors is having so much fun with this... they issued the following statement:
"We stand by our claims in the commercial, that the Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickup on the road," said GM Global Chief Marketing Officer Joel Ewanick in a press release. "We can wait until the world ends, and if we need to, we will apologize. In the meantime, people who are really worried about the Mayan calendar coming true should buy a Silverado right away."

A Happy Chevy Grad - Superbowl Winning Commercial

Because we all know America's Team is out of the playoffs.  The Texans handed the Ravens a win, who in turn lost to the Patriots - a team nobody really cares about.  And well, nobody can really stand the Giants, so what's the point?

Commercials!  You know everybody watches the Superbowl for the commercials.  It will be the perfect time to DVR and fast forward through the entire game. LOL.

Here's Zack Borst's winning entry to Chevrolet's Route66 competition chevroletroute66.com. This Chevy ad will appear during Super Bowl XLVI.  Check it out, it's pretty darn funny.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 43 - Best Commercial Ever!!!

Yes, everyone is saying it's the best commercial ever, so I had to post it.  Even Ryan sent me the video last night so that when I got to work I'd find it in my inbox. LOL. Thanks my love!
Remember last year's Volkswagen commercial with little Darth?  Well, this time around it's a group of loving "man's best friends"

Check it out.  It's supposedly a teaser until the big reveal on Super Bowl Sunday.

Darth Vader Montage

Being the iconic character that he is, no wonder so many corporations use him.  But they left out the best commercial of them all.  Last year's Volkswagen Superbowl commercial, featuring little Darth.

In either case, it was pretty cool to see some of the old cheesy ones compared to the newer ones.  Makes one feel older.

Who Was That Caveman Looking Guy?

If you're asking who was the caveman-looking dude behind Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne Sunday night, that was none other, than Justin Bieber himself.  Yes, the Best Buy commercial which aired Sunday night featured Ozzy and Bieber pushing Best Buy's promise to buy back old technology when you purchase an upgrade.

They were dressed up in futuristic clothing, promoting 5G and 6G networks, neither of which are available today.  The premise was: that Best Buy is the "go to" place for all your electronic needs.

The punchline? Ozzy Ozbourne asking his wife Sharon, "What's a Bieber?"  and the scary guy coming up from behind, telling them, "I don't know, but he looks like a girl."

Both of which are based on actual events.  While Ozzy was being interviewed for a Latin program several weeks ago, he was asked a question on whether he listened to Justin Bieber, Ozzy responded by asking, "What's a Bieber?" LOL.

The latter being that he looks like a girl or a lesbian, both of which have gone viral over the internet, on radio and TV.

Watch the famous duo go at it...

The Best Superbowl Ad of the Night

In my opinion, I think Chrysler did a phenomenal job with their 2 minute spot during the Superbowl last night.

There was a story behind the ad, indicating Detroit was once a place of the hard-working American man, and still is today.  It focused on several areas of Detroit that have touched peoples lives, places where the people of Detroit can call iconic.  And it was like a movie trailer, in the sense that it delivered it's main plot in the end.  Leaving you breathless and exhilarated; knowing that you live in a country so great as ours that can give you something nobody else can... hope.

May The Force Be With Him?

I'm sorry, this video was too cute not to share. Not one word was used in the production of this commercial, but it got the message across... Don't f*ck with The Force. Oh... wait, I guess you don't want to be on the Dark Side.
