“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Mind-Boggling News: Carrie Gets A Makeover

Why does Hollywood continue to re-make movies?  Do they not have any other book adaptations for us to fantasize about? Are they out of superheros to save us from doom?  Seriously? Lindsay Lohan as Carrie?  Are you kidding me?

Okay, I just bombarded this post with many questions, but I honestly have them.  The original movie was released in 1976 - the year my sister, Victoria was born, and to think my niece, Liliana will be born during the remake of this atrocity is mind-boggling to me.

According to Entertainment Weekly:
Thirty-five years after Stephen King’s first best-seller roared into theaters and scared a generation of prom-going teens, MGM and Screen Gems have hired playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to resurrect Carrie with a more faithful adaptation of King’s novel, according to Deadline. But King, who famously disapproved of Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of The Shining, tells EW he still has a soft spot for Brian De Palma’s original film: “I’ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg.”
And TMZ also reports that the Lohan is very interested in playing the part.
Stephen King mentioned Lindsay Lohan by name as a possible star in a remake of the classic film “Carrie” — and sources close to Lindsay tell us … she’d jump at the chance to play the iconic role … Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ … she said she was “stoked” when she heard King mention her name and thinks working with King “would be epic.” We’re told Lindsay is a big fan of King’s work and, if the opportunity presented itself, she’d love to land a role in the upcoming adaption of his famous book, “The Dark Tower.”
I don't know about you, but I think they should leave well-enough alone.  The original Carrie, starring Sissy Spacek is a classic!  Look at the mess they created with the remake of "The Amityville Horror."  Oh okay, it had Ryan Reynolds in it, BUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT!  Isn't it bad enough they're re-making The Neverending Story?!?!?! What Blasphemy!

Who's Who on Superman: Man of Steele?

We already know who will be playing Superman (Henry Cavill), but who will be playing his worldly parents?

Zack Snyder, the director of Superman: Man of Steele, along with Warner Brothers announced yesterday, that Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Secretariat) would be playing Martha Kent, "the only mother Clark Kent has ever known," and “This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination.”

The Hollywood Reporter also writes that Kevin Costner is a "person of interest" for the role of Superman's father, Jonathan Kent.

Other well-known actors possibly joining the cast are Viggo Mortensen as General Zod and Lindsay Lohan as Ursa, but we all know what kinda mess Lindsay is in.  And besides, a rumor is just that, a rumor.  Until Warner Bros. or Zack Snyder come out and say who's playing who, I'll leave it at that.

Andrew Garfield in Spiderman Promotional Pic

Despite all the hoopla over the reboot of Spiderman, this promo pic of Andrew Garfield in his Spidey costume is quite hot.  And besides, I never really liked Tobey Maguire as the web man.

Superman Returns! Wait... it's a reboot.

Take a look at your new Superman!  Warner Bros. made an announcement over the weekend on who would be the next man to don the blue tights and the red cape, and it's Tudors star, Henry Cavill.

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield," said the film's director, Zack Snyder.
