Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen Memes

Not sure how many of you watch this show, but Ryan and I do.  We watch it because we're waiting for the day Gordon Ramsay gets attacked by one of his contestants. Lol.

If you've never seen Hell's Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay is the controversial celebrity chef who has 15 Michelin star awards, several restaurants and screams at his contestants whenever they screw up in his kitchen.  And he isn't nice.  The words that spew out of the man's mouth are horrendous. Lol.

In either case, it seems like the most recent meme taking over the internet is of Ramsay in Hell's Kitchen. Check them out, they're quite funny.  But true.

Kiss of the Week - Issue No. 024 - Will & Sonny

Today's issue of Kiss of the Week is a video instead of a quote.  I have wanted to post this for quite some time, but hadn't decided when and what series to post it on.  So I figured this one would be the best one.

How many times have you seen straight couples kissing and making love on daytime television?  Lots.  And don't lie, you watch Days of Our Lives, The Young and The Restless, or any of those other soap operas.  I used to, but haven't in several years.  But from time to time I like to catch up on the gay characters on some of these shows.  Case and point, Will Horton and Sonny Kiriakis, portrayed by Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith respectively.

On my birthday last year, November 14, the Daytime Soap Opera made history by having these characters take their relationship a little bit further.  Yep, Will and Sonny made love!  And boy, what a joy to watch.  And you thought watching straight people kissing on daytime was hot, think again. LOL.  Actually, I posted Will's first  kiss in February of last year, but it was nothing like this.  Once again, I have to commend the producers of the show for taking it this far.  so without further adieu, here's Will and Sonny sharing a kiss and more...

It's the digital age, you can find the entire episode online if you wish. This is just a clip.

Some Pretty Cool Stuff - Issue No. 011

Today's issue of Some Pretty Cool Stuff has something for everyone; The redneck (gay or straight), who loves drinking beer, children who want to get creative with their bedroom walls, and couples who love to lounge around, reading or having a conversation.

Cap Zappa
For the beer-chugging guys who have nothing else better to do with their time or their bottle caps. LOL.  This little contraption spits out bottle caps and projects them up to 16 feet. I'm thinking this would be kinda fun, but not so sure after everyone is intoxicated.  Maybe it has a warning. LOL. $10.49

Burgerdoodles Wallpaper
This actually is really cool, and I wouldn't mind having one for myself.  Sure, kids would have fun coloring their walls for a lifetime, but you're never too old when it comes to art, right?  Take your pick from a variety of scenes, from New York to Doggie Doodles, and witness your very own artistic talent come to life. $53.00

Loopita Bonita Lounge
Spring is here and Summer is around the corner!  What better way to relax than on your very own two-person lounge chair.  Imagine drinking some Margaritas and reading the next Game of Thrones book on this baby.  Feel free to check out the added pictures here.

Chess

Chess is absolutely one my favorite board games ever!  Although, I usually find myself playing the computer on my iPad, because my loving partner, Ryan doesn't like playing with me. LOL.

But if I had someone in the background watching a game with me and someone else, and they were screaming "hoorahs" every time a move was made...

Let's just say, it wouldn't be so funny.  Lol.

Dead Kevin is a sketch comedy group from Los Angeles consisting of comedians Ahmed Bharoocha, Ryan O'Flanagan, Jack Robichaud, and Direction and Cinematography by John Hale And Maureen Bharoocha

Boybander Duncan James Does The Gay Times

I think I've come to the conclusion that every boy band has a gay member.  New Kids On The Block has Jon Knight, NSYNC has Lance Bass, Westlife had Stephen Gately, and BLUE has Duncan James.  Sorry to burst your bubble, One Direction fans, but I'm thinking there's a couple in that boyband as well. LOL.

Duncan landed himself on the cover of the June 2013 issue of Gay Times magazine, and well, I have no complaints.  The actor, singer, model, and TV personality came out in 2009 and has since been doing really well.  Can't you tell?

Troll of the Day: Cupping a School & Candy Apple Onions

So let's try this again...  Who doesn't know what Trolling is?  Here's a very short history lesson.  It supposedly started in the late 80's, and at the time it was pretty much trying to piss someone off in order to get a rise out of them, earliest known case was 1992.

In the early part of 2000 it mostly had to do with being a prick on the internet because you could. You would pretty much be a bully and would unleash one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent bystander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can.

But today, it's taken a different turn.  It's become the art of pranking.  Yep, everyone's done it.  It's when you play a prank on your sister, brother, mom, dad, co-worker, or friends by doing such things as planting seeds in their computer keyboard, sticking a thousand post it notes on their car, wrapping their desk items in gift wrapping paper - that sort of thing.  I've done it. :-)

So, do any of you care to be a troll today?

Isn't This The Truth? 1993 vs. 2013

Man, isn't this the truth? Sad thing is... I remember having all these gadgets.  Actually, it's not a sad thing; I'm proud to be a part of that moment.  It's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.  But it is quite funny and cool to see it in this perspective...  What a difference 20 years makes.

Must Watch: Spacebound

This short film is about a boy and his small dog who have crash-landed in outer space.  The film isn't so much about what they're going to do with the little oxygen that remains.  But more about what they're going to do together with the time they have left.  Check it out - it's really powerful.

When Death’s door is only a few breaths away, how would you choose to spend your last moments?
The film was made by two seniors attending the School of Visual Arts, Ellen Su and Kyle Moy. [vimeo]

BLOG 3,000 and Counting.....

Wow, I can't believe I've hit another milestone.  This is my 3000th blog post.  And I want to use it by reflecting on my 1000th post, titled "BLOG 1,000 and Counting.....".  I originally posted this on my old MySpace blog account, and in it I shared some predictions to my readers.  Was I right about any of them????

I wrote the post on December 15, 2007, a year before the 2008 Election.  I was an ardent Hillary Clinton supporter during the primaries, and ended up voting for Barack Obama in November.  I gave an account as to how many justices would be retiring, how it would be harder for us gays if Huckabee or Romney were elected and the importance of the 2008 election.

So without further ado, here is that post...

1,000 BLOGS

and Counting.....

As I embark on another journey to blogland, I hope to accomplish so much more in the coming New Year.  And as we reflect on the past and focus on the journey we have taken together this past year; there's one, very important topic, that will mark my 1,000th celebration.

Throughout the year I have blogged about gay marriage, the environment, health issues, love, politics, religion, how to seduce straight boys , comedy, sports, romance, hot guys and even more hot guys.  The list can go on forever because I pretty much covered everything.  And throughout this journey on MySpace I have met so many unique people who made a difference in my life and have built new friendships along the way.

Gay or Straight - we are all one and the same - people with hearts, a soul and a mind.

After going through all your messages and suggestions - 17 of you brought up the subject of our nation and it's current situation and what I thought of it.  Some of you mentioned Obama, Ron Paul, Rudy Guiliani, Mike Huckabee and Hillary Clinton.  But the most important thing that caught my attention was, "Hey Peter, where do you think you'll be in the next 8 years as a gay man?"  And to tell you the truth, it really scares me.

I'm scared to face reality as we see it today.

The fact that our world is deteriorating is unimaginable.  But its the fact of knowing that our kids will have to endure the pain and suffering that comes with a dying world that scares me.

The fact that we will see three supreme court justices retiring within the next 8 years is incomprehensible.  I can't imagine a world where every ammendment can be overturned to suit a party.  Or a law made to suit their own needs or beliefs.

The fact that as Republicans and Democrats we cannot resolve the issues that face our nation is unbelievable.  When will there ever be common ground?

In honor of those who read my blogs everyday and to those who sent all your messages requesting I talk about this

Today's 1,000th Blog is about...

...the Upcoming Election

The world we live in today is not an easy one.  Many of you have have read my blogs or heard me talk politics before and I've stated my positions very clear in the past.  But if you're gay and still trying to find yourself, it is very important that you pay attention.  Nothing against my conservative friends, because I have many; but if you vote, please vote for a Democratic candidate.  It is so important that you do, because unfortunately, the way the system works today, for gay people this is the only route we can take.  There are only two Republicans that I can think of that I wouldn't feel uncomfortable with if they became President; and that is Rudy Guiliani and Ron Paul.  They have far more liberal views than the other Republican nominees.

If we elect Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney as our next President, we are in for a world of hurt.  Not only will these two individuals make sure 3 neo-conservatives are elected to the high court, our nation will change dramatically over the next 4 years and beyond.  We are looking at a President far worse than Bush could ever be.

This election is important, if not, the most important election of our time.  Most of us will look back on this election and wonder if our decision was the right one.

Read about your candidates and this election every chance you get.  You may not find politics important, but it is what this nation and this world is based upon.  It is no longer just about religion, it is about our future.

You may find it boring or ridiculous, but what will you do if you get arrested and placed in prison for having sex with your partner?   If the Sodomy Laws were overturned, having sex in the privacy of your own home would be a crime, moreso for the gay man.  And if you're father is a farmer, which mine is.  And he only makes 80,000 a year, he is not allowed any subsidies.  Why?  Oh because they only go to the farmer that makes 600,000 a year.  What ever happened to helping the low-income farmer?

Don't even let me get started on Education.  No Child Left Behind should be scrapped!!!   And you may not realize it, but as I was watching Boston Legal the other day, I learned that we are 2nd to the last in education around the world, with Mexico being the last.

My sister (Democrat turned Republican), says that the only reason I would vote for Hillary or any of the Democratic candidates is because of the gay thing.  And you know what, I'm proud to say that it's all about the gay thing.  Because we would be demoralized in this country if we voted any other way.  I wish that Republicans didn't have such a harsh way of dealing with the gay issues, because I really do like some of them.  But it isn't all about the "gay thing".  It's about so much more.  It's about women's rights, healthcare, the war, our economy, education - the list goes on.

I can list all the issues that affect us and what this election represents, but if I did, this post would be never-ending.  It has been a pleasure blogging throughout this past year and I hope to continue doing it for some time.  Thank you for all your support, friendship and comments and hope that even though we may not agree on certain issues we still understand one thing.

We are all human.

Vote

- it may be the single, most important thing you will ever do.

Thank you for reading my blogs and the many messages you have sent me.  I hope to still be doing this by the time I reach my 2,000th Blog.

-Peter
And that was how I concluded my 1000th blog post. It's crazy how much has changed in the last 5 years, and for the better. There's not enough space on this blog to write how much President Obama has helped Ryan and I over the last 5 years, but suffice it to say, it's overwhelming.  Maybe I'll save that for when he leaves office and Hillary becomes President. :-)

Cyanide and Happiness: Sex Talk

My Life-Changing Journey by Peter Flores

In July of last year I went to see my doctor, because I needed my prescription re-filledTwo years ago I was diagnosed with Hypertension and had been on hypertensive medication for almost a year.  After having some blood work done he told me that my cholesterol levels were borderline and if I didn't do something about it - he would need to start me on another medication.  I was thinking to myself, "I'm one hot mess!"

I wasn't depressed or anything.  I had a very happy life - I still do.  I just loved food, I was content with who I was and I had everything I could ever want - a wonderful husband, family, pets, a new niece.  But I needed to do something about my health.  Unbeknownst to my doctor, I had also been checking my blood glucose levels - they were not good at all.  In fact, they were terrible.

I still remember the day as if it were yesterday. It was a bright and sunny, Monday morning, and all I could think about was the family I had lost due to heart attacks or strokes.  I sat and cried for 10-15 minutes, because I didn't want this to happen to me.  I didn't want to make my partner, Ryan hurt for the choices I made in life.  It was on this day that I embarked on My Life-Changing Journey.

Suffice it to say, with the help of my partner, Ryan, My Fitness Pal, and the good Lord above I achieved every goal I set out to accomplish.  And I achieved them weeks and months ahead of schedule.  By December I had lost 50 pounds, and I'm currently on my way to losing 15 more.  I'm at 63 pounds lost today, my glucose levels are normal, and in July I go see my doctor again.  Boy, is he in for a shock. LOL.

To say that I do not feel better about myself is an understatement.  I feel more energized and enjoy doing the things I did when I was younger, like running, biking, swimming and working outI started going to the gym in December so losing weight is not as easy, because I'm turning all that fat into muscle, but I see the results and love the way I look and feel.

Time flies by too quickly, we need to make our choices now, not later.  We can all say, "we only live once so make the most of it." But it doesn't do us any good if we're 6 foot under - earlier than we thought we would be.

PENTATONIX - Evolution of Music

The Season 3 winners of NBC's The Sing-Off, Pentatonix, recorded a medley of their favorite songs throughout history.  It's pretty cool.

They take on music from the 11th century, 1600's, 1800's, 1910-1990's and yes, even music from the years 2000 - 2013.  Check it out.

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 17 - Open a Window

Who would have thought opening a window could help the environment?  Geez, I haven't slept with an open window since I was a child.  And with today's recent events, it's practically unheard of.  But who says you can't do it during the day?  By following a few suggestions from today's article, you can lose up to 4000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!

17. Open a Window

Most of the 25 tons of CO2 emissions each American is responsible for each year come from the home. Here are some easy ways to get that number down in a hurry without rebuilding. Open a window instead of running the AC. Adjust the thermostat a couple of degrees higher in the summer and lower in the winter. Caulk and weatherstrip all your doors and windows. Insulate your walls and ceilings. Use the dishwasher only when it's full. Install low-flow showerheads. Wash your clothes in warm or cold water. Turn down the thermostat on the water heater. At the end of the year, don't be surprised if your house feels lighter. It just lost 4,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide.

Make sure to follow Blade 7184 every Tuesday for a new issue of Things We Can Do To Save The Environment.  Each issue is thought-provoking, informative and may hold the key to saving your children and grandchildren's future.  Please feel free to click on my logo to read previous issues.

50 Ways To Say Goodbye and I Didn't Even Know It

This just goes to show how much I pay attention to the lyrics to a song. Last night, Ryan showed me the music video to Train's, "50 Ways To Say Goodbye" and I never realized how hilarious the song was until I saw it.  Suffice it to say, I was embarrassed. LOL.  I listen to this song everyday as I walk from the gym to the office.  It has an upbeat tempo and it brightens my day.  But omg, it's so cruel!  LMAO.

The video stars David Hasselhoff and Taryn Manning - It is absolutely hilarious.  If you haven't seen it, check it out here.

Things That Make You Go Hmmm...

The Boston University Bridge is the only spot in America where a boat can sail under a train - driving under a car - driving under an airplane.  Pretty interesting, huh?  Things that make you go hmmm....

Remember the Zombie Story I posted last month?  Well, here's further proof that The Walking Dead has more in common with the Toy Story franchise than you might have thought.  This will finally put all those conspiracy theories to rest.

Cyanide and Happiness: Afraid To Show It

And These Pics Are The Reason Commas Are Important....

I know I'm not a great writer and I know that I use commas way too often;  But when I look at these pics, I'm glad I do.  LMAO.  Either these pics will make you laugh, or give you an answer to "Are People Really This Stupid?" lol.

I don't think a comma could've helped the last one, no matter which way you put it.
Seven more after the jump...

Blade's Box of Jams: Track #17 - Gentleman

Currently listening to

PSY

I haven't posted a jam in over a year, so I figured why not let you join in on "Gentleman" from your favorite Korean artist, PSY.

I never understood the craze behind his previous song, "Gangnam Style," but since it surpassed Justin Bieber's single, "Baby" on April 1st, he must be doing something right. lol.

Here's the video and song for your enjoyment; And yes, while I don't understand what he's saying, I'm still listening to it.

Poster of the Week - Issue No. 59 - Strife

Continuing alphabetically, I bring you this week's poster, "Strife".

These are meant to be funny, and in no way meant to be taken seriously.

Beautiful Light Bulb Explosions

Exploding light-bulbs helped save this young photographer's life. And not just any type of photography, but those taken with a high-speed camera.

John Smith loves to fill light bulbs with different items and then shoot at them with a pellet gun. He uses anything from ball bearings, chalk dust, daisies, candies, marbles - you name it.
"I was going through a deep depression and was feeling like nothing was going right, nothing was good in my life, and I lost control,” John says. “Photography saved me because it allowed me to see the world in a different way. It reminded me to live in the moment.”
Smith is known as WideEyedIlluminations on Flickr.  Feel free to check out some of his work.

Ship My Pants

Clever or classy?  Take your pick.  I'm sure there will be those who absolutely hate it, because we know what "ship" really means. LOL.  I think the recent ad from Kmart is pretty darn clever.  Take a look and discover "shipping" your pants?

Crimes of the Century - No. 19 - The Unabomber, 1996

The Unabomber, 1996

Ted Kaczynski, PhD, killed three people and wounded 22 with his mailbombs, but it could have been much worse. He managed to sneak a bomb onto American Airlines Flight 444 from Chicago to Washington D.C. It exploded but only caused a small fire. Otherwise, a Boeing 747 passenger jet might have fallen out of the sky on Nov. 15, 1979. As it is, the mad genius, whom investigators tagged as the University and Airline Bomber, would terrorize the country for nearly two decades.

From his cabin in the woods in Montana, the reclusive mathematician would send out bomb after bomb, and letter after letter haranguing victims who had survived his attacks and taunting the media. No one was able to figure out who he was. And then, in 1995, in a blast of egotistical rage, he sent out a 35,000-word manifesto against technology and industrialization, which the Washington Post and the New York Times published in order to prevent the Unabomber from carrying out his threat to blow up a plane over Los Angeles. Someone recognized his ideas in that manifesto. It was his brother, David. And so, the brutal chess game between bomber and government came to an end as a family drama between two brothers, very much alike and yet different enough for one to give the other up for the public good.
