Post Secret Fridays - Issue 110

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.

On Back of Card:  I like to think that she's my dad, reincarnated.

Email Response from Sender:  Frank, I'd like to share the good news that came from my PostSecret App Secret I posted several months ago.

Six weeks ago I got the text of a lifetime, after five weeks of courage we finally talked for a couple minutes, awkward but encouraging. I am flying out to see him in five days to reunite after seven years. I still don't know what I am going to say or do when I finally see him but I am nervously excited.

While it may not be smooth sailing ahead, I can say that I have stopped having nightmares, my heart is starting to heal and that my soul is finally at peace.

I am now a firm believer that there's real hope for us all.

P.S. I hear you'll be at my alma mater tomorrow. Sad it sold out before I bought tickets, enjoy the beautiful campus!

Isn't This The Truth? The First Honest Cable Company

You know? As many times as Ryan and I have called the cable company over the past year, I'm starting to think that everything in this video is true.  Cable companies are all in cahoots together - just so they can make "pools of money".

Little do they know I'm getting a $50 credit on my monthly bill until 2060, LOL.  I love it.  In either case, watch this video, it's absolutely hilarious, and oh, so true.  NSFW - contains some vulgar language.  Not suitable for children under 18.

Bieber Strips For Poland - FOR FREE!

So apparently when it's -10 degrees outside and you arrive at an airport, you're supposed to strip until you're half-naked.  At least that's what Justin Bieber thinks one should do.  Poor kid, what is up with him lately.  Granted, he's cute and all, but c'mon.

A spokesman for the airport said, “He wasn’t told to take off his clothes. He had no metal objects on him... He’s quite skinny so I assume he was probably freezing."

I think he's just one of those boys that doesn't like wearing much clothes.  And he loves the attention.  Full story at the NY Daily News.

The Shadow Dancer - Diet Wiegman

I spotted this crazy video online today and was fascinated by the artist behind it.  Diet Weigman takes piles of junk or objects of no importance and turns them into a work of art.  But it isn't the junk that creates the art, it's the shadow the rubbish portrays on the screen or wall.

When lit, the images of Michael Angelo's David, miscellaneous objects or various people appear before your eyes.  Video below.

Things That Make You Go Hmmm... H2O

Hydrogen is an explosive gas.

Oxygen supports combustion.

Yet when these are combined it is water which is used to put out fires.

Zombie Story

You want proof The Walking Dead and Toy Story are very much alike? Then look no further, I found it!  LMAO.

Written by John Wray and posted by redditor jimmylegs50, the following images are absolutely hilarious, but they truly fit.  You can see a few below and all forty after the jump.

Check out the rest after the jump...

Sir Ravi The Juggler 2

Yep, Ravi is back, and this time he isn't messing around.  Two weeks ago I posted a video of him juggling two balls and a Rubik's Cube.  He solved it in 1-1/2 minutes! WHILE JUGGLING!

But this time around, Ravi juggles three Rubik's cubes and attempts to solve all three at the same time!  Does he do it?  Check him out.

My Gay Agenda

I thought this image was humorous, but I had to say something about it...

Yeah, so we've heard it all before.  We gays have an agenda.  All gays want to force homosexuality down people's throats, molest their children, keep people from saying Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, and we all have AIDS.

Seriously?

Yes, we have an Agenda, and I can tell you right now, it doesn't interfere with your lives.  We don't want to know what you do in the privacy of your own home. We don't want to take away your marriage licenses, or sleep with you.  We don't have a desire to molest your children, actually the likelihood that it's one of your family members (who's straight) is a more plausible answer, considering statistics show that straight people molest children more often than gays.  Hell, look at all those teachers (straight women and men) sleeping with their students.

As for the AIDS issue, this shouldn't even be one.  AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease that can pass from male to male, female to male, male to female; Either way you look at it, it is not a "Gay" disease.  It's your disease too.

And finally, the Christmas thing is actually a religious nut idea, nothing really to do with gays - I just through it in there to be funny, because we're blamed for everything.  Republicans, like Sarah Palin think non-christians are out to take the Christ out of Christmas.  What does it matter? I say Merry Xmas (and yes I used an X), and say Happy Holidays too!

Must Watch: Coca-Cola - If You Stand Up, We Lose

I saw this video the other day and I'd have to say it's one of the best Coca-Cola advertisements I have seen in my life.  The ad is titled, "Chairs".

I remember drinking up to 6 diet cokes a night while watching our TV shows.  Not only was this contributing to an unhealthy lifestyle, but it was hurting our budget at the same time.  Ryan doesn't drink soft drinks, so it took me a while to learn.

The ad is phenomenol, you have to watch it.

I'd have to say the did a terrific job of telling us what we should do with our lazy asses.  Stand Up!

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 14 - Ride the Bus

I can't even recall the last time I rode a bus to work.  But the one time I did, I was living in Corpus Christi, TX.  I remember having to rely on the bus for at least two weeks when the transmission in my Chevrolet Lumina (don't ask), fell out.

There were two good things that came out of that experience, I met some wonderful people on the bus and saved a bunch of money on gas!!!!  But just as I was able to keep some extra money in my pocket, I contributed to our environment in some form or another.

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!

14. Ride the Bus

With transport accounting for more than 30% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, one of the best ways to reduce them is by riding something many of us haven't tried since the ninth grade: a bus. Public transit saves an estimated 1.4 billion gal. of gas annually, which translates into about 14 million tons of CO2, according to the American Public Transportation Association.

Unfortunately, 88% of all trips in the U.S. are by car. Partly, that's because public transportation is more readily available in big urban areas. One promising alternative is bus rapid transit (BRT), which features extra-long carriers running in dedicated lanes. Buses emit more carbon than trains, but that can be minimized by using hybrid or compressed-natural-gas engines. A study last year by the Breakthrough Technologies Institute found that a BRT system in a medium-size U.S. city could cut emissions by as much as 654,000 tons over 20 years.

Thanks to high gas prices, miles driven per motorist dropped in 2005 for the first time since 1980, according to the Pew Research Center. The U.S. is ready to change. We're just waiting for the bus.

The original version of this article misstated the total amount of CO2 emissions saved annually by public transit. It is 14 million, not 1.5 million, tons.

Make sure to follow Blade 7184 every Tuesday for a new issue of Things We Can Do To Save The Environment.  Each issue is thought-provoking, informative and may hold the key to saving your children and grandchildren's future.

What a Hot Mess: Gaming at Wal-Mart

You see, this is what happens when you sit around all day doing nothing.  What a Hot Mess!

Thank God I did nothing but play outside when I was a child.  But then again, we didn't have the luxury of online gaming and consoles to keep us inside. Or is this truly a luxury?

Look, maybe I shouldn't be so judgmental with this, because I've lost 61 pounds over the last 8 months.  But I did this in my later years and "I" chose to eat the things I did. When we were children, parents made those decisions.  They told us to go biking, or play at the park.  As a matter of fact, we did have a game console... It was ATARI, but this game in a box didnt' define who we were.  We wanted to play Superman and Wonder Woman, and run around all day long.  I know, it's the little things in life that made us happy. LOL.

What's Up With All Those Damn Red Equality Signs?

So in case you haven't noticed, your Facebook news feed is probably covered with Red Equality Signs.  That's because the Human Rights Campaign is encouraging you to stand up for marriage equality, as the Supreme Court will take up two cases involving Gay Marriage starting today.

And if your Facebook isn't lit up with all these red equality signs, its probably because you're one of my straight friends who doesn't hang out with too many homosexuals, but that's okay, because we love you all the same. :-)

The first arguments will be heard today involving the infamous Proposition 8 ruling in California where opponents of gay marriage managed to strip away the rights of all those couples who wanted to be recognized as an equal.  Tomorrow the court will hear the arguments involving the Defense of Marriage Act.

In short, if Proposition 8 is upheld (ruled unconstitutional), same-sex couples in California who were married, and want to marry will be legal.

The Defense of Marriage Act is a whole 'nother story.... the decision here could legalize gay marriage nationwide, something most conservatives, Republicans, and Christians will go nuts over.

We should hopefully hear something before June, if not, sometime in July or August.  Stand up, wear your red and be proud.

Cyanide and Happiness: Push

This is so wrong!  So why am I laughing?  LOL.

A Very Special Moment - Issue #6: Imagine a World Without Hate

It's time for A Very Special Moment, and this one hits close to home.  Actually, the previous issues hit pretty close too.

For those who are here for the first time, I created this series because I always come across videos on the internet, that I swear, are very special moments, and this video is a perfect example of one.  Have you ever wondered what it would be like if people didn't hate?  I have... hundreds of times.

But for the people in this video, it was something that overcame them.  It's time to reflect.  Reflect on what could have been.  Reflect on what "Hate" took away from us.  And this goes for straights and gays, as both are highlighted in the video.

Imagine a World Without Hate™, one where the hate crimes against Martin Luther King, Anne Frank, Matthew Shepard and others did not take place. Support us in the fight against bigotry and extremism by sharing this inspirational video and taking the pledge to create a world without hate at http://www.adl.org/imagine.

21 Accents In Under 3 Minutes

I thought this video clip was pretty cool.  You Tube Vlogger, Actress, Singer, and Director, Amy Walker give us a tour of 21 accents in under 3 minutes.  Quite impressive, I might say.

Amy Walker describes herself as "an actress, singer and writer who embodies a vast range of expression.

Her passion is performing in meaningful productions that inspire positive action in fulfilling our true potential as individuals and as a global community. She has received worldwide acclaim for the authenticity of her myriad accents, heightening the realism of each role, as she plunges joyously into the juice of humanity."

So what would you do if your mother asked you to clean the bathroom "Like the Queen of England is Visiting"?

Oh, I don't know, probably do as she asks?  LOL.
