“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Movies to Watch - Maybe - Carrie

Personally,  I think re-making a classic Stephen King movie such as Carrie is like an amateur producer asking, "Why don't we re-make the musical, Grease?".  Okay, so maybe I'm being a little too facetious.

All kidding aside, the upcoming movie, Carrie looks pretty darn good even though I have reservations about it.  Here's the trailer in case you haven't seen it.  The power of Christ compels you to.

15 Hilairous Detention Slips

Ahhh, those dreaded detention slips most of you boys got while in High School and Grade School.

Seriously, what was this boy, Khai thinking?  "Khai was running around yelling 'Seal of command fades, I cast seal of command, I cast holy shock. he then punched a boy in the mouth and yelled Hammer of Justice"

And boys weren't the only ones who got them, look at Marissa here...  "Disrupting class - claiming to be the reborn Jesus and hitting another student with a Bible"

Check out all 15 below.  Some of them will have you ROFL.

Game of Thrones Wish-Fulfillment

We, Game of Thrones fans, wish things could have been a little more different.  Especially when they killed of our hero, Ned Stark!  Now we're all wishing for Joffrey's death, and a gruesome one at that.  Well, the folks over at College Humor have put together an excellent parody titled, Game of Thrones Wish-Fulfillment, which finds all of our wishes becoming a reality.  Check it out, it's pretty humorous.

Quoted - Republican Senator Mark Kirk on Having an Open Mind and Greater Respect For Others

When I climbed the Capitol steps in January, I promised myself that I would return to the Senate with an open mind and greater respect for others. Same-sex couples should have the right to civil marriage. Our time on this earth is limited, I know that better than most. Life comes down to who you love and who loves you back — government has no place in the middle.

Gun Violence - The Bible Belt - A Sea of Red

I find it kind of ironic that the states with the most gun-violence, are in the states with the most - God-fearing, Muslim-hating, Republican-leaning, Gay bashing people in the country.  Oh, and while we've had an increase of gun-violence in the state of Texas over the last several months - the state is huge, so that's why its suprisingly yellow.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) and its allies in Congress frequently claim that gun violence is highest in places with the toughest crime laws. But a new study from the Center for American Progress (CAP) suggests something closer to the opposite is true — the states with laxer gun laws tend to be the ones contributing the highest shares of national gun deaths and injuries. Back In The Day - Vintage Social Networking

Want to know what it was like to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Skype and Vlog not so long ago?  Then look no further.  Here's your answer.

Keeping It Old Skool - Issue No. 13 - The Plastic Charm Necklace/Bracelet

Today's issue of Keeping It Old Skool is for all the Women who owned one and all the gay men who wanted one.  The infamous Plastic Charm Necklace/Bracelet.  Lol.  Lord, I remember these like it were yesterday.  Yeah, they were the Pandora bracelet of today. **coughs**

Girls went going crazy over these things, some even fighting tooth and nail for the rarest ones.  Hell, I saw girls beaten up over these cheap plastic chains.

As you can see in the pictures, it consisted of a plastic chain link with a few charms.  You would have to buy the rest or trade them with your friends.  The charms would vary from boom boxes, instruments, caricatures to kitchenware, tools, toilets, bells and whistles.  You name it, there was a charm for it.  Can you imagine if Ebay and Amazon existed in those times?  It would have been a hot mess!
No, I never desired one, but I did like playing with my sister's :-).  What are your early memory of these little charms and chains?

Must Watch: The Secret of La Chancla

OMG, never fear "La Chancla" is here!  I'm laughing my ass off right now; Like a whole lot.  Only a Hispanic child would know where I'm coming from with this.  But feel free to watch the video if you're from a different ethnic background. LOL.

Ohhhh, the dreaded "Chancla" - that sandal that our mother's would threaten us with.  And boy, did it work.  I can't recall how many times our mother threatened us with it, but one thing is certain - we grew up dreaming about it.  All she had to do was say the word, and my sister and I would run for our dear lives!  No wonder we turned out to be great kids. **coughs**

The video will explain it all for you - it's a definite must-watch!

Clothing Tags You Failed To Read

I need to take a closer look at my clothing tags from now on.  Or keep Ryan from ripping them off. LOL.  Check out these clothing tags, each with a little sense of humor hidden inside.  I especially love this one, "Or give it to your mother She knows how to do it."  Lol.  True Story!

The Joys of Being a Parent: Angry Dad Goes Easter Egg Hunting (contains some NSFW language)

I just love this segment!  For what would we be if it were not for our parents?  Lol.  I know that Easter is behind us, but I had to post this video. It was too funny not to.

A son thought it was a clever idea to go into his dad's wallet, take out $200 and stash them into 10 plastic Easter eggs.  Only thing is, Dad has to go and find the eggs.  And he wasn't very happy doing it.

The family chihuahua, Peanut helps in the Easter egg hunt.

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 15 - Move to a High-Rise

If you currently live in a high-rise, or about to move into one, then by all intent and purposes - you are helping our environment.  How?  Well, considering that you're likely living in a smaller place, means less gas and electricity.  As the article states below, people living in cities such as New York, are living in really tight places. The smaller the area, the smaller the carbon footprint.

Ryan and I enjoy living in the suburbs.  We like our quiet, peaceful life; If we want a little noise we can always take the 15-20 minute trip south into Houston.  Hey, we have a Prius C - we're helping the environment dammit!

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!

15. Move to a High-Rise

If you're a true environmentalist, a dyed-in-the-wool greenie, then why not pack up your leafy rural home and move to New York City—preferably to a tall building right in the middle of Manhattan?

The Big Apple is home to the greenest citizens in the U.S. Relatively few New Yorkers own cars—one of the biggest contributors to an individual's carbon emissions. Most walk, bike or ride public transit to work—all more efficient transport than the best hybrids.

And New York has developed up, rather than out, which limits wasteful sprawl. Eight million New Yorkers are squeezed into 301 sq. mi.—less than a fortieth of an acre per person. Even a fairly dense suburb devotes about a third of an acre to each person. Density means that commutes, shopping trips and supply chains are shorter. Plus, New Yorkers tend to live in small spaces, although they're a little cranky about it. The denser the area you call home, the smaller your personal carbon footprint—not to mention your gas and electricity bill.

What If The Sun Were to Disappear?

I can't believe I sat here and watched a 12 minute video finding out what would happen if our Sun disappeared.  I tried to stop it from playing, but curiosity got the best of me.

Well, at least we would have a week in the dark to figure out what to do, as if.  Or 8 minutes and 20 seconds before we found out our Sun had vanished.

Check out this great educational video from YouTube Vlogger, Vsauce.  Be careful, gravity will pull you in.

Magical Fun 101: To Kiss or Not To Kiss

I absolutely love this video - being a huge fan of magic and all.  And Kissing!  Lol.

YouTube Vlogger, Stuart Edge has found a way to kiss his way onto a girl's lipsHe does this by using a permanent marker, a deck of cards and a willing participant - a girl, of course.  He asks her to sign her name on a card using a permanent marker.  He folds it up and tells her to hold it in her mouth using her teeth.  Stuart then proceeds to sign his card, fold it and tells her that, "there's a power in kissing".  He places his entire card in his mouth, and she does the same with her card in her mouth.  They lean in, kiss and the magic is revealed.

Check out these Game of Thrones Sigils Caldwell Tanner over at College Humor posted last Saturday.  He used the internet's most popular sites as his point of reference.  They're pretty darn cool.
